Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens mount and work on a N1 V1 mirrorless camera and also on a D600 full-frame?

A: It won't work on the V1. It will work on the D600.

Q: 2. Has anyone tried this with video ? You could get a real "retro" effect, especially in B&W.

A: Yes, this lens gives a nice retro look in video.

Q: 3. Will this work with older Nikon film SLRs? For example, something with an F-mount like a Nikon FG?

A: Yes with any Nikon F mount camera

Q: 4. Can this be used on a t6?

A: The lens can be used with any Canon SLR

Q: 5. So, what exactly does this lens do?

A: This lens gives a sort of toy camera look to it. The images are soft in some areas and the color and light look uneven to give it an old instamatic film camera look.

Q: 6. Will this work with the D200? Thank you

A: Yes it will. This lens is for the Nikon F mount and couples appropriately. A caveat however: you will need to program your D200 to work with a non CPU lens in order to get appropriate auto exposure functions - though manual exposure works just fine (camera may say /0 if not programmed, by the way). Furthermore, I *believe* this is designed for an FX size sensor so you will need to consider the 1.5x crop multiplying factor (i.e. 90mm equivalent) in your shooting/setup.

Q: 7. Will this take screw-on filters? Or are the only filters available are the ones that go with the optional filter holder?

A: The Holga Lens for Nikon DSLR cameras will only accept filters with the Holga Lens/Filter Holder attached: http://bhpho.to/1gEhcqH

Q: 8. Is this lens plastic or glass?

A: The manufacturer does not list the material of the Holga Lens for Nikon DSLR Camera, though it's likely made of plastic.

Q: 9. can this be used with a Canon SX 60 HS?

A: It will not work with this model because the sX 60 HS does not allow interchangeable lenses.

Q: 10. What is the purpose of this lens? I am new to all the gadgetry.

A: This Holga lens for Nikon will create a look that is reminiscent of the classic Holga medium format cameras. http://www.flickr.com/groups/86881528@N00/Instead of film, you will be shooting directly to your Nikon digital sensor. This allows faster editing and sharing of your images.

[Plastic] Been a Lee filter fanatic for 20 yrs. Purchase the NiSi V6 system when on holiday sale under $100. Can honestly say it's quite simple to set up, adapter is solid with a locking mechanism thats brilliant my Lee filters fit so all good there. Took several pics to familiarize with the set up and it does the job well

[Plastic] Scooped up some vintage glass filters and they are a teeny bit big but the filter holder really does work regardless of size. Makes experimenting more fun because I don't need to stress if the filter will fit.

[Plastic] Nice filter kit! It's great with the extra step rings for a variety of lenses. As another review mentioned the lock screw could cause some problems. You can remove the screw completely to avoid complications. Definitely needed to practice setting up this filter before going into the field.

[2x ] I've had the urge to switch from screw-in filters to this for a long time, so stepping up when this went on sale was a no-brainer. This kit is easy to use and I look forward to adding to my filter collection.

[3 x 2.5 x 2"] I've had the V2 for some time and really like it. Wanted to upgrade for something that could handle a circular polarizer along with other filters and the V6 did not disappoint. I really like the fact that you can rotate the polarizer without needing to remove the other filters.

[2x ] This is my first attempt at a square filter setup. The V6 holder is very easy to install and has various step down rings for adjusting to different thread sizes. The included enhanced circular polarizer is ok and kind of limited on the polarizing effect. Definitely adds some weight to the setup but it's worth it.

[2x ] I've become a fan of NiSi filters and the NiSi filter system. These are great filters and very reasonably priced. I use the ND filters for taking pictures of waterfalls and am starting to experiment with the graduated filters for sunsets. I bought the system through another outlet, before BH started stocking them. The system is great with one caveat -- it's easy to lose the the polarizing filter -- hence the need to purchase a replacement :)

I tend to leave the polarizing filter on my camera most of the time, attaching the rest of the system as needed. Unfortunately, the polarizing filter has a tendency to come off while walking about. This happened the first time I used the filter. Luckily a passing stranger noticed and let me know what happened. I managed to be careful for quite a while, but eventually lost the filter (luckily this happened just after I finished shooting for the week).

[3 x 2.5 x 2"] I use only Nisi filters and two years ago went from the v5 to the v7 setup. My only complaint is with the v7 make sure that the polarizer is turned so it doesn’t wiggle out. When screwing the filter assembly on and off it the polarizer is not tight it can pop out. I have chipped two of these that way now. They still work as it’s a small chip but causes flare if light hits just right.

If you go with the V7 buy the plastic lens cover that clicks on over the polarizer. It works great and I leave it on all the time now when not in use. Pretty much always attached to my 14-35 lens unless need for another.
