The Hoodman HRT5 Hood for 5" Red Touchscreen Monitorprovides glare protection when shooting outdoors and it is designed to fit available 5" RED Touch monitors. The hood is lightweight at only 2.7 oz, and folds down flat when not in use. Constructed of rigid plastic inserts covered in rugged nylon for durability, and the inserts help the hood to keep its shape. It securely attaches to the monitor with elastic bands, so there is no adhesive needed, and it can be easily removed. The outer 1/3rd of the bottom panel of the hood is made of elastic, which allows the hood to stretch so you can use the monitor's touch panel without removing the hood.

A: Get the Hoodman HD350 Video Hi-Def 16 x 9 LCD Camcorder Hood B&H # HOHD350. It has the 16x9 aspect ratio that fits the LCD screen of the AJ-PX270. The other has a 4x3 ratio that will not work well.

Q: 2. Will this work on the Blackmagic Ursa Mini fold out LCD?

A: This product is designed specifically for RED Touchscreen Monitors. However the Ursa Mini does have a 5 screen as well, so this may fit on it as well.

A: Can't say for sure. Works great on the RED touchscreen because it's only 3/4 of in inch thick. I tried using it on Marshall field monitor that was 1.25 inch thick and the elastic didn't stretch far enough.So you're good if you Velcro it on, otherwise it may not work with the attached straps.-bk

A: I've been using this hood on my Sony FS100U video screen for almost a year now, and I'm very happy with it. I film a lot of weddings, including outdoor ceremonies, and this screen hood does an excellent job of keeping the glare out of my screen. So, I think the FS100U shares a similar screen size to several other Sony professional video cameras, such as the PXW series -maybe. I suggest getting a ruler to measure the dimensions of your cameras' video screen and compare it to the specs for the Hoodman H-400 LCD hood. The good news is these LCD hoods tend to come in a variety of different sizes and the velcro straps make it easy to adjust its' fit around the screen. Let me know if this helps. Thanks. -David

Q: 9. I have a panasonic ag ac130 and need to be able to see the edges of the screen, will the 400 work? I have the 350 and it covers the edge of the lcd

A: The AC130 has a 3.45 /8.76cm screen. The Hoodman HD350 is for screens that are 3.5 /8.89cm. so normally we would say it should work. However, since it is not working for you then since the H-400 is meant for 3.5 to 4.0 / 8.9 to 10.2cm screens, it has a better chance of being acceptable for your purpose.

Q: 10. Will this fit the SmallHD Ultra 5?

A: Because the SmallHD ULTRA 5 Bright Touchscreen Monitor is 5.9" wide and the Hoodman HRT5 Hood for 5" Red Touchscreen Monitor is only 5"wide, it can in theory fit the SmallHD ULTRA 5 Bright Touchscreen Monitor but in an undesired way.

[0.15 lb] I never review things on here but was so happy with this monitor i figured i should.. I bought this monitor to run on camera but also have the option to put the antennas on and use as a director monitor for focus pull or client review... It does just that. Terdek goes on and off.. Multiple power options included...Not to mention its bright enough to use in the sun without a shade and the resolution is amazing. 5

[0.15 lb] I was able to get my hands on the first batch of these monitors and it did not disappoint. It's built like a tank, bright enough for broad daylight work and makes modifications on the fly smooth sailing. High price tag but you get what you pay for. 5

[0.15 lb] Great monitor out of the box. the right-angle camera control cable for the ARRI Alexa Mini LF is kinda impossible to fit with the RAB. I wish it was angled the other way. 5

[0.15 lb] Ive been waiting for someone other than RED to have a monitor with camera menu and control features. Well this year that happened. The announcement earlier this year for the Cine 7 with ARRI and soon to be RED and Sony camera control was enticing. I recently bought and have since used it with my Scarlet W for about a month now. Its not cable free like the RED display with pogo connection but it is less expensive as well. The monitor does get a bit hot when you have the brightness cranked up as expected. There are no fans so its going to do that. Without fans though, you don't have to worry about another thing making noise on set. The SmallHD built in software with the page system and tools is really nice as well. The RED control menu and interface is superb in my opinion. Very happy with this monitor so far. 5

[0.15 lb] Love the HRT5. Only option in my opinion for the Red Touch Screens. The elastic straps always hold it there when I want it and it's quick to pull off when the sun is going down and everybody is scrambling. It's also easy to loose... which is why I had to buy this one. But my AC found it later on and now I have two of these awesome hoodmans! 5

[0.15 lb] I bought this for my RED V-Raptor. Why didn't I just get the RED monitor? They are basically the same price! Let me explain... The RED monitor is fantastic. One cable, attaches directly to the camera, user buttons, well built, and only slightly more expensive. BUT... I can only use the RED monitor version of the Cine 7 on a RED camera. And if you think I am going to spend 3K on a monitor that I can only use on one camera, you have another thing coming. With this monitor, yes, I need two cables instead of one. That is where the shortcomings stop. The Cine 7: 1. Can use on any camera. Any camera! 2. Still have complete camera control. 3. 500 more nits of brightness. Yes, 500! And it does make a difference. 4. A little bit cheaper. 5. Want Arri camera control? Yep, for $500 you have Arri camera control too. 6. With the RED monitor on an Arri camera you would have a paperweight. You get a better monitor that you can use on any camera. I attach the monitor directly to the RED top handle using the SmallRig Swivel and Tilt Monitor Mount with ARRI-Style Accessory Mount. Perfect. 5

[0.15 lb] This monitor is awesome. Love the intuitive touchscreen functions, love the camera control add-ons, love how it looks. It does scare me how hot it gets though. Could definitely fry an egg on this thing. I hope the heat doesn't affect longevity. 5
