Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can ZEISS Milvus 21mm f/2.8 ZF.2 mount on a D850 without adapter?

A: Yes, the Nikon D850 uses a F-mount. The Milvus lineup also uses the F-mount. So you will not need an adapter to use this lens on the D850.

Q: 2. Will the de-clicked iris work well with the video on my d780, or does it still need to be locked on like f16 for the Nikon CPU not to Fritz out. If it works well I will probably grab this and an 85 for my film making

A: The aperture of the ZEISS Milvus 35mm f/1.4 ZF.2 Lens for Nikon F has a de-click feature specifically for filmmaking applications. To use the manual aperture on the lens, you will need to set this in the camera menu (go to F5 customize command dials, aperture setting and change from sub-command dial to aperture ring).

Q: 3. Is the lens hood removable to allow graduated ND filters to be used without a space between the filter and the lens on the Zeiss 15mm Milvus?

A: The lens shade on the ZEISS Milvus 2.8/15 is removable, allowing use of gradated filters in front of the lens element.

Q: 4. How many blades does the diaphram have? Are they rounded?

A: The lens has 9-blade circular aperture.

Q: 5. Does this lens have internal focusing? I would be using it with a matte box and would like to keep the option of filters open.

A: The ZEISS Milvus 1.4/25 features internal focusing and there is no front telescoping of the barrel while focusing.

Q: 6. Would it work with aparture priority, automatic ISO and shutter priority modes of Canon 5DSR? Also, does this camera correct for distortion and fringing as it does for Canon lenses?

A: Aperture Priority - Yes. Aperture is controlled in the lens by the camera body.Shutter Priority - Yes. Shutter speed is wholly a camera body function and is not affected by choice of lens.Automatic ISO - Yes. ISO is wholly a camera body function and is not affected by choice of lens. The in-camera lens correction for in-camera JPEG images only works with Canon lenses.

Q: 7. if i were to use the manual focus Zeiss Milvus on a 5D Mark iv, are there replacement focussing screens for the camera?

A: Unfortunately 5d mark iv focusing screen is not user replaceable and we do not carry any options for that camera.

Q: 8. Does this lens come with a Zeiss Lens gear?

A: No, the ZEISS Milvus lenses do not ship with the ZEISS LensGears. These need to be ordered separately. In the case of the Milvus 2.8/18, the proper item is 2174-298 and can be found at: a href= https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1248176-REG/zeiss_2174_298_lens_gear_mini.html target= _blank https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1248176-REG/zeiss_2174_298_lens_gear_mini.html/a

Q: 9. Does this lens have hard stops?

A: Yes the lens does have hard stops and you can use the aperture ring manually if you so choose; however, there is also an option to de-click the aperture ring using a tiny tool that is included with the lens. It is very simple to do. So if you are shooting video or you just prefer to not have hard stops than you can use the lens this way. If you prefer hard stops it can do that too! Best of both worlds

Q: 10. is it sealed against dust and moisture?

A: I'm sorry - I really don't know. Sorry!

[Gold] I have a professional background in cable manufacturing, and must say... these are VERY nicely crafted cables. Canare wire is of good quality. I have always found it to be limber, lays flat, and the copper is pure which takes solder very well.

I really like the "locking" banana connectors that are used on these cables. For those that aren't familiar with the concept... the banana conductor will expand when the ring of the connector is turned. Plug it in, give the ring a clockwise twist, and the pin of the connector will expand within the binding post ensuring a solid connection and keeping the connector inserted snugly. Rotating the ring counter clockwise retracts the pin allowing the connector be removed freely.

These cables are dressed nicely and look great. I'm not a cable snob and not into the high end stuff, but when it comes to "value" these cables are it!

For the money, you can't go wrong.

[Gold] I've looked everywhere to find these type of cables. When I finally found them on B&H i couldn't be more happier. I could tell the difference between my old THX cables and these instantly. These are a steal for the price paid.

[Black] Works well, shinier, thicker and looks far more expensive than the AudioQuest, which is the purpose of this kind of cables. Highly recommended.
