The blue StarTech 2-Port USB 3.0 A Female Slot Plate Adapterfrom StarTech 2-Port USB 3.0 A Female Slot Plate Adapterallows you to add two USB 3.0 A female ports to the back of your computer. It converts the USB pins on the USB 3.0 motherboard header to two standard USB 3.0 A-type ports. The adapter can be mounted on the rear panel of a computer case, adding two USB 3.0 A female ports for simple connection to USB peripheral devices.

The USB 3.0 standard supports transfer rates of up to 5 Gbps and is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 (480 Mbps) and 1.1 (12 Mbps) devices.

A: I would guess not. Not only is it unlikely ant 10.12 compatable hardware has standard PCI ports, the manufacturer has a poor record with drivers. I was not able to get this device to work on any of my supposidly compatable computers.

A: It should but we could not guarantee it, it will depend on what you are plugging in as well and whether your TV supports that or not.

A: I do not know. The product is advertised to convert from USB 3 to HDMI with no indication that it can convert in the other direction (other than, presumably, for basic device communication). You need to ask the manufacturer.

[0.2 lb] Don't go cheap with adapters. One screw-up in your data path and you lose a client, not to mention potential liability. StarTech reliability is worth the few extra bucks. 5

[7 x 4 x 1"] I bought this for my old Dell Latitude E6400 laptop to transfer a lot of files to a portable drive, and it preformed awesome just as Startech said it would. I was very impressed with the USB 3.0 speed. It was very easy to install, and it even came with a CD that had the needed drivers, so it only took a few minutes until I was transferring all those files at lightning speed. Before buying it, all my questions were expertly answered by a representative with Startech’s chat service. Thank you for such a great product! : ) 5

[7 x 4 x 1"] I use this to add usb ports to a Toughbook CF-19 Mk7 that I use in my cobbled together home office. I plugged it in to the Expresscard slot and it worked out of the box. I did not use the driver CD because I used Linux and those would be of no use to me. And yes, the cover closes and seals with the adapter in place. I can't speak to transfer speeds, because I'm using it to connect external keyboard, webcam, mouse, etc. For my use it works flawlessly. 5

[7 x 4 x 1"] Having compared prices between this KVM with others, I was taking a risk by not knowing will this switch validate such a price gap from its cheaper competitors. Outcome? Well worth it! As instructed, I used wired connections for my keyboard and mouse and everything connected without a problem. The switch easily and quickly moves between my four computers (3 PCs and 1 Mac). The keys and mouse as well as video perform perfectly. When I had to reconfigure my office everything had to be unplugged. When I set everything back up, my monitor displayed "HDMI Out of Range" for all my computers. Not good. Went on to the website and found an excellent video that instructed me on how to reset my switch. I followed the video's very clear audio/visual instructions and everything works again! Thanks Startech for making a very good product that met the expectations I had with its price. Then, also for putting together an excellent website with the resources needed to allow me to correct my problem. 5
