The Concert 288 Dual-Channel Wireless Handheld Microphone System with Q6 Capsules (Band H) from Samson offers a high-performance UHF wireless solution where the freedom of mobility is required for two performers simultaneously. It’s suitable for pairs of singers, business professionals, educators, and others looking for clear sound and versatility without cables.

The frequency-agile Concert 288 allows for up to 20 systems (40 performers) to perform simultaneously across two frequency bands. It gives both performers a 300’ range of wireless operation between the transmitters and receiver, making the system suitable for large stages and crowd participation. To ensure interference-free performance, the Concert 288 features a true-diversity design. In case a dropout occurs, the receiver’s Tone Key and Auto Mute functions eliminate any background noise until the signal is restored.

Featuring a user-friendly front panel, the CR288 Wireless Receiver provides the system with fast and easy setup. The CR288 provides two Select buttons for auto syncing the receiver and transmitter channels via an infrared signal, allowing you to find your optimal channel. The panel also contains a dual seven-segment LED for the operating channels, two volume knobs, two tuned antennas as well as Ready and Peak indicators for optimal functionality and monitoring. The back of the receiver features two separate balanced XLR outputs for routing signals to two separate channels on a mixer as well as a 1/4” unbalanced mix output that condense both signals to a single channel for a direct connection into a PA speaker (not included).

The Concert 288 Handheld System features two CH288 handheld wireless transmitters with Q6 dynamic, supercardioid mic capsules. The transmitters, which can operate for up to eight hours on two AA batteries each, are engineered to provide the ultimate in sound reproduction.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the handheld mic accept a heil capsule or is it not replaceable ?

A: This is not replacable.

Q: 2. Does it have handling noise?

A: The Samson Concert 288 SWC288HQ6 Dual-Handheld 16-Channel True Diversity Wireless System has a low signal to noise ratio of 85 dB. With normal use, handling noise for the handheld transmitters should be minimal or not noticeable.

Q: 3. I need a mic to do interviews with my fuji xt2, will this work?

A: This mic would work well with your camera, but a receiver is required as well. The Samson Go Mic Mobile Digital Wireless System with Q8 Dynamic Handheld Mic/Transmitter, BH #SASWGMMSHHQ8 would have everything you need to connect the wireless mic to the Fujifilm XT2 camera.

Q: 4. Can you transmit to two receivers? I'd like to receive the transmission at my camera as well as the house sound mixer.

A: I am not positive but it would seem that two receivers both set to the same channel should receive the same signal from one transmitter set to that channel. I too will appreciate the answer to this. I can try it for you but I won't be back at my equipment for about three weeks.

Q: 5. I have two of these units installed in a 40' x 50' room connected via unbalanced outputs to a Dennon PA Amp. Everything works well with all 4 mics when testing the system in an empty room. Once they hold a meeting and fill the room with about 80 people, there is popping and cracking noises. They have shut done all but one of the mics and that seems to solve the problem. I even spread out the operating channels for the mics to prevent interference between the transmitters. Any suggestions as to the source of the problem?

A: Mine make popping sounds as well. I have used many brands in the past. I'm not a fan of the infra red system, it wastes time and they are still not clear. My Voco Pros work good, but that is a four mic rack system.

Q: 6. What type of a mic adapter end fits in the body pack?

A: The body pack transmitters require a compatible female 3 pin mini XLR connector.

Q: 7. Will a heil capsule work on the handheld mic , using the base as the transmitter to the receiver for better bass solo sounds?

A: This will only work with the Samson capsule

Q: 8. How to buy ?

Q: 9. can I get a headset mic and a guitar system? with the 288

A: Unfortunately Samson does not offer a bundle that comes with the headset and guitar cable for it. The closest you can get to it would be to get a Samson Concert 288 that comes with two belt pack transmitters like B&H # SASWC288PRSI (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1121211-REG/samson_swc288pres_i_concert_288_presentation_dual_channel.html) with the Samson GC32 guitar cable to use with one of the belt packs. http://www.samsontech.com/samson/products/accessories/samson-parts-and-accessories/swagc32/

Q: 10. What mixer/amplifer and what size outdoor speakers would be recommended to use with this system?

A: The Fender Passport EVENT would work very well with your VocoPro VHF-3005. See attachment.

[Handheld] Once I figured out the colored rings around the top and bottom of the microphones it was very easy to set up. One mic comes pre set as mic A and one as mic B. I figured that, used the IR to set it and I was off and running. I can set this up with my Fender Passport Event or my smaller Anchor Audio AC 130+. This was $ less than the Shure microphone set up and I very happy that I purchased this over the Shure.

[<1 %] This a great set of microphones from a well known company. Only decent set I could find that had a mix out so that I use single channel on my board. Amazing quality, no drop outs and plenty of channel options to choose from. Best both in price and quality.

[Yes] This Samson equipment is a very cost effective unit for Church audio systems. Easy to setup, instruct on usage and the performance of this unit is excellent for the money. Will purchase again for the next installation where a budgeted amount is of concern.
