The Warm Audio WA76 FET Compressorfrom Warm Audio WA76 FET Compressoris a modern reproduction of the 1176 revision D limiting amplifier. With its completely discrete signal path and use of the original Reichenbach Engineering's (now CineMag) transformer design, the unit remains as faithful as possible to the construction of the original classic.

The 1176 was a major breakthrough in limiter technology, being the first true peak limiter with an all transistor circuitry while offering superior performance and a signature sound. The ultra-fast attack time was and still is a sound coveted by many legendary artists and studio engineers. This reproduction includes the famous "all buttons in" setting.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this accept video output from a video camera (C200 specifically)?

A: The Comprehensive 4K HDMI Audio Extractor is designed to take a 4K signal from devices that can produce that signal, though it has not been tested with cameras. Technically, the Canon EOS C200 Cinema Camera (EF-Mount), B&H # CAC200EF, should be supported but has not been tested.

Q: 2. Can it be strapped to other audio bags? (not orca)

A: Yes, I use it with numerous petrol bags.

Q: 3. Do your inserter devices support ARC feature on HDMI OUT to play analog audio on BOSE Soundbar700?

A: After looking further, Unfortunately none of the HDMI Audio Inserters we have listed will support ARC.

Q: 4. Will a Sounddevices 688 with a SL6 fit?

A: No. You want to use something a little bit bigger like the Orca OR-332. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1607487-REG/orca_or_332_audio_bag_for_scorpio.html

Q: 5. would it fit a sound devices 788T with CL8 mixer, also would it fit a mixpre 10 II??

A: Yes, the Sachtler Eargonizer Audio Bag (Large) can accommodate the Sound Devices 788T Recorder and CL8 Mixer. As another option, you can use the ORCA OR-32 Audio Mixer Bag (B&H # OROR32).

Q: 6. Will the Tricaster TC1 automatically pickup the audio without routing through Dante?

A: The Vizrt TriCaster TC1 would require a Dante License in order to recognize Dante audio streams created by the Magewell Pro Convert Audio DX. The The Vizrt TriCaster TC1 would be able to natively receive an NDI audio stream created by the Magewell Pro Convert Audio DX.

Q: 7. Would this work with a Zoom H6? If not, what would you recommend to have a similar size set up with a Zoom H6 with Lavs and potential handheld shotgun mic attached?

A: Yes that should work with your H6 and lav's. As far as the shotgun goes that would depend on the length of the shotgun. Most of the H6 cases are small or hard cases.

Q: 8. How much does the bag weigh?

A: PortaBrace has not provided the weight of the PortaBrace Field Audio Bag for MixPre-6 Recorder, but the overall weight of the package is 0.875 lb.

Q: 9. Do I have embedded audio singal on the SDI-output of this converter?

A: This converter will de-embed audio from the SDI Input. The SDI Output will be the same as the SDI Input. No change to the signal. So if there is audio on the SDI input, there will be audio on the SDI output.

Q: 10. Will this fit an Zoom F8n?

A: The ORCA OR-34 Audio Mixer Bag will fit a Zoom F8n, but there will be extra space. The ORCA OR-270 would be recommended instead.

[Single] Killer quality and sound. It definitely widens the stereo field a bit. The transformer button wont be for everyone. I tried it on the 2 track and didnt like it, but gave it a go on the bass buss and yeah dude big time.

[9.1 lb] The WA76 is not supposed to sound exactly like the modern UA 1176LN as another review has highlighted. The WA76 is an exact replica of the Urei 1176 revision D that was produced in the early 1970s. The current UA 117LN is an amalgamation of revisions C, D, & E. These revisions have minor differences in circuitry dealing with low noise and distortion. The WA76 and UA 1176LN are essentially the same beast, but since they are produced with slightly different circuitry designs, one will hear very subtle sonic variations between the two. Which one you like more is a matter of preference.

[Single] If you're looking for a true professional 44BX sound, look no further! I was amazed at the sound and quality. Insides with the exception of transformer, look identical to the legendary 44BX. Why spend $3000 to $5000 for a similar looking replica when you can buy this for under $1000? I've already bought 2 and love them! I'm a professional broadcaster and voice-over announcer with 50+ years of broadcast experience.

[9.1 lb] This compressor punches way above its weight (considering the cost). Great unit for subtle, clean compression. I use mine to ‘glue together’ the final mix in Really Nice mode.

[9.1 lb] I've been lusting after a physical LA2A for years. I actually first used one in the early 1970's in a radio station, their original market. I've tried a number of plugins, some of which aren't bad. But the weird mixture of tubes, transformers and a light bulb (panel in this case) is just hard to beat. Like all great audio gear, you may cease to notice it when it's there, but you'll truly miss it when it's not there. I have a number of wildly dynamic singers in the studio, and this just works the magic to make their vocals sit in the mix. And it makes those same vocals bigger sounding at the same time. Is it the best LA2A clone out there? I don't know since I can't test it against all the rest. But it's darn good. BTW, let me put to rest any fears about build quality, etc. This is my second (and won't be my last) piece of Warm Audio kit. Absolutely no issues with the way these beasts arrive and work. Possibly, outside of acoustic treatment, the best investment I've ever made in my studio.

[9.1 lb] This little mic really shines in places that nothing else quite works. It captures transients like a small condenser, but without the extra crispiness the condenser brings. I've used it on guitars and ukuleles with a wonderful response. You can get up close without it getting boomy like most dynamics, and it doesn't capture the room noise like a condenser. Its size is also greatly appreciated... easy placement. I used it on some background vocals, too, with a nice airy/smooth result. It feels as though it's built like a tank, too. I've never used the original AKG version this was modeled after, but this new one will be cherished in my collection and used regularly!!

[10 lb (4.5 kg)] This is a fantastic small form factor side chain compressor which I use as an auto ducker for microphones over an audio source. And the price point makes it a worthwhile investment. My only wish is the input and output connectors were combo connectors for greater connectivity flexibility.
