Designed for commercial and industrial use, the JBL CSMA 180 Mixer Amplifier Commercial Seriesfrom JBL CSMA 180 Mixer Amplifier Commercial Seriesis a mixer/amplifier with four mixer-channel inputs and one output channel. It's capable of reaching 80W of peak power with 10W per channel. The unit's front panel sports volume controls for each channel, as well as a master volume adjustment knob, bass and treble controls, and a power switch. The volume controls are illuminated so they can be seen and operated in darkened environments.
The amplifier, capable of driving both eight and four Ohm loads, can be used with 70V and 100V distributed audio systems without the need for a separate transformer. On its back panel you'll find the mic/line inputs, unbalanced RCA inputs, speaker connections, Hi-Z and phantom power switches, and more. The unit is also equipped with a RJ45 connector for use with JBL CSR-V in-wall volume controls (available separately).
This Commercial Series mixer/amplifier boasts such features as voice activating ducking (useful for paging over background music), priority muting for channel one's input, and a sleep mode which automatically powers down the unit when no audible signal has been received for longer than 30 minutes. Also, with an auxiliary output, you may connect to an additional amplifier, though the master volume and tone controls will have no bearing on the resulting signal.

Four inputs into one output channel with 80W of power.
- Independent Bass and Treble controls for each output channel.
- Input level and output volume controls.
The Hi-Z switch will switch in the built-in output transformer allowing the unit to drive 70V or 100V speaker systems directly when connected to the appropriate output terminals.
Phantom power (27 V) can be applied to all mic inputs by turning on the phantom power switch.
Voice activated ducking is available on input channel one. The audio input level required to activate ducking is set using the trim pot on the rear panel. Adjusting in the counter-clockwise direction will reduce that level, while the full clockwise setting will disable the VOX function.
Input Channel one may be used as a priority channel, muting all other channels when pins four and five are shorted using a switch closure. If the amplifier has entered sleep mode due to inactivity, invoking priority will also bring the unit out of sleep and ready for transmitting an announcement.
Remote volume control can be implemented using a CSR-V controller connected via an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 connector on the back panel.
This unit is designed to go into sleep mode after approximately 30 minutes operating with no signal at any of the inputs. Return of signal (-40 dBu or 7.75mVRMS) to any input will wake the unit. Also, a switch closure across the priority input pins will return the unit to normal operating mode.
An auxiliary output that you may connect to additional amplifiers is available. The audio signal is the mix of the input channels. Note that the master volume control and tone controls will have no effect on the aux output signal.
- Crown's DriveCore technology
- HARMAN's GreenEdge environmental standards
- Suitable for commercial and industrial use
- Ideal for commercial and industrial
- Euro-block type mic/line input connectors and output connectors
- Configurable output routing
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. What are the features of the remote control? There is no info given regarding the usage or the need for the remote control. Is it for the the one/off, dimming, temp control, etc, if the light? Does it do anything to control start/stop of recording, etc?
A: The remote control for the Dracast LED180 Mobile Broadcast Kit controls dimming and color temperature only
Q: 2. Can this amp be used to power MCM 55-10345 tweeter array? These are not powered and can't be heard, or would some other small amp work? Any suggestions. Thanks, EYD.
A: Yes it can.
Q: 3. Would the back knob prevent flipping the camera lcd screen such as the camera Fuji XT2 ? How many millimeters of clearance are there ? Would it fit the Hasselblad 500cm ?
A: The back knob will not be an issue with either camera because the quick release plate raises the camera bottom so it is higher than the knob. The clearance is likely 5-10mm.
Q: 4. does this camera have WiFi?
A: I'm sorry, no, the Elph 180 does not have wifi.
Q: 5. I've read the 140 is too short for the Nikon 14-24. Is this long enough or should I go for the 200? Since I backpack a lot, every inch counts.
A: I have found this to be a bit short when I used it with a D800 and my Nikon 14-24. The Nikon D800 is so good and I have found that I really didn't need this to get good panos.
Q: 6. Does this rail have laser etched or painted on marks?
A: I'm not sure how to tell the difference between painted and laser etched, yet the numbers that are present (on each side of the rail, as well as the top) appear to be high quality and durable. The nodal rail also has a nice feel (weight) in the hand, and is solidly well constructed. I'd recommend the purchase. The only thing missing is a marker system to mark your settings once you've establish them for your particular lens. My work around for this has been some black electrical tape to mark my key positions, or to write the numbers down on some paper I keep with me.
Q: 7. Hello, with this Nodal Rail is nothing more necessary? I mean, do I put the Nodal Rail on my tripod, and can I use it for panoramic photographs? Or do I need to buy something else to complement it with the Nodal Rail?
A: You would need two of the other rails to build the full panoramic shooting rig. An easier alternative would be to get an L-Bracket and a tripod head that pans.
Q: 8. Has anyone tried this with an Acratech GP/GP-s/GP-ss ball head? I am thinking about saving some cash and using this nodal slide with my GP-ss with lever clamp.
A: I am sorry but the manufactures have not tested that Nodal Rail with that head. And Arca-Swiss heads are very precise and many items that are Arca-Swiss style will not fit as well as some other brands or its own brand.Best is to get an Arca-Swiss brand with their head.
Q: 9. New purchase of this Dracast DRRNG180BPS ring light. When I turned on my ring light I saw dirty dark spots around the light. Upon closer inspection I noticed these were the shadows of screws holding the unit together, showing through halo. Is this customary for these screws to show in the light? I have never seen this in any advertisements.
A: You would never see this in an ad, this has no effect whatsoever on the operation of the Ring light
Q: 10. Anybody use this for Macro photography? I'm concerned the clamp isn't strong enough to support the camera hanging over the end. I use a D300 with 105 mm Macro. Also the Kirk rail clamp rotates, but this doesn't. Any comments on this lack of function?
A: The ramp is plenty strong enough to support the camera/lens combination, but is your tripod head stable enough?
