The Pearstone PM Series TRS to XLR Cable 6'is ideal for audio applications in which a device with an XLR output needs to be connected to a device with a balanced 1/4" input. Typical scenarios include connecting a microphone preamp to a line input on a mixer or connecting an outboard effects processor to an aux return.

The cable is equipped with 24-gauge oxygen-free copper conductors and spiral shielding to protect against EMI and RFI noise. The professional-grade cast-zinc Rean XLR connector is field serviceable and features silver-plated contacts, while the Rean 1/4" TRS connector features a molded design for maximum strain relief. The twin conductive PVC shield reduces electrostatic noise and distinguishes the PM series as the best value in its class.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. So I can have two back up tracks. One for each input?

A: When using the backup recording function included on devices such as the H6, a stereo backup file will be created. The left side of the file will be from input 1 of the EXH-6, the right side of the file will be created by input 2. This stereo file can be split into two separate mono files in post.

Q: 2. Is it compatible with the Zoom H8 recorder? Looks like not because it may be in the way of the top two xlr inputs on the h8?

A: Yes, the Zoom EXH-6 Dual XLR/TRS Combo Input Capsule for H5, H6, and F4 Recorders is compatible with the Zoom H8 recorder.

Q: 3. Looking for cable to connect the Vello Freewave Wireless Shutter Release to my FujiXT-2. Vello receiver sized for 2.5mm. XT-2 has 2.5mm or 3.5mm available. Will this work for this application?

A: Take a look at the camera's manuel, if the 3.5 is for remote hook up, no, if the 2.5 MM is for audio that should tell you same thing. My Fujifilm XF-100F uses 2.5 MM port for both MIC/REMOTE and is clearly labeled as such. This being my first Fuji camera can't really speak to the XT-2 but......if you are not using PS (non web based) to process you Fuji Raw files may I ask what program you are using. CS5, ON1 and DxO do not support Fuji RAW, ON1 will process it but converts to Adobe RGB thus negating the menu driving film styles in the camera.

Q: 4. Will this module still provide the power to enable lav mics without power to work. In other words if I connect two lavs with xlr jacks will they each provide the voltage that the stereo 3.5mm jack did on the standard xy mic module, Not looking for phantom power, I know they won't do that. Also will this module still retain creating a backup -12db stereo tracks from the LR channels.?

A: This unit does not provide phantom power but you already know that. If you are talking about a wireless lav mic then yes, it will work because the power comes from the receiver, usually powered with batteries, with a XLR output that you plug into the module. Again, the module supplies NO power to the mic receiver and of course a wireless lav mic must also have a powered transmitter in order to provide a signal for the powered receiver. As far as I know the 3.5mm jack is NOT powered. It is simply an input for a stereo mic. Depending on how you configure the recorder (which mode you select) determines how you record each channel (independently vs. stereo) and as such, allows you to record an independent mono track with a 12db variance.

Q: 5. Why does this module have a power input? Can it be used by itself as a separate recorder?

A: The DC5V USB-C power input on the Zoom EXH-6e Dual XLR-1/4" TRS Input Capsule for H6essential Portable Recorder would be used for powering condenser microphones with an XLR connector, because these types of mics require 48V phantom power.

Q: 6. When connected to the H5, will the L/R backup track feature still be available?

A: The backup recording feature is available when recording the L/R inputs with any of the available modules.

Q: 7. What is the input impedance on these XLR ports? Do they support a Hi-Z mode for guitar pickups? Trying to figure out the easiest way to add a DI for H5/H6

A: John is correct, the XLR/TRS inputs are not Hi-Z inputs for guitars. I recommend running guitars through a direct box and then into the XLR inputs of the Zoom.

Q: 8. Does this cable work between a Panasonic GH4 and a Beachtek MCC-2 adapter? Thank you.

A: The GH4 will have a3.5mm mic input unlike the older Lumix cameras. The SC25 will not be necessary. The standard 3.5 jack will work, the SC35 which is available separately, but included with most Beachtek products including the MCC-2 a href= http://bhpho.to/1C8lNYP target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1C8lNYP/a

Q: 9. does this work with Zoom H6 All Black (2020 Version)?

A: Yes. This will work with the Zom H6

Q: 10. Would this cable provide separate tracks out of the UwMic9, or will it be both channels mixed into both XLR’s?

A: Both channels would be mixed on both XLRs because all of the audio from both microphones is coming from a single output on the Saramonic RX9 receiver.

[6 x 5 x 1"] Great for studio use and an decent quality for the price. For live sound/stage/road use you might want something tougher, though this seems like a pretty decent mid-tier cable/connector.

[Yes] I bought this interconnect for my home studio setup. The rubber casing is solid, and the connectors click in with a satisfying thump. No noise or signal problems. For home studios, where you set and forget, these are great. Not planning for live usage, so I can't attest to that.

[Black] Good sturdy cables (not the cheap, low-gauge, thin kind) with good quality connectors.
