Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the QR plate an Arca Swiss type?

A: Yes.

Q: 2. One of the legs won't lock and keeps sliding down which makes the tripod useless. I've tried to tighten the screws but that doesn't help.I don't know if I have a receipt or warrantee. Suggestions?

A: Have you talked to the manufacture?

Q: 3. I really like the concept behind this tripod, It will fit in my bag and is a half pound lighter than the 2004. I have two questions 1) I assume I can replace the ballhead (I already have a good Markins one). It doesn't seem they sell them separtely (legs from head). 2) Do you think the setup can stably handle a 150-450mm lens (4.4lbs/2 kg) lens on a smallish SLR body?

A: Ye it can easily handle the setup

Q: 4. 5 ANSWERSI intend to use this with a Nikon D750 with battery pack and Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens. Will it support the weight of this setup?

A: The load capacity will be sufficient for your gear.

Q: 5. How will it hold a Canon 6D with a sigma 150-500 mm lens?

A: Can't speak to that specific model but the lbs rating lives up to whatever you can throw at it. This tripod has heavy duty construction amd is very stable. You'll be hard pressed to find a better value or a more compact tripod with this weight rating. I had to tighten down the leg supports after a couple uses with heavy gear but i haven't had slipage since. Again, you won't go wrong here.

Q: 6. I have a 3/8X16 female in camera will this tripod support it?

A: The TY-50E Quick Release Plate included with the E-20 Ball Head on the Sirui ET-2004 Aluminum Tripod uses the standard 1/4"-20 male tripod screw. If your camera has a 3/8"-16 female tripod socket, you would need a reducer bushing such as the Oben 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 Reducer Bushing, B&H # OB1039, or you can purchase an Arca-type quick release plate that includes a 3/8”-16 screw, such as the Acratech Arca-Type Universal Quick Release Plate (3/8"-16), B&H # ACQRPCT38, the Really Right Stuff B29 Multi-Use Fore-Aft Plate with 3/8"-16 Screw, B&H # REB29PLATE, or the Sirui TY-70A Quick Release Plate, B&H # SISUTY70A, for your usage needs.

Q: 7. I'm planning on using it with Gimbal head and D7200 with 150-600 mm Sigma Sport lens?

A: If your inquiry is may the Sirui ET-2004 Aluminum Tripod with E-20 Ball Head be used with a gimbal head and your Nikon D7200/Sigma 150-600mm lens combination, then the answer is yes. The combined weight of the Nikon D7200 DSLR camera and the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens for Nikon is 7.79 lbs (3.53 kg), and the Sirui ET-2004 Aluminum Tripod with E-20 Ball Head has a maximum load capacity of 26.5 lb (12 kg).

Q: 8. Does anyone know if the attachment plate has a D ring in addition the the hex key?

A: Yes the quick release plate has a "D" ring attached to the screw.

Q: 9. What does it weigh?

A: 2.58kg (5.69lb)= everything in he bag + bag itself1.99kg (4.39lb) = tripod + E-20 ball headMeasured on a baking scale.

Q: 10. Is this tripod capable of aiming the camera straight down?

A: Absolutely! Camera remains secure and steady. Great lightweight tripod for most assignments.

[Ball Head] On the advise of the B&H staff member working in the area I went with this tripod I would have gone with one of the big names otherwise. I was looking for a tripod I can travel with & general use as an amateur photographer. This tripod exceeds my expectations in every way

[Ball Head] Great, solid and light tripod for the price. I almost bought the Manfrotto befree at the store, but I realized that the Sirui has a better built quality, the weight and seize is almost similar. Really happy of my purchase.

[5" / 13 cm] Terrific choice! I've only use the tripod three times, but I love the portability and the light weight factor. It's a joy to bring along as it is easy to use and extremely light. You had so many wonderful tripods from which to choose so it was very difficult, but I'm very happy with my decision on this model.

[4] Excellent model. To me the best in class of the Sirui line putting it just above the other travel models in weight, but with the added benefit of sturdiness, without too much penalty. Love the flip leg locks, and that sold me, plus decent height, short shaft, adjustable leg angles etc. Only minor gripe, which is common with all the Sirui short shaft accessories, is that you lose the bag handle underneath when attached. However, for about 70grams penalty, I added a screw adaptor to the protruding thread, and attached a lightwieght carabena hook/latch. Problem solved. I reckon you could almost replace heavier models in the field, for long exposure, astro work, espcially if you attach a bag to the hook. Mine comes in at just over 1.6kg with the short shaft, Manfrotto head (320g) and custom bag hook on the short shaft thread. For only a few grams more you could leave the longer centre column attached, and have more height, but you'd lose the ability to go super flat, however, the long shaft would give adequate low angles for most shots. I just like a bit less weight, plus the ability to go lower, and I don't mind using my flip out screen on the LCD. It's high enough for me with the short shaft. Long shaft pretty much gives me eye height. Looks to me like it will stand up to fairly decent use.
