The QSC TouchMix-8 Compact Digital Mixer Touchscreenfrom QSC TouchMix-8 Compact Digital Mixer Touchscreenis a 14-input digital mixer that features 8 built-in mic preamplifiers that can be controlled by its integrated touchscreen or wirelessly via an iPad connected to the same wireless network. The mixer features a DSP-based, 4-band parametric EQ with variable high- and low-pass filters, a gate, and compressor on each input channel. The TM-8's DSP also provides reverb, echo, delay, and chorus effects in addition to assignable pitch correction.

The mixer is also capable of multitrack recording with sampling frequencies up to 48 kHz to an optional external USB hard drive. A USB Wi-Fi adapter and carrying case are included.

Q: 1. My blue tooth indicates a connection but there is no audio. I had audio for about one minute then it dropped off. Any suggestions as to how to get the audio back?

A: Try turning off the mixer for 12 seconds, then turning it back on and attempt the Bluetooth pairing again. Bluetooth signal in general can be interfered with if there are other Bluetooth devices being used in close proximity. If possible, make sure those other devices are off when using Bluetooth on the mixer. If the connection is made and there's still no audio, please make sure the main level is turned up on the mixer so audio will pass to your speakers. If the problem persists, please give Pyle Pro a call at 800-444-5671.

Q: 2. Will not connect to Windows 11 from USB out. I don't find any drivers. What do I use?

A: Please make sure to work with a data cable. The USB output would work with webcam apps or OBS. If your computer only has a Type-C port, you can use a USB-A to Type-C cable to transmit the webcam signal. Please note that the Type-C cable you choose needs to support data transmission. The signal is recognized in Windows and MAC system. A good cable would be: Pearstone USB-C 3.1 to USB-A Charge & Sync Cable (3') B&H # PEUSB313CMA3

Q: 3. Can we operate it with battery in the field?

A: The Allen & Heath CQ-12T Compact 12-Channel Digital Mixer with Touchscreen is not battery-powered.

Q: 4. Is it possible to have a mic channel only go through the aux without having any audio in the main mix? Think Talkback for aband.

A: No, it is not possible to assign a mic channel from the Mackie 802VLZ4 8-Channel Ultra-Compact Mixer to go only through the Aux Send and not the Main Mix.

Q: 5. I'm hoping that microphones are still operative while in any mode ... is that correct?

A: Yes you just have to change the channel from line to mic. Or the other way round.

Q: 6. Do the HDMI inputs carry audio? If I set up four small video cameras will this input and switch the audio from those individual cameras along with their respective video feeds? Looking to use this to configure a hybrid videoconferencing setup...multiple people in same physical location...ie boardrooms, classrooms.

A: Yes, the HDMI inputs on the CAME-TV Multicamera HDMI/USB Video Mixer Switcher with 5.5" Touchscreen LCD (B&H# CAL2PLUS) will indeed carry audio such that the audio carried by each HDMI video feed will be transmitted with its corresponding audio.

A: The Gemini GEM-8USB Compact 8-Channel Bluetooth Audio Mixer can be used with a wireless microphone system connected to an XLR input and the audio output can be sent to a computer via USB, as well as to a camcorder through the RCA record output. and PA speakers can be connected to the 1/4" left and right main outputs. The GEM-8USB does include a built-in Bluetooth receiver to stream audio from a Bluetooth-enabled device like a smartphone, tablet or computer into the mixer, but it does not have a built-in Bluetooth transmitter to be able to send audio from the mixer out to a Bluetooth speaker.

Q: 8. The spec says, "Power Supply External AC Connector: 2-Pin IEC 250 VAC". Does this mean this will work on 110V - 250V?

A: The Mackie 402VLZ4 4-Channel Ultra-Compact Mixer that we sell comes packaged with a power supply for use in North America. The included power supply is compatible for use with 100 to 120V only.

Q: 9. Can the INSERT jack be used as splitter by inserting to the first click?

A: The insert jack of the Mackie 802VLZ4 8-Channel Ultra-Compact Mixer (BH # MA802VLZ4) should not be used as a splitter function as described. There would be a good chance that noise would be introduced into the signal chain. [HDD] I was really on the fence prior to purchasing this unit, but with the BH return policy I felt the risk was minimal. I am extremely pleased with the overall performance of this unit. Pros: -Lots of presets with reasonable setting. You are up and running with the board very quickly. -Clean menus. -Excellent responsiveness from both the touch screen and the dial control. -Very little, if any, audible noise of the board. This is comparable to other high end digital boards. - Good number of output options. - Firmware upgrade was very easy. Possible Improvements: - Podium EQ preset is not terrific. Seems to be an error in setup. - Allow the touchscreen to tilt. - Provide a locking mechanism for the XLR connector. - Provide a locking mechanism for the power cord. - Offer a longer whip on the DC side of the power brick. - Offer a locking IEC power cord going into the power transformer. - Offer a way to play an audio file from the record/playback screen. - Increase the spacing between the USB ports. 5

[44.1 / 48 kHz] This is exactly what I was looking for, for years! We bought the QSC TouchMix-16 for our churches youth ensemble. We hooked up three mics. One for Cantor, one for flute, and one for the sax and horns. The cello and harp used their pickups. The keyboard mono output. So we had 7 inputs, which is why we bought the 20 input model. We are hoping more youth join the ensemble. We used it today for the first time. We are not experienced sound people. This unit worked like a breeze! The wifi worked perfectly and far from the mixer. We were able to adjust levels while sitting in the pews, even when the church was full. This month was the first month every instrument could be heard and we were able to blend them sweetly. I am so happy with our purchase and can't wait till next month so we can use it again. Thank you so very much QSC for making such a beautiful, portable, easy to use mixer! [20 x 16 x 5"] I bought a second TouchMix-16 so I would have one for performance and one for practice/backup. I have been very happy with the product. This one came with firmware version 1 which needed to be updated to avoid recording problems. It is not difficult to update the firmware. I would suggest using a solid state drive for recording if you are going to travel with it because it won't require special handling. 5

[44.1 / 48 kHz] I have just recived this two weeks ago. The QSC touchmix is simply splended and I love useing it with my Ipad. I do live bands and I also use it in my studio. It works with Pro Tools 11 with the newest update. 5

[-94 dB] This is simply the best combination of price, capability and small footprint at any price. To date, I have not used it with iPad remote, which is to say that everything I've done with it involved using the physical controls on the device. At roughly the size of a 17 notebook computer, the number of channels and Aux outputs is amazing. The degree of control--EQ, compression, etc., is spectacular. The biggest downside, as is the case with larger console mixers, too, is the fact that if you're using most of the channels, you will have to toggle screens. But in real life, I've been able to do this easily enough. Mute groups can be assigned to numerous dedicated physical button mute groups. Plugging in a high-speed hard drive or bus-powered USB 3 SSD allows separate recording of all channels for virtually unlimited remixing options after a gig or if someone wanted to use this for a studio session. I found this item nearly accidentally, since QSC is not known for mixers so much as PA speakers. This item is without any direct competitor, and the quality and functionality are spectacular. 5

[105 dB ] Recently purchased this mixer for our duo. Found it to be the best mixer we've used so far in the last 5 years. Perfect for our application. Easy to set up. In addition to the great product, QSC has the best support. A couple of minor questions and when I called the 800 number my questions were answered immediately. Still more to learn but after 2 weeks we love this mixer! 5
