The ASUS BW-16D1HT SATA 16X Blu-ray Rewriterfrom ASUS BW-16D1HT SATA 16X Blu-ray Rewriterfeatures an enhanced 16X Blu-ray disc writing speed. This ensures you can burn data to Blu-ray discs quickly and efficiently. Additionally, you can also take advantage of 16X DVD write speeds and 48X CD write speeds. Accompanying enhanced data write speeds, you can read data from BD-R discs at speeds of 12X, DVD-R discs at speeds of 16X, and CD-R discs at speeds of 48X.

This ASUS Blu-ray Disc Writer is also compatible with M-Disc optical media allowing you to etch your data into these discs for long term storage. If you intend on storing a large amount of data you can utilize BDXL optical media to store up to 128GB of data on a single disc. [Yes] Strangest thing: On my new Windows 10 computer build, this unit would not recognize audio CDs or audio CDs with just data on them--in fact, it simply spit them out. It was fine with DVDs and Blu-Ray discs. Then the following day, and from then on, it's recognizing all discs--even 20-year old audio discs with data. Go figure! Burned a Blu-Ray data disc with no problem. Was the initial problem with Windows or the player. Will never know. 5

[Tray] Less then $100 and I can transfer my home movies to disc as well as listen to Billy Joel on CD while doing stuff like this. I refuse to pay for streaming services as I am retired and no longer commuting. I use my S21 as a phone period. (needed 5g when my perfectly good 3g LG could no longer access the tower) I totally get that young people rarely use a cd player, but they are on the move and streaming works for them. This is in my desk top which is not really portable in the first place :) and I have LOTS of CD's dating back to Old Blue Eyes. Bottom line: It works as intended and less then $100. 5

[Tray] Bought this drive to replace a 10 year old Asus dvd-rw drive. I am in the process of backing up my CD collection, and the old drive wasn't happy after a few solid days of ripping. Once I installed this drive, I was ripping 5x faster! Approx. 5-15 minutes per CD, and with NO errors. It does slow down a little after about 5 consecutive rips, which puts it in the 10-15 min. Range. Have not tested bluray or dvd functions so I can't comment on those capabilities. 5

[1.81 lb] Never had any issues with my drive! I would buy again no problem. It is a fast drive and a little noisey but not really that bad compared to the rest! 5
