The HDMI to SDI Converter with 3D Support - Lynx Technik AGfrom HDMI to SDI Converter with 3D Support - Lynx Technik AGconverts most HDMI sources up to 1080p60, including 3D material, to SDI. It features two SDI outputs, which support SD-SDI, HD-SDI, and 3G-SDI. In addition, the converter will pass up to 8 channels of HDMI-embedded audio into the SDI stream. Where extended cable runs are required on the output side, there is a Fiber SFP cage on the side of the unit that allows installation of the OH-TX-1 fiber optic transmitter, sold separately.

Q: 2. Can I use this converter with the HDMI connection of my Macbook Pro? Will I be limited to mirroring my own display or can I use that converter to stream a second SDI monitor?

A: I have done both from my MacBook. I also needed a usb-c to hdmi cable since my MacBook didn’t have an hdmi port, but it worked well.

A: Yes. Setting can be changed via usb control panel. According to manufacture you can connect an SDI-in and it simultaneously releases SDI -out and HDMI-out together with no control panel setting adjustments.

[12 VDC] Im a film editor and Assistant editor and find myself often temping in color for preliminary cuts of things. Having a broadcast accurate color monitor with full image controls is really helpful. I have found that monitors designed for computers or for gaming don't have the specific color controls that have been standardized for my kind of work. And that they insist on burying their interface controls in software menus rather than being physical buttons and knobs on the device. Maybe this is just a pet peeve for me but the tactile controls just feel more intuitive to me and I always feel like I'm wasting mental energy trying to figure out navigating software menus that have controls in a series of nested tabs. At the same time most broadcast monitors are prohibitively expensive. This monitor is a great middle ground. It works well, the image is great and the controls are geared directly to my needs. 5

[1 x HDMI] You just plug it in and it works. The best thing is you still retain and HDMI out while adding SDI out. Great for getting video to two separate devices. 5

[1.595 lb] I own a couple of these and they are great devices overall. Along with the conversion I also use them as kind of a kick cable tester. The signal strength indicator often clues me in on whether or not my cable has some kind of problem. Someone else here said the converter can not do 1080p60 but I am using it with that resolution all the time out of a Roland VR-50HDMKII video switcher. Never had a problem with any output resolution. One big note on this converter. It can ONLY do 3G-SDI Level A. It does not work with Level B. Otherwise these units have been no problem at all in the field. Someone else came up with the idea to put a little plexiglass cover on the top to protect the built in monitor. I thought that was a great idea and have done that for my units. 5

[1.595 lb] After seeing the negative review left for this product, I was a little hesitant about purchasing this. However, when I went in to the store and saw this monitor, I saw that it was pretty good for the price. I tinkered with the settings a bit and got a picture I was happy with. I used it on my first commercial shoot and I am very pleased with how it performed. Client was very happy too. Also, viewing angle was not a problem at all during the shoot. No complaints. 5

[1 x HDMI] I got this test long SDI runs for signal which so far does a great job at. Dip switches in the back to change settings. Being a Converter and scaler that I can use in a pinch is a bonus. 5

[12 VDC] I'd like to add that I had no issue attaching the impact vesa mount to baby pin adapter to get the monitor on to light stand. 5
