The black StarTech 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub - Compact Blackfrom StarTech 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub - Compact Blackconnects to one USB 2.0 port on a Mac or PC computer, which further adds seven USB 2.0 ports, allowing you to maximize the number of high-speed USB peripherals connected to your computer. A power adapter is included, but but the hub can also be powered through a USB bus connection to the host computer, thus it allowing you to install the hub as needed without worrying about the availability of a power outlet.

A: It is best to only split USBC one way, as splitting it out more would cause instability.

A: This is a Gen. 2.0 product.Max throughput of card is limited by host bus interface. If used with ExpressCard Gen 1.0 enabled computer, max throughput is 2.5 Gb/s. and with Gen 2.0, max throughput is 5 Gb/s.

A: Yes it is compatible but will cover the Magsafe power connector but you can use the USB-C Power port to power your computer.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with OS X Sierra (v 10.12)?

A: I would guess not. Not only is it unlikely ant 10.12 compatable hardware has standard PCI ports, the manufacturer has a poor record with drivers. I was not able to get this device to work on any of my supposidly compatable computers.

Q: 7. Can I use this MIDI hub in a live show? And would each MIDI controller work individually in Ableton Live (using different VSTs on each MIDI controller of course)?

A: Yes, the ESI M4U eX could be used for a live performance. Each MIDI input will be recognized as a separate channel by your DAW.

Q: 8. Does this hub cause a lot of heat at the laptop?

A: This should not cause excessive heat.

[480 Mb/s] Had previous experience with a dual port DVI and VGA StarTech KVM and this one is just as good. Yes, the hot keys don't work with a wireless keyboard but I suspect that is more a function of the keyboard driver than the KVM switch, since the last unit I had also had a wireless keyboard and mouse and was flawless in its operations. It would be nice if the DVI connectors were just a smidgen (metric) further apart from one another, but these are minor issues that have nothing to do with the quality or the operation of the unit itself. I love the fact that this is a metal housing; makes it stay put and feels high quality. 5

[5 VDC] There is a lot packed into this box. It delivers great resolution and audio with push button connectivity. As always StarTech makes sure you have the right connection for your power source. This product does not include all of the connection cables so you just can just purchase what ever lengths you need. 5

[Positive] I ran out of ports with my old one so I went with this one. I was worried about the weight but it is much lighter than I thought it would be. It's awesome! Would definately recomend if you are like me with my computer and 3 portable hard drives. Now I don't have to go without my mouse :-) 5

[2 A] When working with multiple PCs, a KVM moves from a nice-to-have to an essential piece of equipment. This KVM packs an incredible amount of ports and functionality into a very compact size. I used to have it out front where I could reach the (Switching) button, but once I got used to the hot-key switching, it’s now hidden in behind the machines, keeping my work area clean and uncluttered with cables. The resolution on the monitors is excellent and response time to switch back and forth is fast and smooth. Setup was easy once I planned where all my cables were going, and I recommend tightening all the screws for the DVI cables to the back of the KVM as you attach them. Trying to do so afterwards can be very tricky! I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review 5

[Plastic] I've used my KVM going on 4 years now and have never had a single performance issue and we order these for other employees. My gripes (more wishes, really) more space between the DVI connections on back and of course USB 3.0 which was long since available when we ordered. Most of our monitors and PCs in use are DVI and now we're seeing more DP connections come in and so far OK so long as the monitor has DVI obviously. Very happy and highly recommend if your monitor(s) are DVI. 5
