The AMT S19i Electret-Condenser Microphone for Celloby AMT S19i Electret-Condenser Microphone for Cellois specifically designed for miking cellos, and is intended to clamp onto the instrument's tail piece, allowing for safe, quick and easy removal, for traveling or for microphone storage. The S19i is identical sonically to the S18C, but includes upgraded features, such as its clamp-to-tailpiece mounting, D.C.T. (a disconnecting cable), and the user's ability to choose from a number AMT's various mic preamps, if desired. The microphone is designed to use a very tight microphone polar pick-up pattern to give high rejection to extraneous surrounding noise, and at the same time, reproduce accurately the subtleties of the cello.

As placement is especially important with an instrument that has a fine finish and varying dimensions, this microphone's attachment mechanism is designed to secure the mic to the tailpiece of the cello, while allowing the gooseneck to be placed in different positions. The flex arm is easy to position and is engineered to retain its placement throughout active performances. The attachment mechanism is spring-loaded, and can be attached onto the tailpiece with one hand.

The AMT Inline Preamp is included, and phantom power is required. The output is terminated with a single male XLR type connector for balanced use, and the mic is connected to the pre-amp by a four pin locking connector. The S19i is manufactured with lightweight aluminum in order to keep the mass low.

The S19i comes complete with the Inline preamp, carry pouch, and AMT disconnecting cable technology to allow the microphone to be used wireless with the AMT Wi5IIC, Shure Line 6, or Sabine Wireless. Sennheiser cable sold separately. The microphone is manufactured by hand.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How long are the XLR cables?

A: The ECM-MS2 from Sony features a permanently attached 15 cable.

Q: 2. I purchased this mic a year ago and it has given me hollow mono sound. Am I doing something wrong?

A: The Samson C01UCW is a mono microphone. A hollow sound can be caused by several factors. Condenser mics are very sensitive, and will be affected by room reflections and reverbaration. If you are using the mic in a large room with reflective walls it may cause this type of sound. Many times just by relocation the mic or even turning it slightly may improve your sound. You can also look into purchasing a reflection filter which will effectively cut down on the amount of indirect signal to the mic. a href= http://bhpho.to/1x7rIsB target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1x7rIsB/a

Q: 3. What is the maximum distance the speaker can be from the mic?

A: For best results with the Pyle Pro PDMIKC5 and similar mics, it would be recommended to be positioned no more than a foot or so from the capsule of the mic.

Q: 4. I recently purchased the ECM MS2 mic and no where in the instructions or users manual does it tell you how to hook up phantom power. I have the NEX FS700 camera that this mic is for and both channels can be set to use phantom power, but that is if you are using two separate mics. How do I properly set up phantom power for this mic?

A: Phantom power will be On for both XLR inputs so just plug in the microphone in on the left channel of the camera. The microphone disables phantom power for the right capsule if it is not connected to the camera.

Q: 5. does it work with mac?

A: The Samson C01USB mic is plug and play with both Mac and Windows operating systems.

Q: 6. So I'm looking to start a pod cast with my friend and we would need two microphones, so I am wondering if this is a good mic too start with ?

A: Unfortunately you cannot as that has a USB connector on it. I would recommend this pod casting kit for 2. This mic has XLR connectors and a mixer. All of which you will need if you will need for 2 mic's. This is the B&H kit part number of the kit. B&H # AUAT2020K.

Q: 7. Is, or will this mic be available in black?

A: Hello, Thank you for contacting Samson Technologies. Currently, this microphone is only available in Silver. I have not heard of any other plans to release differing colors, but will express your interest to my team! If you have any other questions or inquiries, please let me know at any time. Best Regards, James (Product Specialist)

Q: 8. Will this mic fit the Sony FX3 mic holder?

A: Yes this mic will work with the Sony FX3

Q: 9. What transmitters and receivers can this plug into? Are there any adapters to turn it to XLR?

A: It will only work with Sony transmitters that have a compatible 4-Pin (SMC9-4P) Connector. You can use the Sony DC78 battery power supply to use it with XLR inputs.

Q: 10. latency?

A: When using headphones connected directly to the C)!U Pro you will receive a mix of the direct signal that the microphone is picking up with zero latency and the return audio from your software. When direct monitoring is disabled you are hearing return of all signal from your software and latency will depend on the computer specs and settings. With the speed and efficiency of currently available processors, latency is rarely an issue.

[Phantom Power] Purchased this as a drop in stereo upgrade to my Sony XLR-K1M monauralmicrophone. Works great, excellent separation. This microphone should have been the obe included in the K1M kit in the first place, considering the high price of the K1M kit.

[Solid-State] Hooked this up on an NX100. Great sound and much better than the built in mic. It’s small and light. Works perfect for my on camera audio needs.

[Cardioid] Really good sound, these mics do have a weak point, the cable will break inside the housing if you don't use the tie they supply. The wind-dead cat is small and is not waterproof. Otherwise is a super good mic.

[11 to 52 V] I have used this microphone as my go to piano mic for years. I bought this one as a spare. Less expensive than most of the competition and sounds just as good or better.

[11 to 52 V] Impressive little mic this. Does a great job for run and gun filming when you need to capture decent audio without a dedicated off-cam solution.
