Harps from Vienna Symphonic is a sample-based virtual instrument, featuring two harps. The collection provides the ability to write orchestral music from the mid-19th century that requires two harps.

Harp 1, played by Ruth Rojahn, includes normal, muted, harmonics and bisbigliando single notes and medium speed major, diminished, pentatonic and whole tone glissandi. The controller structure of the library provides extremely flexible and quick access to various controls, allowing the user to switch between ranges, different tempos, up and down movements and different scales in real-time while playing.

The second harp, played by Julia Reth, contains an even larger number of single notes, also offering playing styles like damped, fingernail playing and pedal glissandos. A lovely ethereal effect is created by the bisbigliando variations, the whispering of tender tremolos on two strings playing the same note.

The Vienna Instruments user interface is clearly arranged and includes pre-configured patches for immediate playability with no learning curve. The interface uses a powerful proprietary streaming audio engine that can load up to 3,456 articulations (patches) on one MIDI channel.

Load times are extremely low and sixty-four stereo voices per instance can stream from the hard disc. A RAM optimizing utilities clears unused samples out of RAM. Users can easily create their own instruments, using "drag and drop" functionality, and the instrument provides the ability for velocity crossfades and release control to be switched on or off in real time.

Q: 1. On my old Quantum flash I used a Norman 400B battery pack. Can that be used with the newer Quantum heads? Thanks

A: That flash does work with the Norman batteries. There is one Quantum flash that works with the 400B battery with the use of an adapter. The flash is the QFX model. The link for that is, http://bhpho.to/1efe2TGAnd the adapter is, http://bhpho.to/Kt2SS9This flash is not a shoe mount flash. So to use it on a Nikon camera in TTL you will need an adapter to make it TTL and a flash bracket. The TTL adapter for Nikon is at this link, http://bhpho.to/Kt4Nq7

Q: 2. what is replacement charger for Quantum Turbo battery?

A: Yes, the following unit will work to charge the quantum turbo.

Q: 3. Will this work with the Nikon sb 5000

A: For the Nikon SB5000 you would need this battery: https://bhpho.to/2Vxdqrn Plus this cable: https://bhpho.to/3axNrnV

Q: 4. Do they sell replacement batteries for this?

A: Yes this matches the Quantum series of batteries

Q: 5. I currently have 430EXll Cannon Speedlight, is the Turbo 3 Rechargeable Battery by Quantum campatable with this?

A: Unfortunately, the Canon 430EX II is not compatible with the Quantum Turbo line of batteries. It is compatible with the QB1+ battery (B&H # QUQB1P), though. You would just need the MB5 (B&H # QUMB5). Otherwise, to use the Turbo batteries, you would need to upgrade flashes to the 580EX II or 600EX-RT.

Q: 6. Hello,i have a other brand battery packs for nikon SB900. I bought a cable cannot fit in battery packs. I want to know that Quantum cable can or cannot fit my packs. May i know how length is the cable head (only silver area/part)

A: The cable head on the CKE2 measures 9mm.

Q: 7. Is it a CZ2 cable or a CZ cable.

A: The battery kit comes with a CZ cable.

Q: 8. Can I use this Quantum flash off camera with a Pocket Wizard?

A: no, you cannot!

Q: 9. i have 3 freewire FW10 units, can i use a freewire FW8R with them?

It's not a big sample library but the bell tones are excellent! I could not find a comparable library for this type of bell sound from the other big name sample library companies, so this fills a niche missed by others.

LOTS of articulations that play well with each other. The Synchron Player is also much easier to use than either Kontakt based sample libraries or Vienna's earlier Vienna Instruments based libraries.

The sounds in this plugin are great! not OMG AMAZING! but for only $, it beats anything else ive used in this price range. Some of the sounds are a bit lacking, but most sound great and have many uses in pieces. overall a great buy!

This is my seventh virtual piano. See my review of the Bösendorfer also by VSL — this is just as supremely recorded and I prefer the Steinway sound. It's hard to see how anyone will ever do any better than this. There are 10 different microphone positions (plus the room mix which incorporates several of them in the standard library; I think the full library gives added richness). I use eight of them (not the Main or the main-C) and the plate reverb at 30% which I like better than the algorithmic reverb or the delay. If you can't afford the full, the standard will still be superior to anything else out there.

The Synchron interface is SO much easier to use (than the former Vienna Symphonic Instruments plugin). Sound quality and playability are impeccable.

Best piano library I've experienced. Vibrant sound, customization and dynamics are all there. If you are into CFX or trying to add it to your arsenal, do not hesitate.

Lots of articulations that play well together. I also find the synchron player easier/faster to use than Vienna's older Vienna Instrument player or Kontakt based sample sets.

a great closely MICed string ensemble. great for small orchestra work. Definetly a learning curve to figure things out, but rewards when you do.

Lots of articulations that play well together. I also find the synchron player easier/faster to use than Vienna's older Vienna Instrument player or Kontakt based sample sets. Note that Elite sits somewhere between Chamber and Pro/I orchestra in terms of number of strings. I find that the number of strings in the Pro/I orchestra is enough that you lose some of that sense of 'bow on string'. With Elite you still hear some of that 'bow on the string'. Layering Elite on Pro is also really useful.
