Q: 1. Any tips on a case (like a portabrace) that also holds two receivers for wireless lavs? I find with the H4N, it's just a precarious jumble of cables, but at the least the XLR inputs came out on one side.

A: Currently, there is not a case available that will house a Zoom H4N and 2 wireless receivers. You may however consider a Porta Brace AO-1X Audio Organizer Case (B&H#POAO1X). The internal dimensions of 10 x 6 x 6 allows ample room for a Zoom recorder, a couple of wireless receivers and more.

Q: 2. does new ipad fit ?

A: The Mackie iPad Air Tray Kit specifies compatibility with iPad (2017), iPad Pro 9.7", iPad Air 2, iPad Air, and iPad (4th generation) models. Any other iPads should be compared dimensionally to the measurements of the models listed as compatible to confirm whether they will also fit this unit.

Q: 3. Has the SI Impact a headphone jack on the monitor section or in general?

A: The headphone jack in the bottom left front is used for main monitoring and solo of any channel(s) - fro Soundcraft: normally the LR signal but may be PFL/AFL, or other signal as set in the MONITOR system menus. Also you may patch a pair of outputs to the monitor bus for use with studio monitors.

Q: 4. Is the Aux out a TRS balanced output?

A: According to Soundcraft, the Aux out is a TRS balanced output.

Q: 5. Does this come with any plugins?

A: The Solid State Logic BiG SiX does not come with any plugins.

Q: 6. My computer is an M1 Apple Mac running macOS Big Sur 11.5.2. Will I be able to use the Notepad-12FX as the soundcard and audio interface of my computer when connected via USB?

A: At this time there is not an update from Soundcraft for compatibility wih Bug Sur.

Q: 7. What batteries give the best record times?

A: I have been using Energizer lithium batteries. They last for a very long time.

Q: 8. Is there anyway I can connect my cell phone to this mixer (an adapter or something) to receive phone calls for a podcast??? -PC

A: The best way to do a mix minus feature in this scenario is by using Dual 1/4 TS to one 3.5mm TRS Y cable. That will allow you to connect you smartphone to the mixer allowing you to receive phone calls for a podcast. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/846984-REG/Hosa_Technology_HMP_010Y_REAN_3_5_mm_TRS.html?sts=pi&pim=Y

Q: 9. Any recommendations for affordable lav mics to use with this recorder for podcasting? I have some inexpensive lavs that work OK with my current recorder, but they use button batteries. I tried my more expensive Sennheiser lav and got no signal at all. I would prefer lavs that didn't require batteries.

A: Jason, are you looking for a wired or wireless Lav? I personally always try and use a wired Lav wherever possible ... high fidelity, clear quality audio is critical to most forms of broadcast digital media. If you're happy to go with a wired Lav I'd highly recommend the Shure MX150 Subminiature Lavalier Microphone (Wired XLR) .... you tuck into the collar/chest area of the talent, run the thin Shure cable out of the shirt and then attach a pro studio XLR cable and run it into the Zoom H6 XLR inputs ... really delivers stunning audio quality and works every time without having to worry about RF interference and batteries dying.I have a couple of them and can either record them as separate mono tracks in the H6 or mix them as a stereo pair.I purchased both my H6 and the two Shure MX 150s from B&H and have been totally satisfied with the set-up ... you pay a bit more for a pro Lav but the peace of mind and audio quality is well worth it ... and besides which B&H prices are always very competitive and if you have any issues, B&H service is second to none!Cheers,Neil

[9.5 lb / 4.3 kg] Excelente for the price. Had a problem with overheating/crashing but a technician managed to fix it without having to buy a new master board. Hope Yamaha continues this line and improve the next generation, I would buy one.

[IP67, ATA-300] Just got an M32 and searched everywhere for a case and then spotted this on a few sites. At first I was turned off because it was a special order and pictures didn’t show much but after talking to a sales rep he put my mind at ease. Also this is nearly $200 more on their competitors site and that confused me too but it’s the exact one and I’m not complaining.

Quality is great, casters and latches are better than I’ve seen on more expensive cases and doghouse even has the Midas logo etched into it. To be honest I was not expecting this to be so nice. I have yet to take it on the road but based on all the above, I’m sure it’ll be fine.

[NK-7 Resin] For a case made in China, this is still a really good quality build. While it's made for the Midas M32R, I purchased it for the Allen & Heath SQ-5 (it's a nicer board than the M32R for a whole host of reasons) because I wanted a foam lined case, not a hard rack rail and I haven't been able to find any other manufacturer making the case to accommodate the SQ-5. This case will do it with a little work, which is what I expected. Remember to save your Allen & Heath packing foam, then see my attached photo for details on how to make a SQ-5 fit nicely into this unit. Perhaps ProX will make an SQ-5 case as soon as that mixer gains popularity. Until then, my modification is really nice. (Note: out of the box, this ProX case looks like it will fit the M32R without any modifications.)

[NK-7 Resin] One of the best purchases I've ever made for my small home studio. I use this mixer that has great pre-amps to obtain a strong and clear signal for my live recordings for song lyrics. The Auto-Tune feature is one of the features I was interested in and this has worked beautifully to my satisfaction (reducing the amount of work I do for post-production pitch correction). The USB and Bluetooth features are a great addition in being able to transfer and listen to newly rendered material instantly on mobile devices. Talk about a time-saver! I've not even used all the features but feel when I do, I'll be blown away even more with the power and performance that this mixer offers. Finally, it will serve perfectly when I can take this out for live performances in the future. A very thrilled and satisfied owner here.
