Vienna Instruments - Chamber Strings II from Vienna Symphonic is a sample-based virtual instrument, featuring a Violin Ensemble (6 players,) Viola Ensemble (4 players,) Cello Ensemble (3 players) and Double bass Ensemble (2 players) with many of the techniques from Chamber Strings I but also selections played "con sordino" (with mutes).

The small string ensembles present a full instrumental range, rich in nuances. With the help of enhanced performance algorithms, the ensembles' liveliness unfolds while playing these instruments. Tender or expressive, quiet or dynamic, light or energetic, the Chamber Strings exude their flair in intimate arrangements, both in chamber music compositions or in divided string groups.

Large string ensembles combined with the Chamber Strings are enhanced by additional nuances and a wealth of variants. Apart from the entire sample library of the Horizon Series' Chamber Strings Edition, the instruments contains short and sustained notes, crescendos and diminuendos, but also includes Vienna's unique Interval Performances, including legato, portamento, and trill performances.

The Vienna Instruments user interface is clearly arranged and includes pre-configured patches for immediate playability with no learning curve. The interface uses a powerful proprietary streaming audio engine that can load up to 3,456 articulations (patches) on one MIDI channel.

Load times are extremely low and 64 stereo voices per instance can stream from the hard disc. A RAM optimizing utilities clears unused samples out of RAM. Users can easily create their own instruments, using "drag and drop" functionality, and the instrument provides the ability for velocity crossfades and release control to be switched on or off in real time.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use the Basic wireless and off-camera and still have TTL control?

A: Yes you can, however you will need a TTL cord from your camera manufacturer so the camera can communicate with the flash.I am a Nikon Photographer the cord for me would be the SC-29 I am not sure about Canon.

Q: 2. Does this work with the Vello BG-7 Battery Grip (for Nikon D800/e/810)?

A: I think the answer is no. I bought it for the original Nikon grip, with which of course it works as designed. From the reviews on B&H's website, it sounds like (from the most liked negative review) the Vello BG-7 differs in dimensions (bigger) from the MB-D12 Nikon grip, which means the BL-5 probably would not fit properly. There is also the unknown as to whether the grip's electronics would function with the D4 battery, since it doesn't appear to be designed with that functionality in mind. However, most of this is speculation on my part. I do not own the Vello grip and have not tried this BL-5 battery chamber cover on it, so perhaps someone else can offer some first hand experience.

Q: 3. Is the BL-5 compatible with the MB-D17 for D500?

A: Chandler, yes the BL-5 is compatible with the MB-D17. I ordered three to use with D810's MB-D12 grip. When the EN-EL 18a battery is paired with the BL-5, You can shoot with the D500 for a bigger part of the day. If you can recharge at the end of the day, two BL-5,s and two of the EN-EL 18a batteries would keep you going.

Q: 4. I just want to make sure I have this straight. If you have the MB-D12, you can purchase this chamber cover and an EN-EL18a battery to expand the power capacity (going from an EN-EL15 to this 18) of my D810?

A: The New EN-EL18a battery is compatible with the MB-D12 battery grip with the BL-5 battery chamber cover, yes

Q: 5. On my old Quantum flash I used a Norman 400B battery pack. Can that be used with the newer Quantum heads? Thanks

A: That flash does work with the Norman batteries. There is one Quantum flash that works with the 400B battery with the use of an adapter. The flash is the QFX model. The link for that is, http://bhpho.to/1efe2TGAnd the adapter is, http://bhpho.to/Kt2SS9This flash is not a shoe mount flash. So to use it on a Nikon camera in TTL you will need an adapter to make it TTL and a flash bracket. The TTL adapter for Nikon is at this link, http://bhpho.to/Kt4Nq7

Q: 6. can this cover fits mcoplus grips and fit en-el18 battery to get 9fps with extra longer battery life?

A: I have on idea if this will fit an off brand battery chamber. Order the cover from Amazon, see if it fits. Return it if it doesnt .

Q: 7. Can it work with YN-622C / YN-622C-TX triggers ?Can this flash obtain E-TTL settings via hot shoe ?Can I use IMMLTPBP battery pack wtih this flash ?Thanks

A: Visit Quantum on line for all your answers.

Q: 8. If I buy the MB-D12, do I also need to buy the BL-5 Battery Chamber cover as well or will the MB-D12 battery pack, as ordered, hold on N-15 Battery?

A: No, BL-5 not required. The MB-D12 as shipped will accept a Nikon EN-EL15 battery, the same battery that the D-800, 810 body uses. The BL-5 permits use and fitment of the Nikon EN-EL18a battery, used in the D4

Q: 9. Will this work with the Turbo and/or Turbo Z batteries?

A: It works with the Turbo batteries. No Idea what a Turbo Z battery is.

Q: 10. Would this work with a Rode NT-USB Mini? I imagine it would if the bottom hole in the foam was shipped with a circular cutout, which I could leave in.

A: Unfortunately, I think the knobs on the side of the NT-USB will get in the way when mounting this. Using a reflection filter that does not surround the mic fully will probably be a better option for the mic you have.

Albums are really very lovely. I like them and will use them.

I would have liked to have an option to also have full page self-adhesive pages. I cannot find self-adhesive pages to fit these albums and do not want top loading pages. Advise on this would be appreciated.

I have been using these photo albums for a long time. I love that they are 3 ring - making it easy to view the photos. The pockets make it easy to just slide the photos in place when you are ready to put them away. Thank you for making this product available.

a great closely MICed string ensemble. great for small orchestra work. Definetly a learning curve to figure things out, but rewards when you do.

Best piano library I've experienced. Vibrant sound, customization and dynamics are all there. If you are into CFX or trying to add it to your arsenal, do not hesitate.

This brand definitely surpasses the quality of the Pioneer albums. I bought five of these albums and am enjoying the ease of inserting the photos.

I purchased several albums to create themed albums that came with these exact pages. I needed more for some of the albums and these fit perfectly. I thought it was a good price and will purchase more from this company when needed.

LOTS of articulations that play well with each other. The Synchron Player is also much easier to use than either Kontakt based sample libraries or Vienna's earlier Vienna Instruments based libraries.

One of the great things about MOTU Symphonic Instruments is that it runs on G4 processor, and even on 256MB of RAM. Consequently, on the even the cheapest of the modern laptops (just like my 2MB Mac Air Intel i5) it works smoothly and loads all the instruments instantly. To me it's the best thing ever to run software release in 2006 on a 2012 computer, because it just runs great. And the sounds are simply breathtaking. Even the concert piano is mind blowing, really lending itself for classical piano playing in real time from my digital piano keyboard. And the price could not be better with B&H special discount offers. I took advantage of the discount, and I am a very happy camper now. Oh, and the authorization process with iLok is very good. I installed MOTU Symphonic Instruments on two computers, and to run it, I simply insert the iLok USB dongle, and voila. It's simply great.
