The DAC-25 25mm Mini Clamp from Desmond is a short 1" (25mm) aluminum Arca-type compatible clamp. A locking knob opens and closes the clamp to adjust or remove the plate. It has a 3/8"-16 threaded hole to mount the clamp onto a tripod, and also comes with a 1/4"-20 bushing adapter. Three slots on the clamp are available for attaching camera straps.

Q: 1. Anyone knows what is the twist locking mechanism when mounting on a manfrotto ball head? It looks to me that it may twist, as the plate has a groove and the ball head leaver has a groove also.

A: I would definitely recommend that you also purchase the Desmond DBAD Female to Male Boss Adapter, available from B and H, which is quite inexpensive. It has a ridge on one side which fits in the groove on the underside of the Desmond quick release clamp, and a ridge on the other side which fits in the groove on the Manfrotto ball head lever. The Boss Adapter keeps the quick release camp from turning, and holds it solidly in place. The Boss Adapter also comes with a hex key, and the proper length of hex screw to attach the Desmond QR clamp to the Manfrotto ballhead. I used this combination to convert a Manfrotto 494RC2 ballhead, and a 496RC2 ballhead, and everything works perfectly.

A: Unfortunately, this clamp only comes in an end jaw version.

A: The face-up side is a felted material. They would be ruined if you got ketchup on them.

A: Yes, the Desmond DBA-2 is lighter, slimmer, has the laser engraved measurement markings and the larger removable bubble level when compared to the Desmond DBA-1.

Q: 8. is it compatible with manfrotto monopod 562B-1?

A: If you can remove the quick release clamp on the 562B-1, you could use one of the clamps in this set to attach with. However, this would require the use of Arca type plates.

A: According to the manufacturer this stand has a 1/4" 20 male post on the end of it under the ball.

A: The middle hole does have thread. That is how it attaches to my monopod.
