The Sirui PH-120 Quick Release Plate for Camerasfrom Sirui PH-120 Quick Release Plate for Camerasis an Arca-compatible plate designed for use with telephoto lenses with a support foot. It has a ridge at the rear of the plate that helps keep the lens from turning if only one mounting screw is used. Four anti-slide mats on the surface keep the lens in place while installing the plate. It uses a dual mounting screw design to properly secure your rig. On the bottom of the plate are two screws, one at each end, that prevent the plate from accidentally sliding off the head if the quick release clamp is loosened.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. which sirui plate/plates would work best for a Nikon D800 body and a Nikkor 70-200 2.8 lens?

A: The Sirui TY-LP75 Quick Release Plate will be a better fit for a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens and D800 body: http://bhpho.to/1AnCYT5

Q: 2. Will it be fully compatible with Sirui VA-5 Ultra-Compact Video Head?

A: Yes the PH-120 plate will fit the Sirui VA-5.

Q: 3. Does the brass pin push in for use with mirrorless camera?

A: The pin is meant for use with a camcorder, not any mirrorless or DSLR camera. It is spring loaded so it will not interfere when you mount the plate to a mirrorless or DSLR camera.

Q: 4. Is there another brand Arca-type plate compatible with Sirui C-10S Ball Head? The Sirui plate TY-C10 has no D-ring on the screw, and according to the specs is 30x39 mm.

A: The TY-C10 works fine on my Olmpus OMD cameras; the absense of a D-ring is no problem, all it takes is a quarter to tighten. It is my understanding that any arca-swiss plate should work with any arca-swiss plate, although some my work better than others. I have such a plate on one of my cameras and it works, although not as well as the TY-C10. Not so sure how the Sirui plate would work with larger cameras however.

Q: 5. What other brands of plates, if any, fit this head?

A: This is an Arca Swiss compatible plate and there are many company's that produce an Arca Plate. Just click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/2LT5UoP

Q: 6. Does this plate have a D ring to attach to the camera? Also, can a NIKON D7000, or D90 be attached safely to his unit? I would attach to a 18-105 lens, or 80-200, or 100 MM lens. You thoughts?

A: No D-ring. But it is a strong mount with stainless steel ( I believe ) bolt.

Q: 7. Is this plate compatible with Sirui T-005SK T-0S Series Travel Tripod with B-00 Ball Head? I lost mine and need a replacement. Thank you!

A: Yes, that is the correct replacement plate.

Q: 8. I bourght a Sirui head before. that head now is not good. The ball is too tight even I put some lube. Very tight to turn. Also, I found the hinges/switch has rubber grip that could slip the switch when the temperature is different. So, my question here is: (1) how smooth the ball is; (2) is the whole ball head made of metal material?

A: The ball sphere is smooth on this head and it is constructed of aluminum.

Q: 9. Will this go on the VA-5 panhead?

A: No it will not fit, the plate is too short and the one listed for the VA-5 is the best option. https://bhpho.to/2Zh6D5B

Q: 10. What quick release clamps are compatible with this plate? I have a K-10x ball head and would like to mount a quick release clamp on my video head, using the same quick release plate (the TY-50X). I've found a few options (Arca-Swiss Quick Release Clamp (60mm) and the Arca-Swiss Quickset FlipLock Round Quick Release Clamp ) but I'm not sure if they will fit.

A: all arca plates will work

[0.19 lb] It was not clear if this plate will fit my G20 ball head.
But it's a perfect match.
Great build and beautiful simple packaging.

[2.8 oz (80 g)] Needed for my RF 400mm. Holds it via both screws and does it well.
Though worth mentioning the larger screw is a reducer, so the 3/8 part does come off.

[2.8 oz (80 g)] I wanted a longer plate than the one that came with the VA-5 for my Kowa 883. This plate is perfect and allows more 'grab' and seating adjustment. Keep in mind that since the VA-5 is a slide-on top mount vs. a top-load, you have to remove one of the safety screws on the PH-120 so that you can slide it on. Not a big deal but just a heads up to buyers. Also, the 3/8 screw is not an actual 3/8 screw but has a sleeve that makes it 3/8. I noticed that only the screw that has the 3/8 sleeve can be removed. So since my Kowa 883 only has one mounting hole, I removed the 3/8 sleeve and popped-out that screw, then screwed on the 3/8 sleeve onto the other screw, removed the 1/4 sleeve from my Kowa and screwed the mount in. I know, I realized afterwards that I could've just left the 1/4 sleeve in my Kowa and screwed in the 1/4 screw from the PH-120. I'm an idiot! Anyways, the PH-120 works perfectly with my Kowa and VA-5. Highly recommended!

[0.19 lb] I have three Surui Q.R. plates so I can keep them on the optics that I use the most. They are well built and work as designed. I use a Canon 70d camera with a 100-400 lens for wildlife photos the most. I have TY-50X and they mount on a Surui G20-X ball head on a Surui N-2204x tripod.

[2.8 oz (80 g)] Plate has both dual screws and an anti-twist flange (a bit redundant). I wanted it for a Pentax 150-450 and it's just the right size.
