Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the internal battery removable? Can I purchase extra battery for more run time?

A: Hi Tim - the EKP Receiver for our AVX system has removable lithium-ion batteries that are easily swapped. The battery model number for the EKP Receiver is BA 20 - it has a 4hr run time and can be recharged to 30% in 15 minutes, 60% in 30 minutes, 75% in 40 minutes and to full capacity in 75 minutes. Additionally, the battery can charge while in operation, so you can use a power bank and a USB micro cable to extend the operating time.

Q: 2. One thing that is kind of unclear from the overview, video and all sources I have read online is what powers the receiver. I understand that if you use it with the 3.5mm output for a DSLR you will need the supplied power pack. But if it is connected via XLR to a camera that supplies phantom power will it be able to work endlessly just from the cameras power or does it still need the power pack. The weight of the item is listed without the weight of the power pack. If you need this power pack even with phantom power through XLR, how much is the total weight with power pack?

A: The receiver has a small battery attached. This is the way it's powered. When the receiver is attached to an xlr connection and phantom power is switched on the unit will see the phantom power and shut off and turn on when the camera is turned off or on. The xlr on the camera Does Not power the receiver. It only acts to save the on board battery of the receiver when the camera is turned off/on. The receiver battery lasts for approx. 4 hours.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with G3 wireless transmitters?

A: Nope. But, its so totally worth it to ditch the G3 and buy the AVX wireless transmitter with this receiver. They are an awesome and easy to use pair!

Q: 4. What is the minimum and maximum depth of the second tier?

A: I use the second tier for my Korg Krome which is 12 1/2 deep. The whole tier itself is 16 deep. The stand as a whole is fairly steady - not quite as sturdy as my last Z-stand but much better than any X-stands of which I am not a fan. I highly recommend this stand. It Laizzes les bon temps rouler!

Q: 5. Can it be adjusted high enough for playing while standing ?

A: This keyboard stand is meant for playing while sitting or standing. Height adjustments range from 26.3" (67 cm) to 33.4" (85 cm.)

Q: 6. Will this work with a Tram TR50 lav with a Sennheiser (G4) 3.5mm jack? Cheers

A: Yes, according to Deity this will work with any 3.5mm TRS connector.

Q: 7. Can the receiver be powered/charged via a Dtap source? (DC 11.9-17v, Unregulated). With a Dtap to Microusb cable?

A: The voltage of the Dtap unit would be too much for the battery to handle. A standard usb power brick can be used to charge the batteries. BH #RARPPB010.

Q: 8. Is it possible to pair 2 transmitters to 1 receiver?

A: The Sennheiser AVX receiver unit is only able to pair with a single transmitter simultaneously. For multiple mics operating simultaneously, you will need multiple complete systems. Each transmitter paired to its own receiver.

Q: 9. Will a 10.5 iPad Pro work?

A: Yes. There is an adaptor listed on Avid Web page: https://www.avid.com/products/avid-dock/pro-tools-dock-10-5-ipad-adapter

Q: 10. is the orientation of the xlr male connector adjustable? or is it fixed.

A: If you need more space, use a 1 foot XLR cable to extend.Enter an answer to this question.

[1 User] It holds 6-7 cards plus 4-5 notes. Easy to access any card you need while keeping the overall thickness very low. Like the design.

[1 User] This is a direct replacement for an Avid S3 fader. Very simple to replace, though it didn't include any documentation. Take the cap off the bad fader and remove the 2 screws holding it in. Turn the S3 over Be especially careful when you turn the S3 over to access the rear plate. I folded a clean bath towel over several times and gently placed it on to work on. Unscrew and remove the bottom plate, you may need to pry the plate slightly with a thin tool, take out the loose fader, gently unplug it, plug the new one in. I recommend screwing it in from the top before you replace the bottom plate. then reverse disassembly. When you power it up it the new fader should now be working.

[Download] I purchased the keyboard cover just over a month ago, and have used it with avid every single day since. It makes post production much easier and faster, especially when learning the software. I also own their keyboard for my main machine, but for a laptop this is more than enough.

[Download] Media Composer still wins over the newer options. The biggest plus in media composer is that the workflow makes you do a more professional job as other software where one is seduced into sloppy dragging and dropping and quick fixes. A benefit is also that for each step one wants to take there are many many options on how to get there, resulting in a very individual/artistic way of solving problems. Also the media composer and it file storage system is the most stable when compared.

[1 User] The reviewer who gave this software one star because they could not figure it out to use as event software should have taken the time to learn the software before using it.

The most money I make per hour every year is an event where I sell $2800 in packages in two hours. I shoot thethered to laptop running Darkroom Core. We are shooting on green screen and give the people their choice of backgrounds.

Each photo automatically pops up in Darkroom Core as I shoot it and the person running the laptop puts the image on the correct background then sends to printer by selecting the correct package and the event printers output images.

Darkroom core has paid for itself many times over just by the ability to shoot this event every year.

However, the real reason I bought Darkroom Core is for the green screen knockout ability of the software.

I have paid for and tried out a half dozen different types of software for green screen rendering. THE BEST by far is Darkroom. When you consider it is event software, green screen software, print package software, it is well worth the money.
