HS Series cabinets are designed to eliminate unwanted resonance and increase the

accuracy of sound reproduction to their extreme limit. The enclosures are constructed from

a dense MDF with a damped acoustic response. HS Series engineers also employed a traditional three-way mitered-joint technique. Common to architectural design, this construction firmly anchors the corners of the enclosure to improve durability and eliminate unwanted resonance that can influence overall sound

Speaker port design can greatly influence the clarity of overall sound. Often a vortex at the either end of the port can generate air vibrations inside of the port, causing unwanted noise. By adopting a noise reduction technology that incorporates an analysis of

a visual representation of the sound, Yamaha's engineers are able to control and reduce the vortex. Through this analysis Yamaha has arrived at a port design that reduces noise up to 6dB

HS Series full-range models feature two response controls with settings that allow them to adapt to the surface acoustics of rooms of varying shape and size. ROOM CONTROL allows you to

attenuate the unnatural, exaggerated low-end that can often occur when speakers are placed

next to walls, while HIGH TRIM allows for more flexible control of high frequency response.

For inputs, HS full-range speakers can accommodate a range of balanced and unbalanced sources such as mixers, keyboards and audio interfaces with XLR and TRS phone jacks

[24 lb] I bought a pair of these for my recording studio and although I haven't recorded with them yet I tested them and I know they work great.

[43 Hz to 30 kHz] A pair of these speakers were purchased for my son who is into video editing. He said they have exceeded his expectations. The sounds are crisp and the overall quality is very good. He is very, very happy. The items were securely packaged by BH and arrived in the Caribbean in tact.

[43 Hz to 30 kHz] After a miserable encounter with Guitar Center and my money being held hostage for 3 weeks when I had nothing of theirs. Anywho...
B&H was same price. I saved on the taxes by getting a Payboo card. And the gear was shipped very fast. I’m an overly excited with my new layout and the speakers sound great. Great for a small home studio.

[24 lb] I'm using these for sound mixing as a video editor, and have been super pleased. I initially bought a much cheaper set of monitors from Presonus, but they generated a ton of background noise - even with no source plugged in. These monitors are crystal clear - the ability to tweak the bass response is wonderful, and they're built like absolute tanks.

[55 W] I had read a lot of reviews about these and the lack of bass response. I really like the tone of these. A flat response with a very pro monitor mid range ie tone. Not sure how to discribe other then the tone is Very clean and crisp. I was thinking I would get the sub woofer as these are not only for mixing audio for my pro video projects but also for my own entertainment system. In my small room the bass is plenty. I may or may not buy the sub. When I crank it up I do notice the high end and high end mid range get a little brash. In my small room there is not a need to really do that. I’m very happy and it truly feels like a pro product, unlike many of the others I checked out in this league.

[55 W] For mixing these are hard to beat. Clean. Every vocal. Every nuance. Every instrument. If it's clean on these speakers it will be great on whatever folks are listening on...even the non-discerning. And if you want to rock out with them, you can equalize and turn the volume up. Can't imagine a better set of speakers for a small room mix.

[55 W] Upgrade for my production setup. Previously working just in headphones. More than ample volume for smaller rooms. To my ears bass is present but not overstated. Clear mids/highs. Very solid option in this price range.

[24 lb] I bought these to supplement a mixing setup with larger 10 speakers, and they do a great job giving me a new perspective, especially monitoring EQ adjustments in the mid-range and high-end. I also bought a Mackie Big Knob to flip back and forth quickly, and love being able to keep the energy up while I check my mix quickly on the different speakers. Highly recommend to take your studio and mixes to the new level.
