Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will Vixen Optics Porta II Tall+ Alt-Azimuth Mount work with this scope?

A: Yes it is compatible.

Q: 2. Will this work on an Meade ETX 70 focuser?

A: It will not.

Q: 3. Will this work w/ a D750?

A: Yes. It will work for any F Mount. Works with my D600.

Q: 4. Will fit Meade lx70 mount?

A: This will not this is dedicated to AP, GP2, and GPD2 Mounts.

Q: 5. HiIn what country was this scope made?

A: This item is manufactured in China

Q: 6. Can this be used to adapt my old T-mount lenses for my Pentaxes to the Sony E-mount? Obviously with no autofocus or other communication.

A: Yes, this Celestron T-Ring for Sony E-Mount Cameras can work for your application.

Q: 7. Is this the adapter to mount Nikon DSLR D7000 to Celestron TrailSeeker 100 22-67x100 Spotting Scope?

A: The Celestron T-Mount SLR Camera Adapter for Nikon F-Mount needs to be connected to an actual T mount, such as https://bhpho.to/2UfejnB , the normal T-mount diameter is 1.25 of an inch, and will fit the Celestron Spotting Scope eyepiece tube instead of an "eyepiece". After connecting the Celestron adapter to a T-moun, then one would connect the Nikon D7000 to the newly assembled T-mount on the F mount adapter side. It is important to keep in mind if you replace the eyepiece with a camera the magnification of the eyepiece will be reduced to 1X. Many people today prefer to shoot a photo through the eyepeice to retain the magnification.

Q: 8. it is unclear to me how this adapter attaches to the telescope eyepiece. Do I need anything in addition to this item?

A: The Celestron T-Ring for Nikon F-Mount Cameras changes the camera lens mount to a T-mount. This would then need an adapter on the Telescope side to change the telescope to a T-mount as well. Basically this adapter is half the picture, one needs an adapter on the telescope side as well, as most are not native T-mount.

Q: 9. Will this work with the Sky Watcher Esprit 150 EDE?

A: The Celestron T-ring is 42mm. You need a 48mm T-ring for that telescope, and probably some spacers to get the back focus right.

Q: 10. Can I use a 2" dielectric star diagonal mirror with the Vixen SD 81S or Vixen SD 103S? Thanks

A: The Vixen Optics SD103S 103mm f/8 ED APO Refractor Telescope (OTA Only) BH #VISD103S • MFR #ES26147 was only designed foe 1.25"

[1 lb] Wow. Where else could I find a 100mm eyepiece?
Nice.

[1 lb] Couple this adapter with the Vixen 2” flip-mirror for an ideal combo. Allows easy stable switching between eyepiece sizes and easy framing for your image.

[6 x 6 x 6"] Flip mirror works well but to save time don't forget to purchase 2female to 2 Inner Diameter Barrel Rear (I got Tele Vue Schmidt-Cassegrain Adapter - Long for my Celestron Next Star 8 SCT). My set up: SCTelescope - Tele Vue Schmidt-Cassegrain Adapter-Long - Vixen Flip Mirror - T-Mount for Canon EF-M(screw in directly without rear tube)- Canon M. As usual B&H service is great.

[6 x 6 x 6"] This is a great little unit up until I started using this flip mirror I was having a hard time taking photos with my universal set up this eliminates all of the vibrations in the telescope and allows me to really zoom into my target while the telescope slews .. great product....phil

[1 lb] This is exactly what I needed--a simple, effective, and portable star tracker at a decent price. Yes, it fits in the bag nicely. The device is very well built.

No messing with WiFi connections in the dark and cold as my other tracker requires.

There are some trade-offs in terms of carrying capacity and longer exposures are difficult.

It is the right balance of attributes for me. Money well spent.

[1 lb] With this star tracker I was able to shoot the January 20, 2019 lunar eclipse using a Sony RX10 IV at base ISO with a longer exposure.

[6 x 6 x 6"] It is easy to use and no puzzle. As the added camera & lens provides additional weight to the mount, some care and attention is needed. If the screws are not firmly tight, the camera can move when the mounting shaft cools. . . all are common sense details.

[1 lb] It is working perfectly. No accurate polar alignment is required. Rough polar alignment through the peep hole is fine for focal length from 14mm - 105mm with 30” to 120” exposure. I feel it can push to 105mm and 180” exposure with no problem. 200mm focal length with 120” exposure is acceptable, no obvious star trailing is seen. But considering this is done with NO polar scope, I think it’s fantastic.

It is so small that it fits into my camera bag easily. Use only 2 AA batteries. Look and feel good.

Expensive but well worth it.

[6 x 6 x 6"] As the others said, don't forget to buy the TeleVue 2 to SCT adapter to go with this, unscrew the back tube and use the T-mount adapter direct. You might also want (as I bought) some parfocal rings for the eyepieces (not available at B&H but maybe they will add them) My setup is complete, this easily flips between perfectly focused eyepiece and perfectly focused SLR. Can't wait to drive out to the star park!
