Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the bluetooth range from the recorder?

A: The BlueTooth range is +/- 30 feet.

Q: 2. Will this mic work with QuickTime?

A: This mic will be compatible with Quicktime.

Q: 3. Will the Senal UB-440 fit a Samson SP01 spider shock mount?

A: Yes, we use the UB-440 with the SP01 shock mount, and have not encountered any problems with fit or stability. If you use the mini-stand that comes with the microphone, be careful to position the mount over the base. Otherwise, the mic may tip. When touched.

Q: 4. Does the Senal UB-440 Professional USB Microphone work with windows 8/8.1 RealTek sound system?

A: Although I'm using an iMac, also it works great on Windows 8 and 8.1. The quality is very good, but there is a small problem, for my taste. This model microphone is connected via USB, and while listening to headphones while recording for a small delay occurs.

Q: 5. Question about checking/adjusting the speed using the strobe dots: On the consumer model AT-LP120XUSB it shows that three of the four rows of platter dots correspond to 33, 45, and 78 speeds which seems straightforward. On this model the markings seem to say that the rows of dots instead correspond to relative speed percentages (from the image it looks like +7.2, +3.3, 0, and -3.3%). How do you know which rows of platter dots to use to calibrate to 33, 45, and 78 rpm? Thank you.

A: The Audio-Technica Consumer AT-LP140XP Direct Drive Professional DJ Turntable has two buttons on the left for selecting 33, 45, or 78 RPM (press both together for 78 RPM). The dots next to the numbers for the speed percentages are different sizes. "0" is the indicator for normal speed and it correlates with the largest dot in the strobe display, so if you want the speed to be normal, and not faster or slower, that is the strobe dot to look at when you are calibrating the speed. The "Quartz" button next to the tone arm turns the pitch function on and off. There are tempo range buttons on the right corner along with a pitch control slider switch to adjust the speed, and a selection indicator that lights up blue for standard or locked RPM settings. The stroboscopic lights around the platter work just like a strobe tuner for musical instruments to give you a visual indication of the platter speed. The dots will look like they have stopped moving when the platter is turning at the rated speed, and they will look like they are moving to the left if the platter is turning too fast, and they will look like they are moving to the right, if the platter is turning too slowly. You can find more information about checking and adjusting the pitch controls on page 11 of the user manual: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/642204.pdf

Q: 6. Does this work with Linux?

A: sorry...do not know.

Q: 7. Is there a way to record and use the unit when the USB connector is plugged in at the same time for extended recording? It says you can on Page 189 of the manual, but, there is no AC/USB accessory power and once the built-in USB connector is plugged in, the unit is disabled from use? How do you do this?

A: Battery Life (a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery) The battery life spans provided here are all approximate periods of time. For the battery life of the linear PCM recorder in any other mode, refer to the Help Guide. Recording: LPCM 96 kHz/24 bit: 15 hrs; LPCM 44.1 kHz/16:bit 20 hrs; MP3 192 kbps: 22 hrs; Playback with built-in speaker: LPCM 96 kHz/24 bit:9 hrs; LPCM 44.1 kHz/16 bit: 9 hrs; MP3 192 kbps:10 hrs; Music file (LPCM 192 kHz/24 bit):7 hrs Playback with headphones: LPCM 96 kHz/24 bit:18 hrs; LPCM 44.1 kHz/16 bit: 22 hrs; MP3 192 kbps: 25 hrs; Music file (LPCM 192 kHz/24 bit): 13 hrs Recording with REC Remote: LPCM 96 kHz/24 bit:10 hrs; LPCM 44.1 kHz/16 bit: 12 hrs; MP3 192 kbps: 12 hrs; Playback via BT connection: LPCM 96 kHz/24 bit: 14 hrs; LPCM 44.1 kHz/16 bit: 18 hrs; MP3 192 kbps: 18 hrs; Music file (LPCM 192 kHz/24 bit): 10 hrs https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/452717.pdf

Q: 8. What is the SPL of the mics?

A: Unfortunately that spec is not specified from the Sony.

Q: 9. What audio software is preferred? Does it work with Audacity?

A: It really depends on what you are doing. Audacity is a simple to use and free DAW, and a lot of people really like it. For something with a little more sophistication you may want to consider Audition from Adobe.

Q: 10. What happens when the internal battery eventually fails?

A: If the internal battery for the Sony PCM-A10 Audio Recorder fails, you will need to contact Sony to inquire about battery replacement.

[12 x 12 x 10"] The sound is both fat and loud; really nice. This mic replaced the Sennheiser MKE2, which was quieter and thinner. Though the DPA 4080's sound is really full, the speech intelligibility is superb. The spoken word is distinct and clear. Used in a Baptist church with a Sennheiser lapel (EW 112p G4) microphone. If you want pro quality sound for your sermon, get this mic.

[12 x 12 x 10"] This is by far the cleanest sounding, extremely low noise omnidirectional mic I've owned. I absolutely love listening to the results of my recordings as I always get beautiful results. Also, they very require very little to no audio editing/treatment before I render my tracks. As of now I've owned the 2006c(stereo pair)for 4 months and I have no complaints thus far.

[-20 dB] Excellent quality. Using it in a Church and audio is excellent. It is a delicate equipment if handled improperly you may break it

[12 x 12 x 10"] This is great if you have the gooseneck with an XLR barrel. If you've got the MicroDot, you need the CMX2218B00 cable to use with this. Fair warning. Beyond that lack of explanation, the mount is great.

[-20 dB] I love the detail that this mic picks up. The wider spread and small footprint makes it ideal for doing field recordings for sampling in music and foley. Close mikig does a good job of isolating asound, while pulling it back sets it in its environment, and its size allows it to be camera mounted with ease. Great mic!

[-20 dB] Tiny footprint, great material to brush against clothing silently. These are awesome mounts for the DPA 4060.

[-20 dB] Did you know that the Mars Rover has a DPA (Danish Professional Audio) microphone built into it? The 4097 is a high SPL mic that is used by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir to Faith Presbyterian Church in Sacramento. You can't find a better mic for this purpose.

[12 x 12 x 10"] Excellent mount for securing against clothing noise. Add some moleskin and these reduced clothing noise issues from fidgety subjects. Pricey but recommended to have a couple in your kit for tough situations.
