The Concert 288 Dual-Channel Wireless Handheld Microphone System with Q6 Capsules (Band I) from Samson offers a high-performance UHF wireless solution where the freedom of mobility is required for two performers simultaneously. It’s suitable for pairs of singers, business professionals, educators, and others looking for clear sound and versatility without cables.

The frequency-agile Concert 288 allows for up to 20 systems (40 performers) to perform simultaneously across two frequency bands. It gives both performers a 300’ range of wireless operation between the transmitters and receiver, making the system suitable for large stages and crowd participation. To ensure interference-free performance, the Concert 288 features a true-diversity design. In case a dropout occurs, the receiver’s Tone Key and Auto Mute functions eliminate any background noise until the signal is restored.

Featuring a user-friendly front panel, the CR288 Wireless Receiver provides the system with fast and easy setup. The CR288 provides two Select buttons for auto syncing the receiver and transmitter channels via an infrared signal, allowing you to find your optimal channel. The panel also contains a dual seven-segment LED for the operating channels, two volume knobs, two tuned antennas as well as Ready and Peak indicators for optimal functionality and monitoring. The back of the receiver features two separate balanced XLR outputs for routing signals to two separate channels on a mixer as well as a 1/4” unbalanced mix output that condense both signals to a single channel for a direct connection into a PA speaker (not included).

The Concert 288 Handheld System features two CH288 handheld wireless transmitters with Q6 dynamic, supercardioid mic capsules. The transmitters, which can operate for up to eight hours on two AA batteries each, are engineered to provide the ultimate in sound reproduction.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this microphone system compatible wit the Panasonic HC-V180K camera?

A: Unfortunately the Samson Concert 88 is not compatible with your camera. Your camera has no external mic input.

Q: 2. What mixer/amplifer and what size outdoor speakers would be recommended to use with this system?

A: The Fender Passport EVENT would work very well with your VocoPro VHF-3005. See attachment.

Q: 3. Can this system connect with speakers wirelessly?

A: If you have a power speaker you can connect the receiver with the speaker using the XLR Output to XLR speaker Input. Yes, is possible.

Q: 4. Will the handheld mic accept a heil capsule or is it not replaceable ?

A: This is not replacable.

Q: 5. Does it have handling noise?

A: The Samson Concert 288 SWC288HQ6 Dual-Handheld 16-Channel True Diversity Wireless System has a low signal to noise ratio of 85 dB. With normal use, handling noise for the handheld transmitters should be minimal or not noticeable.

Q: 6. Can this system expand to 16 microphones?

A: Yes, however: The receiver on this system is a single channel receiver (just like one radio receiver, it will only be able to "tune" into one radio station). This system accommodes/includes 16 channels that are available, individually to a single transmitter, choosing one of the 16 channels available on the receiver.. If 16 microphones are needed (0r any number from 2 up to 16), an additional system (another microphone with another transmitter) may be used in the same area.

Q: 7. can I get a headset mic and a guitar system? with the 288

A: Unfortunately Samson does not offer a bundle that comes with the headset and guitar cable for it. The closest you can get to it would be to get a Samson Concert 288 that comes with two belt pack transmitters like B&H # SASWC288PRSI (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1121211-REG/samson_swc288pres_i_concert_288_presentation_dual_channel.html) with the Samson GC32 guitar cable to use with one of the belt packs. http://www.samsontech.com/samson/products/accessories/samson-parts-and-accessories/swagc32/

Q: 8. can yiou use the samson airline88 microphone with the samson 88x transmitter?

A: Yes

Q: 9. Under diversity it says "Antenna Diversity, True Diversity" but it has just two antennas. So it is just true diversity when one channel is in use?

A: True diversity, as described with the Samson Concert 288 Presentation Dual-Channel Wireless Microphone System with 2 Headset Mics & 2 Lav Mics, infers that a receiver has dual antennae as well as dual internal chips to assess and choose the stronger antenna reception of an incoming signal. A dual channel receiver with independent internal diversity chips can still be considered true diversity for this reason.

Q: 10. Can you use both at the same time?

A: No, only one transmitter from the Samson Concert 88 Camera Combo UHF Camera Wireless System can be used at a time since the receiver has one channel.

[IR] This was used with a Samson Expedition XP800 amp/mixer/speakers system for an all day event with about 100 people under a large tent. The system was easy to set up and connect with the XP800. The microphones worked very well. For the small microphone, you have the choice of clipping a lapel clip to it or a headset/boom. We used the lapel clip. Be sure to clip it near the center of the body for best pickup. Our first user clipped it a bit to the side, and every time he turned his head the other way, his voice trailed off. With it clipped to a shirt under the chin,, the pickup was remarkable and clear. The instructions state that the mics need AA alkaline batteries and they will last about 8 hours, and don't use rechargeable batteries. These mics were used a lot and did die after about 8 hours. Next time I would use Energizer Lithium batteries for a very long event.
A couple of times the microphone popped off of the lapel clip when the speaker had muted their mic and was working with their hands and not paying attention. It clips back on easily.

[Yes] This wireless system is an awesome one. There is no noise or interference with other wireless systems within its proximity. It is very suitable for small settings like small places of worship.

[ 28 dB] Once I figured out the colored rings around the top and bottom of the microphones it was very easy to set up. One mic comes pre set as mic A and one as mic B. I figured that, used the IR to set it and I was off and running. I can set this up with my Fender Passport Event or my smaller Anchor Audio AC 130+. This was $ less than the Shure microphone set up and I very happy that I purchased this over the Shure.

[24] This a great set of microphones from a well known company. Only decent set I could find that had a mix out so that I use single channel on my board. Amazing quality, no drop outs and plenty of channel options to choose from. Best both in price and quality.

[2] This Samson equipment is a very cost effective unit for Church audio systems. Easy to setup, instruct on usage and the performance of this unit is excellent for the money. Will purchase again for the next installation where a budgeted amount is of concern.

[Plastic] I bought this to replace an older system that often had interference.  I used this last week. It was great. The sound was crisp and clear.  No problem with outside interference.
