A: The Audio-Technica AT8022 uses a coincident capsule configuration in order to produce and X/Y stereo image in a small housing. This mic is great for recording live music. The key is distance and a good focal point. The X-Y technique offers little to no benefit if you're too close to the source. Experiment different distances; and this all varies from venue to venue.

A: This turntable is made to operate with 120 VAC, 60 Hz power only. For uses with 220 volt power, I would recommend using it with a step-down transformer, such as the Watson VCG-SD85 85 Watt VStep-Down International Voltage Transformer, B&H # WAVCGSD85.

A: When using the Audio-Technica AT8022 X/Y Stereo Phantom and Battery Powered Field Microphone with its XLR to 3.5mm TRS output cable, the microphone will not receive phantom power from the corresponding 3.5mm input connection. When used with this connection the AT8022 should be powered from its AA battery compartment.

[26 AWG] I support about 85 heavy use conference rooms and although we have digital connectivity in most of them my clients still use analog almost exclusively. I switched over to Kramer cables (analog and digital) about a year ago and am pretty happy with the switch. The ones I order are very pliable and seem to take the punishment of constant use pretty well. 5

[7.6 x 7.1 x 2"] The cables aren't braided, thick or spectacular, but they were purchased for very short runs, in only one foot lengths, for low signal level use, and so they are as perfect as they need to be, at a very good price. If I needed longer cables, or signal transmission measured in greater than milliwatt units, I'd spend a little more. The cables won't need to be swapped out much, are of good enough quality that I'm not worried they'll ever break, and the plating will assure years of rustless service. 5
