The Bower 52mm HD Circular Polarizer Filterhelps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera's autofocus and auto exposure functions.

This filter is constructed from optical glass and features an aluminum filter ring to provide increased rigidity and durability.

Helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface.

Polarizing filters arrange, and filter, directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of the light.

Clears up haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors.

Strongest effect when used at a 90° from the sun.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens fit my vx1000?

A: Yes it will. This lens offers a 52mm threading which matches the front of lens 52mm diameter threading on the camcorder.

Q: 3. Where would one find a spacer for this lens to go on a Vx1000?

A: A 52mm spacer is already included with the lens, and will fit your DCR-VX1000 52mm lens threading.

Q: 4. Can I use a SDR to fit this onto a Canon GL2?

A: Yes, you sure can use a 58-52mm Step-Down Ring to fit the Opteka 52mm 0.3X HD Ultra Fisheye Lens Adapter onto a Canon GL2. Sensei PRO SDR would work. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1068043-REG/sensei_sdrpa_5852_pro_58_52mm_aluminum_step_down.html

Q: 5. Will this fit my vx1000

A: This lens will screw right on to the thread of the VX1000, no adapter or anything needed. Although I would recommend putting a spacer between the lens and the camera to make the fisheye a bit wider, and that way it looks very similar to an MK1 fisheye.

Q: 6. Can I use this on a 58mm lens thread? With a step up ring? Also, is the glass good optical quality?

A: One can use this VL152 on a lens with a 58mm thread using a step up ring: https://bhpho.to/2LkEqav The quality of the optics is good.

Q: 7. I HAVE CANON EOS 7D WITH 67 MM LENS. CAN I USE IT WITH SOME ADAPTER?

A: No you can not use it with adapterYou most use a 52mm lens

Q: 8. Is there any way to adapt this to a panasonic G9? I have an old one laying around I'd like to be able to use.

A: No

Q: 9. Does this fit on a vx2100?

A: Unfortunately no. The Opteka 52mm 0.3X HD Ultra Fisheye Lens Adapter will not work for the Sony DCR VX2100 camcorder with 58mm threading and larger optics require for use of a Fisheye lens.

Q: 10. How does the polarizer compare to Schneider 138mm Circular True-Polarizing Water White Glass Filter? Considering getting the empty rota-tray with the Schneider if that's a better filter and fits the tray. Thanks

A: The included circular polarizer filter is manufactured from Schott B270 glass and is considered a mid-efficiency filter. It would be only be a small upgrade in price to purchase the empty Rota-Tray and put the Schneider True-Polarizing Water White Glass Filter in to the system.

[Glass] This CPL filter was simple and good quality. The rotating bezel was smooth in operation, yet stayed in place of the desired angle of polarization.

[52 mm] Repeating another customer's review, with some more details:
Yes, it does protect your lens' front glass (not whole lens :) )from scratches, dust, fingerprints slight hits (from cracking and breaking) - believe me, if lens gets real hit, lens internals (focusing, aperture, zooming, VR motors and gears) will get real damage as well as internal glasses might be shifted etc. so, even if you have most expensive protective UV filter attached or even bulletproof glass, this will not save your lens...
Yes, it does cut off polarised light filtering and for it's price it is more than satisfactory. you always have choice for Zeiss and other high grade CPL filters and just has 1-1.5 stop EV reduction.
Yes, it does add distortions to lens optical characteristics and might degrade it, BUT, more or less those distortions are applied even by most expensive filter attachments, any lens is produced by manufacturer as is and it's characteristics are calculated without any add-ons.
Anyway, with advanced or flagship cameras, you still have to worry about other kinds of distortions, moire caused by excessive MP of sensors, cross pixel noises, active sensing area to pixel size (pixel fill ratio) issues, gap or gapless micro lenses on sensors, vibrations at camera lens mount point, moving elements inside lens etc... list might be endless and definitely you have to do post-processing of your images and you can correct slight distortions added by this UV filter.
So, except highest grade, topmost filters of any specific kind (UV, CPL, ND, etc.), which have significant optical performance, you are getting great attachment for your lens, especially for its price.

[Glass] great filter for the price of it i stack it on a UV filter that i leave on my canon 70-200 with IS ii. I mainly use it for portrait and landscape photos just like the description says its a little over a 1 stop filter screw on nice and easy. Doesn't affect my auto focusing because its a circular polarizer.
