The Hensel Strobe Master Light Meter SEO Titlefrom Hensel Strobe Master Light Meter SEO Titleis an incident and flash meter featuring radio communication via an integrated Strobe Wizard receiver. Incident metering provides far more accurate readings than TTL systems of most cameras. Additionally, the Strobe Master offers support for frame rates between 8 to 64 FPS.

Incidental metering options include the standard incident measuring as well as contrast measurement. Contrast measurement tells you the dynamic range of the scene, ensuring that you will not lose information in the brightest or darkest areas of the image. And, if the sphere is removed, reflected light measurements at 25° are possible.

Additionally, this meter offers flash metering. This allows you to determine the light coming from strobe systems and can also record ambient light falling on the subject. This meter can also measure for multiple flashes, producing more accurate readings.

Radio communication is possible with an integrated Strobe Wizard transmitter. It has access to channels 1-3 and can trigger all at once or each individually. Also, there are four programmable groups and it will work with the Freemask system. This communication allows for flash synchronization, control of flash strength, and the ability to turn on and off the modeling light.

For convenience, the Strobe Master includes a pouch and carrying strap.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this Freemask Transmitter mount on the top of my Nikon D7100 and will it work with my D7100?

A: Yes; as the Nikon D7100 DSLR camera has a standard ISO hot shoe, the Hensel Strobe Wizard Plus FREEMASK Transmitter may be used on the Nikon D7100 DSLR camera to wirelessly trigger Hensel strobes that have the Hensel Strobe Wizard Radio Receiver built into the strobe/power pack, or which have the Hensel Strobe Wizard Plus Radio Slave Remote Control Receiver (B&H # HESWPR) attached to the unit.

Q: 2. The specs note that the lowest ISO is 3 however, I've read a few reviews that state lowest ISO is 100. Can you confirm ISO goes lower than 100? My camera goes down to ISO 64 and want to make sure I can use that setting.

A: According to the manual, on page 34, it lists the ISO range from 3-8000. The choices you have are: 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 64, 80, 100, 125, 160, 200, 250, 320, 400, 500, 640, 800, 850, 1,000, 1,250, 1,600, 2,000, 2,500, 3,200, 4,000, 5,000, 6,400, 8,000

Q: 3. What is the lux measurement range for this Illuminometer?

A: Measurement range : 2.50 lx to 200,000 lx

Q: 4. how do i Change the battery?

A: The battery is accessible by removing a screw at the bottom, which holds the top and bottom of the unit together. You would need a CR-2 3V lithium battery to serve as a replacement. Please see the link to the battery for reference: a href= http://bhpho.to/1Hpd1HN target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1Hpd1HN/a

Q: 5. I lost the instruction manual. Not sure on how the replace the battery inside this unit?

A: go to: http://www.hensel.eu/en/products/accessories/strobe-wizard/strobe-wizard-plus-transmitter.htmland click on manual. see page 2 for pics and 19 for english instructions.good luck.

Q: 6. Does it come with the lumidisc?

A: The lumidisc comes with the device, if you need to purchase a replacement, it would be this one: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/119344-REG/Sekonic_401_830.html

Q: 7. Is the Strobe Master Hensel light meter required for this to work with the Integra system or will the TTL system in my D7100 be sufficient?

A: While the Hensel Strobe Master Light Meter is not required for use with the Hensel Integra strobes, if you wish to meter your strobes' output, then a handheld incident meter of some type would be needed. The Nikon D7100 DSLR camera's internal meter is designed to read reflected light, not incident light, and is only designed to meter Nikon's i-TTL flashes or units used on the camera's hot shoe. The whole point of using studio strobes is for the ability to manually set the flash exposure for consistency, but SLR/DSLR cameras are not designed to calculate studio strobes' exposure (though there are a few new options that have recently been released that are starting to add TTL capability, though this is not the norm for most studio flashes). If you do not wish to use a handheld light meter, some people simply take the image, then use the histogram on the rear of the camera to check exposure. While this is not as accurate as using a light meter, it is an option if you do not yet own or wish to purchase a light meter. So, long story short, no, the Nikon D7100 DSLR camera's internal meter will not meter studio strobe lighting.l

Q: 8. what cable to connect to westscott?

A: Please review the following item. Impact Sync Cord Male Mini (3.5mm) to Male PC (16') BH #IMMMPCM16 • MFR #9031440 https://bhpho.to/3POon1N

Q: 9. In the overview it says, Not designed for photographic work . What in the wide world does that mean? It's a light meter...

A: This meter only measures the intensity of light, it does not provide any information that can be used to set the exposure on a camera (ISO, f/#, etc.).

Q: 10. Does this meter work with PocketWizard plus 3 wireless?

A: You can attach a PocketWazard Plus 3 to the meter via a sync cord like this, https://bhpho.to/3Nsyv10 .

[1-1/1000 sec] This bag has padding that is both thin and effective, as well as a very durable zipper. I've been using it for several months with many different tripods and light stands. The length is extremely versatile and the shoulder strap is comfortable.

[1-1/1000 sec] Great bag for the money. Fits my manfrotto 1004 BAC stand and just as I hoped, it seems like it will fit a total of three stands plus umbrellas. Zip looks like it will last and generally very well made for the price and its padded

[8 to 64 fps] I searched hours for a padded bag that would fit a large bipod. This fits my Two Vets QDT V2 perfectly which only condensed to 39” and I can even leave the 55mm ball head still attached. The bag padded great, great zippers and opens to allow easy access

[AA battery] This is the second Hensel bag I've invested in, and I love them both. I'm a recording engineer, and use tall stands to record choirs and orchestras. Good padding to protect my stands, and good, secure zippers. It's hard to find one that fits your needs with the right height. I'm sure I'll put this bag to good, long use.

[1-1/1000 sec] This works perfectly to adjust and fire my Hensel Plus monolight. In a recent shoot with the light at the top of a 10-foot lightstand, this was indispensible for adjusting light output without having to reach the monolight.
