Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I was going to purchase this camera to use for night time high school football. I have heard all the negatives about focusing system. Do any of you shoot sports and what are your results like ?

A: The focusing system is poor and the burst rate is slow. I might try a 7D Mk II for sports.

Q: 2. Is the 6d weather sealed as rugged as the 5d mark2? To help prevent drop damage?

A: It's a rugged camera body and is well sealed, especially if you use L lenses. I've never dropped mine yet so I can't answer that. I have friends with 5D's and it seems to be of similar construction. I like mine.

Q: 3. what is final price here after rebate?

A: Unfortunately this kit/bundle has been sold out, and we are not going to be offering it any longer. We are sorry about that.

Q: 4. Can I bring this bag with me on a plane as carry-on?

A: One common dimension requirement of carry-on baggage for airlines is the linear dimension of the bag. That is the total of all three measurements, height x width x depth equal to no more than 45"/ 1143 mm. The total of this bag is 39" so you should be fine. However, as always, check with your airline first.

Q: 5. I have a Sigma DG 120-400 1:4.5-5.6 APO HSM will this work with the 6D?

A: Per B&H spec It should work for Canon 6D full-frame sensor.

Q: 6. I recently bought a Canon 6D camera. I have an old Sigma 50-500 mm zoom lens that I bought for a Canon Rebel FILM camera back in 2000. The lens is not with me right now, but I will have access to it in a couple of months. Will I be able to use the Sigma 50-500 zoom lens for the film camera with the new Canon 6D body? I also have a 1.4X and a 2X converter with the lens. Will these also work with the 6D body?

A: Any lens you had used on a Rebel 35mm film SLR would be compatible with your 6D as well, yes. They have the same compatibility. You could use the teleconverters with the camera as well.

Q: 7. can i use my t3i lenses on this camera?

A: Depends on your lenses. EF lenses can be used on all cameras. EFS lenses can only be used on the crop sensor cameras.

Q: 8. Can an external video recorder be used to capture higher quality video? If so at what quality does the camera send video through the mini hdmi output? Uncompressed?

A: The 6D doesn't have clean HDMI output for optimal use with external recorders.

Q: 9. I recently purchased the EF 85 mm lens to use on my rebel. I am thinking about ordering the D6. Will this lens work on the D6 if I purchase it?

A: If The Canon 6D is compatible with all EF lenses.

Q: 10. I am a wedding and event photographer. Over the past 4 years I have been shooting with Canon 5D and 5D mark ii. I am looking to buy a new body and wonder how the 6D compares. I have looked at the 5D mark iii but the price is so high. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

A: In regards to overall image quality, the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera and the Canon EOS 6D DSLR camera have very closely comparable image quality, with the Canon 6D having the slightest advantage in regards to dynamic range and low-light performance. Of the two, the Canon EOS 5D Mark III would still be considered the more professional of the two cameras, having slightly higher resolution, would be faster in regards to both shutter lag and continuous frames per second (6 fps vs 4.5 fps), would have many more focus points, both standard and cross-type for focusing in low-lighting or in difficult focusing situations (5DMk3 has 61 focus points, 41 of which are cross type; 6D has 11 focus points, one of which is cross-type), and would have dual memory slots for holding more images at once without having to switch cards during shooting. However, speaking specifically regarding image quality and not performance, both are similar, and as stated, the 6D squeaks out slightly more dynamic range and better image quality in low-lighting situations. Both have slightly better quality and are faster compared to the Canon EOS 5D Mark II DSLR camera. All three use the same battery, while they all use different battery grips, and the 6D does not have a PC sync terminal or use the 3-pin remote terminal as used on the Canon 5D-series cameras, so you would have to adjust your accessories or shooting style accordingly. However, all three cameras could work interchangeably for wedding and/or event photography.

[Canon EOS 6D] I utilize this soft case for my Canon C-300 with the Zacuto shoulder rig. This case allows camera rig instant access and there is still room for a few lenses..

[Canon EOS 6D] Keep your Movi rig built & secure while driving. This case isn't built to ship or check in on airline, only used once Movi is set up.

[Black] I purchased this for my C300 Mk III. Considering it has the same exact body design as the C500 Mk II, it works great! I can put my fully kitted out rig inside with no problems. I have not tried with the C300 extension kit w/ v lock battery. It looks like there would be enough room.

This thing is rugged, it has lots of pockets for accessories (cables, batteries, monitors, tools, etc). You could get an extra lense in there if you want.

Its seems very well padded. Im confident my gear will stay protected while in this bag.

My only complaint is that I waited roughly 6 weeks for this bag to ship due to a back order issue. Once it was in stock, I had the bag in my possession within 2 days. Not gonna knock off stars for that, but it was frustrating.

I love that I can pull out my kitted camera and its good to go whenever I need it. When the top handle and monitor is on the camera, it becomes quite tall, but I can fit it in the bag with no problems. Would purchase again.

[4.15 lb] I've been looking for a case like this for a while. I have a Sony F5 with an Angenieux 25-250, MB, FF on other accessories. This bag is big enough where I can configure the camera in advance and safely transport it locally. That way, on location I can pull it out and start shooting with out too much fussing. There is plenty of extra room for camera mounted mics, monitors, cables and other goodies so the kit is self contained. But be aware, this is a big bag. You are not going to throw this over your shoulder heading out the door. Thank goodness it has wheels.

[Canon EOS 6D] I purchased this case as my 'main' gear case for my panasonic GH4 and all it's accessories. I absolutely LOVE this case! It's super durable, has SOOO many pockets for storing gear, cables, lenses etc, and is so rugged and tough I bring it everywhere. It's big enough to fit all my lenses (4) and my Ikan Cinefly Rig (broken down of course) with room to spare. I've maxed it out and with it bogged down the weight isn't TOO bad, but I will say, I do wish they made the gripping handles a littttttle bit more tough, as I feel like with it maxed out weigh wise, the handles are gonna start dethreading and possibly tear off over time. Other than that, this case is literally perfect. I can tell this will serve me well for years to come. 5/5 - 10/10 - I will now ONLY buy PortaBrace gear and bags from now on....
