A: How many feet of cable this reel is able to handle will be determined by the Outer Diameter of the cable used. For a cable that is .41 OD you'd get 750 feet, while a .67 OD cable will give you 250'. A: Unfortunately, that does not seem to be typical with the Paterson reels and could be due to a faulty product or user error. I'd recommend practicing with a previously developed or unimportantly roll of 35mm with the lights on just to see if you can get it to work. Q: 4. Is it necessary to fill up the whole tank with chemicals even if you're developing only 1 or 2 rolls ? I understand that empty reels should still be stacked up to prevent the loaded reel to move too much but still need to be sure if the less than full tank affects developing in a bad way ?

A: No it's not, below the tank you can find the specific volume for each number or reels either 120 or 35mm, just make sure as you said the empty reels are stacked above to prevent it does not get chemicals.

Q: 5. So the reel says 290 ml? Can someone break down how much developer to water I use?

A: This tank holds 20 US OZ. Look at your developer dilution. I use Sprint chemistry. For 2 rolls of 35 mm it is 4:16 and the same for one roll of 120 fiilm. The ratio is 4 oz of developer to 16oz if water.Hope this is helpful,Karey

A: This tank can only hold one reel. To use two reels, you need the Paterson Universal Tank with Two Reels (Super System 4), B&H # PAUT2R

A: You will need 3 reels.

Q: 8. how long does it take to fill up the entire tank with chemistry? i believe 5rolls of 135 would require 1500ml of it. do you need to compensate for time to avoid over develop negatives in the bottom?

A: It's only a matter of 10-15 seconds. I compensate about 5 seconds and have never had issues! I've never directly measured how much chemistry, but use a 2L kit and life is easy. I would guess its more around 1600ml!!
