Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will a Manfrotto junior geared head fit on this tripod?

A: This tripod is one of the most versatile I have ever come across. I'm not personally familiar with the Manfrotto junior geared head, but assuming that the treads are either 1/4 or 3/8 this tripod will accommodate either one by flipping the collar just below where the ballhead attaches as you have both thread sizes available to use.

Q: 2. has anyone used this tripod w/ canon mark iii and telephoto lens and came across weight issues? thanks!

A: Yes with a Mark ii a 70-200 and a 400 with no problems whatsoever. It is a very sturdy tripod!

Q: 3. How does it behave in extreme cold Temperatures? (-40F and below) Does the ballhead know still work?

A: I've only used mine in Wisconsin during the winter. In January it gets into single digits and no problems so far. The last time it got to minus 40 here was in about 1994, and I was using film at that time and had no tripod.

Q: 4. Does the listed height (with center column retracted) include the ball head or is it to the to of the spot the ballhead mounts on?

A: Hi, that height includes the ball head height.

Q: 5. What is the tripod base mount dimension? 3/8" - 16 or 1/4" - 20?

A: The tripod base mount on the Sirui ET-2204 is 3/8-16".

Q: 6. Can the rubber feet be screwed right off the tripod? I need to attach custom feet for a special application.

A: Sorry havent tried it has spikes

Q: 7. Does the Sirui ET-2204 have the Spikes built into the feet? Does it come with a Center Hook?

A: As per Sirui, the ET-22-04 does have a hook on the bottom of the center column but it lacks a set of retractable spikes on the feet.

Q: 8. Do you think with a different ballhead (I use a Markins) that this tripod could safely handle a 600mm f5.6 lens (3.2 kg/ 6 lb) with a lightish dSLR body?

A: Yes, this is a very sturdy tripod.

Q: 9. What is the diameter when folded? I think I love this tripod but it needs to fit in a carry-on.

A: The Sirui ET-2204 Travel Carbon Fiber Tripod is about 4.75 inches in diameter and 17 inches long when folded.

Q: 10. I have a Fujifilm X-T3 I want to be able to snap in my camera on the ball head. Will this allow that to happen or does it have to screw in?

A: This is a quick release had but not a snap in, more or less a slide in plate, just as quick and easy.

[Carbon Fiber] Many hours spent looking for a great travel tripod. While the price is low, quality is very high. Final two in consideraction Gitzo and Sirui. Ball head on ET-2204 far superior. This little setup carries a Canon 5D Mark lll w/100-400, 1.4 extender on a Wimberly foot and is rock stable. Height will accommodate a shooter up to 6' tall, and fold into 18 to be stored in a very nice case. Gitzo may have the background, but thier technology has been copied very well.

[Yes] Pro photographer with 30 plus years. Mostly doing wildlife, travel and landscape now. First 30 were people. Anyhow, this ball head tripod is light, legs extend smoothly and fast, and it handles my Canon R5 with 100-500 and 1.4 TE and Sony A9II with 200-600 lens with no problem. If you have anything heavier and are extending it all the way out and doing long exposure you will probably need a beefier tripod head.

[Yes] I am using this tripod with a Canon 5D and a 150-600 mm lens. I have the Sigma lens which is heavier than the Canon lens, but this tripod has no difficulty with keeping everything steady for some great images. I bought the E-20 ball head which i like very much. Having a ball head is so much easier to use than a two dimensional design. I am not familiar with the E-10 ball head so can not make a comment on the cheaper head. The tripod not only can handle the weight of a large lens, but also is light in weight itself. I will use this tripod as my travel tripod and the low weight is a definite plus.

[Yes] Gorgeous and very sturdy tripod. But the weight in the specs is misleading. A tripod is a portable tool, and you have to carry it wherever you use it, so specs should be more precise on the weights. Love the flip-locks, but I have to return it because for my use it's a bit too heavy.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I've been looking for a good travel tripod for about 4 years and finally decided on the Sirui reviews and recommendations of a photo group I belong to. Just got it a week ago but am very impressed with the quality and stability.

[5.95 lb] This tripod is amazing! I didn't know a travel pod could be this sturdy and light. It came well packaged with very good directions, along with a mail-rebate worth 15%!
The E-20 Ball Head makes it easy to line up the target and holds the position you select, unlike some others I've used that seem to creep one way or another. It holds my Nikon D850 with my 150-600mm lens solidly with a twist of the wrist.

A great tripod!

[Spiked] So far it has been working fine as expected. Solidly built and easy to use. It's total weight is about 4 lbs with the ball head, definitely not 3 lbs as stated.

[5.95 lb] Very steady. Holds my D810 with vertical grip and Tamron 150-600 very well. It's very light and folds up small. Great travel pod.
