Chimera TECH Lightbank for ikan ID500/v2 LED Lightsis an ideal light shaping tool for narrowing the ID500 or ID500-v2's beam and diffusing its output. The lightbank simply slips onto the light's integrated barndoors without support poles or speed rings. The supplied standard 30° Front Lens Screen reduces spill light and provides directional control of the output. Use the included 1/4 and full grid cloths individually with the lens or together for varying degrees of softness.

A: While you may get diffusers of different strengths for the front of the softbox, there are no inner baffles or diffusers designed for use inside the Chimera Universal LED TECH Lightbank (1 x 1').

Q: 3. Does Chimera offer a soft-grid to fit this box?

A: Rotolight does not offer the grid as an accessory for the Neo so I suspect one is not available. However, you might want to check with Chimera to see if they have anything that works.

Q: 4. will this work with Chauvet professional 0n air 1x1 panel?

A: Chimera Universal LED TECH Lightbank (1 x 1') BH #CH1655 will not fit the CHAUVET PROFESSIONAL onAir IP Panel 1 Full Spectrum LED Soft Light BH #CHONAIRPNL1I which is much larger than a typical 1x1 panel.

A: It would not be a good fit for the Timpani.

A: Not sure it will or not, due to that light being a flash and the fuse is for a constant light.

Q: 10. Does the Chimera 1648 have a silver interior? It appears that the front face is interchangeable. Is there any light loss compared to a bare Area48 (I ask because the DOP choice soft box uses a silver interior to reflect some of the side spill forward and increases the output by 1 stop).

A: The Chimera 1648 No Frame Softbox for BBS Area 48 has a soft silver interior. It comes with two (2) different front screens, one with 1/2 density diffusion and one with 1/4 density diffusion.

[Silver] Five stars because it's a Chimera and it does what it's supposed to do. It also comes with three different diffusion covers so you have some options. But unlike the classic Chimera that has a frame, hooks into a speed ring, and can go on any light that accepts rings or scrims, this seems like it will only work on the Ikan 576s. There's no frame; it slides over the barn doors of the fixture and uses the built-in gel clips to secure itself in front of the LED bulbs. So if you have a different budget LED light of a similar size and you want this to work it will take some gaff taping. Maybe Chimera has a model for everything. I don't know; I haven't looked. 5

[Yes] We have tried to build our own Snoots for the 1x1 in the past. Nothing compares to this product for fit, durability and ease of use. If you have a 1x1 LitePanel and need to control the spill this product is well worth the money spent. 5

[Yes] I'm a gaffer and use mine on Litepanels Astras.� I much prefer this to the bag model that litepanels pushes.� It leaves plenty room for the vents and it sets up quicker and folds down smaller.� Someone posted in a review that it covered up the vents., I will post a picture to show otherwise. 5

[Yes] Know that the Rotolight barn doors are necessary to use this. It is not at first obvious that the barn door wings slip into almost invisible pockets that are built into the Chimera. A simple installation note would have been a time-saver. Pleasing quality of light. It would be nice if the Rotolight carry-pouch was big enough to include the barn doors and Chimera folded up. 5
