Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I know it says that this (Paterson 35mm) tank will take a single 35mm but will it also take a single 120?

A: No.If you want to develop for 120 film, check the Paterson Universal Tank with Two Reels (Super System 4) On that one you can adjust the reel height to accomodate the 120 film.

Q: 2. Does the item contain center column, funnel and agitator?

A: Yes. It contains all of these. It just doesn't include the spools.

Q: 3. Can I use this tank to process 8x10" color prints using RA-4 chemicals?

A: Unfortunately no but you can use this Jobo instead: https://bhpho.to/3d6s1p9

Q: 4. how long does it take to fill up the entire tank with chemistry? i believe 5rolls of 135 would require 1500ml of it. do you need to compensate for time to avoid over develop negatives in the bottom?

A: It's only a matter of 10-15 seconds. I compensate about 5 seconds and have never had issues! I've never directly measured how much chemistry, but use a 2L kit and life is easy. I would guess its more around 1600ml!!

Q: 5. How long is the snake?

A: No cable is provided with this item; it is just the reel. The reel's capacity is dependent on the outer diameter of the cable you use. Cable Capacity:0.41 OD: 750' (228.6 m)0.45 OD: 600' (182.9 m)0.49 OD: 500' (152.4 m)0.58 OD: 350' (106.7 m)0.67 OD: 250' (76.2 m)

Q: 6. Will it accept the Nikkor/Honeywell stainless steel film reels ?

A: No, stainless steel developing reels are not compatible with this tank.

Q: 7. Does this include a funnel and agitation tube?

A: It comes with a Paterson 35mm Tank with Reel (Super System 4) and a 35mm plastic reel. A funnel and agitation tube are not included.

Q: 8. I'm guessing the answer is Yes, but can I develop 1x135 AND 1x120 in ths Multi-Reel 3 tank? But not 2x135 and 1x120.

A: That is correct. Either a single 35mm and a single 120 at the same time OR two 35mm OR two 120. A tip if using one 35mm and one 120 is to take half of another reel and put that in the top of the tank to make sure the two teels with the film are pushed below the developer level. Sometimes in certain instances if you leave that gap the reels will float to the top after agitation and they may rise above the level of the developer leaving part of the film in the top reel to be undeveloped. Putting one side of another reel on the top prevents that from happening.

Q: 9. How many ounces does this hold with 2 reels?

A: The tank holds 33.8oz (1L) with room or a bit more. 35mm x2: 20oz120 x2: 35oz

Q: 10. Will the catlabs 8x10 reel work in this tank?

A: No, the CatLABS CL81: an 8X10 Sheet Film Processing Reel is made specific for the Jobo MultiTank 5. Not the Paterson Super System 4 Multi-Reel 8 Developing Tank. This is the link to the Jobo 2550 Multi Tank 5 (640mL), https://bhpho.to/3plCZu0 .

[9 µm] SO glad I bought this little reel. I use it to store my audio cables that have a strong bias, and don't seem to want to be wrapped in the usual over-under method, so the reel is the perfect solution, making setup and tear down easy and quick. It also has a larger core radius, so the cables aren't stressed (critical angle or something like that). It has a brake, which I don't use, so I simply removed it. It is plastic - so it's quite light and easy to carry. It seems to be strong enough to last many years. The only downside to this reel is that because it is so very light, it tends to follow me as I pull the cables off, but putting a heavy mic stand on the leg easily fixes that. Honestly, this little baby is great - especially considering that I was originally looking to buy one of the metal reels - but those things cost about ten times the price! This reel isn't made to be stackable, but that is absolutely fine with me. (Man, rereading my review here makes it look like I work for the company, but I assure you that is not the case!) Anyway - really glad I bought this baby! Cheers!

[9 µm] I had to drill large holes in the very center of the plate to allow for easy in/out of the short end of the cable. After that these reels worked great. Totally worth the price and the headache relief of under/over cable wrapping until your arms fall off.

I started with 1 and bought 5 more recently.

[Single Mode] I wrapped a 250ft Outdoor POE CAT6 Network Cable on this reel and it really works well. Not the most durable reel I have ever used but for a network cable it's just what I needed.

[LC] I have a reel with just one channel on it, but found out it's cheaper to buy this cable and just remove the bracket from the LC side. Comes right out without cutting anything.

[LC] Cable worked as expected. We use it for our field camera on football game days. We can move all over the field without a signal drop.
