The Pearstone PM Series TRS Male to XLR Female Cable 15'is ideal for audio applications in which a device with an XLR output needs to be connected to a device with a balanced 1/4" input. Typical scenarios include connecting a microphone preamp to a line input on a mixer or connecting an outboard effects processor to an aux return.

The cable is equipped with 24-gauge oxygen-free copper conductors and spiral shielding to protect against EMI and RFI noise. The professional-grade cast-zinc Rean XLR connector is field serviceable and features silver-plated contacts, while the Rean 1/4" TRS connector features a molded design for maximum strain relief. The twin conductive PVC shield reduces electrostatic noise and distinguishes the PM series as the best value in its class.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will it work with takstar sgc-598?

A: That adapter will work for the Takstar SGC-598 microphone, to connect to an XLR input. Since that Takstar mic is battery powered, the less costly ROVXLR adapter would also work: https://bhpho.to/3AOKIE9

Q: 2. Would it work for SmartLav+ to Zoom H6 XLR inputs?

A: Yes it will but you will need to get an adapter for your SmartLav as the connector on the SmartLav is a TRRS. In order for you to use the XLR Power Converter you will need an adapter to change the lav connector from TRRS to TRS. This is the B&H part number for the adapter B&H#ROSC3. Once your TRRS becomes a TRS them you can use the XLR power converter with the H6.

Q: 3. Is this adapter fully compatible with Sennheiser ME2 lapel mics?

A: Yes, it works with the ME2. The VXLR-Plus is the perfect alternative to going wireless. So I nstead of connecting the ME2 to the G3 wireless transmitter, simply connect your ME2 (or most other 3.5mm lapels) to the Rode VXLR-Plus and you have a hard-wired connection. Just make sure that the device you are connecting the VXLR-Plus to (i.e. your camera or recorder), has 48 volt phantom power enabled and you should be good to go.

Q: 4. Can this allow me to use a RODE videomicGO on a SONY HXR-NX100? The Sony only has XLR inputs.

A: It should. I use it on all my cameras that have XLR inputs and it works great.

Q: 5. Can I use this to connect the DJI Mic2 Transmitter to a Rodecaster Pro 1?

A: The RODE VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter can work to output from a DJI Mic 2 receiver, to the XLR input on a Rodecaster Pro, together with a 3.5mm output cable. Since the power conversion is not needed for this setup, I would recommend the less costly Rode VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter instead: https://bhpho.to/42sHsNK . Depending on the situation, especially if wireless is not needed, you may also want to consider other microphone options. Please reach out to us for help choosing one that meets your specific requirements.

Q: 6. Hi, Does this adapter come with the clip that goes around the middle? I don't see it on the pics...

A: From what I see on Rode's site, this does not come with any belt clip. For an adapter that does, I would recommend the Deity #DEDXLR, which also does the same job.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with balanced or unbalanced XLR?

A: The VXLR+ is designed to convert high voltage phantom power used with pro balanced XLR mic inputs into much lower bias voltage (plug-in power) that is needed by many unbalanced electret condenser mics like lavalier mics and shotgun style camera mics.

Q: 8. Will this work with VC1 3.5mm 10' Extension cable that requires a plugin power or do I need VXLR Pro ?

A: Yes the Rode VC1 extension cable will work with the Rode VXLR+ adapter.

Q: 9. Can this convert unbalanced TRS to balanced XLR?

A: This adapter will not balance the microphone signal. You can use it to connect stereo 3.5mm wired microphones to XLR inputs. This version does have a transformer balanced output: https://bhpho.to/2WQbqxK

Q: 10. is this needed for zoom h6 and rode wireless go?

A: No. The adapter you want is the Rode VXLR (B&H # ROVXLR) since you only need to convert the 3.5mm plug to XLR. The VXLR+ is used when you are using a condenser style microphone like a lavalier mic with a 3.5mm connector and need to connect it to an XLR mic input on a recorder or mixer. For instance, if you have a separate lavalier mic that you use with the Wireless GO transmitter, such as the Rode Lavalier GO, it is a condenser mic that requires plug-in power, which is a low voltage. A recorder or mixer's XLR input can supply phantom power, which is typically 48V and way too much power for a lavalier mic. The VXLR+ converts the 48V to a much lower voltage and allows you to use a mic like the Lavalier GO which requires 2.7V and connect it directly to an XLR input on the H6.

[10 x 7.1 x 1.2"] One of the issues I have with some TRS adapters is the housing past the plug itself is so bulky that it is difficult to get two adapters plugged into dual channel ports on a compact mixer. This TRS plug is nice and slim and you should have no problem using a pair of them with a compact mixer.
