The 52mm Genustech Eclipse ND Fader Filter 52mm 2-8 Stopis a solid variable neutral density filter providing an exposure reduction of approximately 2 to 8 stops. The 0.6 to 2.4 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, helping you to predetermine the additional exposure length required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

The filter is constructed from optical glass for high image quality and features an aluminum filter ring for rigidity and to prevent filter jamming. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is visually demarcated with dots that represent different density values. The front 55mm female threads of the filter are larger than the rear 52mm male threads to help minimize vignetting.

0.6 to 2.4 ND filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.

Providing a reduction of 2 to 8 stops, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

Laser technology helps to ensure notable color fidelity, sharpness, and clarity.

Optical glass construction maintains high image quality and aluminum filter ring works to prevent filter jamming.

Indexed filter ring enables easier, more consistent adjustment of ND settings.

Front threads measure 55mm to prevent vignetting.

Q: 1. I've never used a jib before. Thinking of getting for use with a Canon XA20 and/or EOS 70D. I need clarification on how these work. Can I put on my Manfrotto 503 head? If I set my camera for the view I want at eye level, will it maintain that orientation when I raise the camera to full height? Or would I need to view with my Nexus 7 via wi-fi to be sure I'm getting the same field? When fully extended will I have full control of the camera to get the view I want? Will the jib raise and lower smoothly so I can shoot video while moving? Would you recommend the Genustech Mini for my use? I need something very portable, quick and easy to set up and take down by one person. Any suggestions for an alternative jib? I'd like something in the $500 range. Thank you!

A: Can I put on my Manfrotto 503 head? answer yes If I set my camera for the view I want at eye level, will it maintain that orientation when I raise the camera to full height? answer - it will maintain the level but not the view, you will need to use the tripod head to tilt down while raising the jib and tilt up while lowering it and yes you would need to use your Nexus 7 via wifi just to make sure. Will the jib raise and lower smoothly so I can shoot video while moving? - as long as the jib is properly balanced with counter weights or sand bags then yes it will go up an d down smoothly.and yes i would recomend it for your use

Q: 2. Hi!, Can a 4x4 filter fit on this kit? ... the same question for a 4 x 5.6 filter.

A: I believe it's a an error on their part, as 5.65x5.65 would make the filter holder square. It is 4 x 5.65.

Q: 3. Can I put this matte box on a Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 25mm f/0.95 Lens?

A: The Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 25mm f/0.95 would be better suited in a mattebox with a donut for easier mounting, like this one, which is still 4x4:https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1483451-REG/camtree_mb_cms_camshade_video_matte_box.html

Q: 4. Will this mini-jib support the panasonic ag-ac90?

A: Hello, I don't know if you received an answer yet... But the reported weight of the ag-ac90 is 3.3-3.9 lbs. According to genus tech the max camera Weight is 9.36 lbs.

Q: 5. I dont get it...what is the difference between package 1 and 2 except the price??

A: The Gen X camera baseplate comes in to two packages to suite specific camera professionals requirements. Gen X Plate Camera Base Plate Package 1 contains one 15mm Rod Bracket Adaptor, while Genustech Gen X Plate Camera Base Plate Package 2 is available with the full set of two Rod Bracket Adaptors.

Q: 6. Does this allow for charging in use?

A: Yes.

Q: 7. can I ise it for Canon17-40mm lens?

A: Yes, at least if yours came with a 77mm adapter ring. I bought mine to use with the Canon 18-80 cine lens which also has a 77mm filter thread. I haven't actually used that combination, but I doubt that 1mm wider will cause vignetting.

Q: 8. Does this come with the side flaps?

A: The Genustech Production Matte Box Complete Kit comes with two (2) side flags.

Q: 9. What is gained by being able to remove the black cover?

A: By removing the cover you can use the umbrella as a shoot through for a different lighting look.

Q: 10. I want to use my Cordvision Cine Rings with this matte box. They have a 77mm thread, and 80mm outside diameter. Is there a 80mm clamp on ring for the Genustech Production Matte Box?

A: Genustech does not offer an 80mm clamp-on adapter ring for the Genustech Production Matte Box Complete Kit; however, the included 77mm step-up ring will screw onto a 77mm filter thread.

[0.25 lb] I have been using the 77mm version for a few years. It's invaluable to landscape photographers, not just long exposure, but under strong sunlight to reduce the light and increase contrast. works better than CL polarizer when light comes from all the directions. the 82mm works just as well like the 77mm. I bought it for nikon my 24-70mm VR. no issues so far.

[Aluminum] Excellent product, very little loss of sharpness and no color distortion. I have bought yet another one to replace a broken one (saved my Batis 25mm!). Use it a lot for film-making and couldn't be happier! I have three (different sizes) and couldn't be happier.

[Aluminum] I had bought another brand, started with a C and returned it. Bought this one and couldn't be happier. I am using it on the 16-35 lens, Sony A7s camera. As with most of these variable ND filters, you cannot install the lenses sun hood when using this. Doesn't matter though, this is a good ND filter and I would buy it again.

[0.25 lb] I got this and use it triple-stacked

Hollywood Black Magic 1/4 + Hoya IR CUT + This 77mm Eclipse Vari-ND

for use on my BMPCC rig. It works a treat and the combo give a really great look to my shots. I haven't tried it for long exposure photography but I suppose I really should.

[Glass] It really helps a lot to shoot at low 'f stops' or 't stops'! The only downside is that we cant put the lens cap or lens hood while using.

[Glass] I really like using slow shutter speeds. This product has allowed me to remove 3 stackable ND filters from my bag. Less/fewer is definitely better in this case.
