Integrated into the ultraCage are top and bottom 15mm rod clamps. This allows the cage to serve a foundation for building up your rig, whether is for handheld, shoulder-mounted, or studio applications. Adding top rods is ideal for mounting accessories such a monitor, audio recorder, or wireless video transmitter, while bottom rods let you add a matte box and follow focus, as well as support accessories such as a shoulder mount and hand grips.

Your DSLR camera is secured in the ultraCage by a 1/4"-20 captive screw, locking pin (for compatible cameras), and a universal adjustable shoe clamp. These multiple contact points keep the camera from shifting in the cage. The cage also leaves all buttons, ports, and battery door accessible so you won't have to remove the camera from the cage during shoots. 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting holes along the sides let you attach accessories and support brackets, or even directly mount the cage to a Steadicam, car mount, or crane. Bottom threads are available for mounting on a tripod or quick-release plate.

A: This cage is large enough to accommodate DSLR sized cameras. The A7S II will fit in it, however you may find this cage too big. You may want to look in to more form fitting options designed specifically for the Sony A7SII.

Q: 7. How can you change the focus throw?? I get how to change Gain/smoothness but want to adjust the throw. At the moment, if you turn the Remote only a few millimetres it will focus the lens quite extremely. I hope that makes sense!?

A: Hi Dane - the microRemote has 270 degrees of throw which should be more than enough for almost any lens (with the exception of macro lenses that have )you can manually calibrate to a portion of the lens' throw so you can get even more granularity for shots that have limited range. Q: 10. Could the Letus Helix Jr power this? Can the control wheel be powered separately or does it have to go into the base station?

A: The control wheel must be connected to the base station so that not only is it powered but it's signal can be passed to the focus motor.
