A: I am using this VariZoom adapter to go from a SONY CX-160 camcorder with an AV connector to my SONY LANC remote control model RM 870 tripod and it works works perfectly allowing smooth variable speed zoom control. It is far superior to the very touchy SONY RM-AV2 remote which was designed for the camera. I suggest you buy the VariZoom adapter cord from B&H. If it works, you're golden. If it doesn't work, return it immediately with an explanation. I have been buying from with B&H for over 20 years and never had a problem.
