Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the base width? 50mm? 60mm?

A: According to the manufacturer, the base diameter is 41mm.

Q: 2. Is there enough room to use this with a BlackRapid strap and is it strong enough? Would BlackRapid's FastnerT-1 work with Oben QR plates?

A: The space in the ring of the 1/4 -20 Screw with D-Ring for QR Plates is NOT large enough for my BlackRapid strap clamp. I am considering replacing the plate I use this, with a plate that has an extended feature specifically to use the strap without removing the tripod plate.I do not know about the T-1 (don't have/have not used)

Q: 3. What is the length of the shaft?

A: The thread is 1/4"-20 and the length of the screw is 1/2"

Q: 4. Will this screw fit the QR plate of the Manfrotto 410 head? If not, is there a D-RIng type screw that will fit it?

A: You will want the proprietary Manfrotto 1/4 screws.

Q: 5. Is there a screw that is longer? The threads in my camera are recessed, and this screw (that came with my tripod) isn't long enough to reach them.

A: use a quick release plate, buy a longer screw with the plate. Done

Q: 6. Can anyone tell me the diameter for un-threaded shaft section? I need to find an e-clip or circlip to fit this screw.

A: The diameter of the unthreaded shank extending from the head is 0.180 inches.

Q: 7. Can this be used with a MEFoto tripod. I wish to replace the existing screw on the Induro PU50 plate and replace with this D ring. Will it work?

A: If you can take the screw out of the Induro PU50 plate, you should be able to use this to replace it.

Q: 8. Will this screw fit the small hole on the base of the BENRO PC-0 clamp? There are two SMALL holes on the base and I need such a screw for one of those holes

A: Unfortunately we cannot test these items. The Benro PC-0 is discontinued and the screw is a special-order item. It would be our best guess that the sockets underneath the pan head would be the same and it would be compatible with this screw, but you should contact the original manufacturer to get the exact measurements and specifications.

Q: 9. What's the exact length? (Including the head and then the shaft only). I have a 3.5mm thick arca plate and 5.5mm depth tripod mount in the camera. On the other hand, the clearance for the head inside the plate is 6mm.

A: I have one of the 1/4 20 screws with D ring for fastening. I measured the overall length as 11.94mm and the threaded shaft is 8.25mm long. The head thickness is4mm and the depth of the plate for the head is 7mm. The screw works just fine and no need for tools to get the screw nicely tightened to the camera. The D ring folds down and fits in the plate properly to permit easy fit to the mount.Bob Haas

[0.01 lb] I needed a couple of the screws to create an addon baseplate for my cameras. I purchased a couple of monopods for camera stability as constantly carrying a tripod can be difficult. My Blackrapid neck straps use the tripod hole, so I made a 1/4" metal plate with a hole to pass the screw through...this hold the plate in position and allows the strap to be connected to the hole on the back of the screw. I also tapped a threaded hole in the plate so that I could screw the monopod to it also. This gives me the ability to quickly use either the strap or the monopod... I can also use the tripod in the threaded hole.
