A: The HDMI to SDI 6G has analog audio inputs for embedding. It does not de embed.

A: Agree also. Have not noticed any audio delay from video. Use it among other things to drive a large hallway monitor so people outside the worship can watch/listen.

A: No, requires 12 volt power.

Q: 4. I plan to use this with a monitor to use the 3D LUT capability. Is there a power button, or way to shut the unit down when the monitor attached is powered off?

A: No, the Mini Converters don't have a power button. You would either need to disconnect it from the power source to turn it off, or connect the power supply to a power switch to easily turn it on and off.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with Mac OS 10.10.5?

A: The setup program has a minimum requirement of 10.12 but some of these applications will work on earlier OS versions. You could test this by downloading the app and seeing if it will install. That said, you only need to install the app if you are going to update firmware on the device.

Q: 6. Is there a difference between cheap 50 dollars converters and this one. While being use with deck link mini to feed 10 bit signal to monitor?

A: The Decklink Mini Monitor already has both active HDMI and SDI outputs so it is not necessary to add an additional converter in this case.

Q: 7. I am wanting to connect a 2013 iMac to a ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K. Would this Converter work if I used Mini DisplayPort to HDMI from the iMac, to the HDMI in on this Converter, and then passed SDI to the Switcher?

A: Hi, I don't have the switcher, but I do have the Blackmagic HDMI-SDI 6g, and an atomos shogun inferno, and a 2012 MacMini. I was able to see output from the Mac Mini at 1080p, but did not see any choices for higher resolution. I'm not sure that you can even pass 4:2:0 2160 signal at 30fps over a 3g input Blackmagic does make an admittedly more expensive HDMI - SDI convert to pass full UHD, BH #BLTRMHDMISDI • MFR #CONVNTRM/AB/HSDI (the Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini HDMI to SDI 12G Converter). I'm not a B&H employee, but they have a very reasonable return policy; you could ask if they wuold let you try the cheaper one, and if it didn't work, exchange it with more $$ for the faster one.

Q: 8. can i use this converter from an hdmi viewfinder to sdi or the hdmi should be coming directly from the camera or the original source and not a loupe through??

A: Normally, you send the video out from the camera to the viewfinder, loop though the viewfinder to a transmitter or another monitor. If your monitor hasn't a loop through, you will have to get a signal splitter. If your camera and monitor have incompatible video connections, you can use the following devices to conveniently convert the signals.

Q: 9. What is the processing delay in ms?

A: It is about 4 lines except when down converting which will be about a frame.

Q: 10. I see that it will downconvert to 1080p on the HDMI output when a non-4k device is connected, but will the SDI output still be 4k in this case? Looking for simultaneous 4k SDI out for recording and 1080p HMDI out to ATEM Mini

A: If the main stream is 4k over SDI the output of the converter will be setup to what the receiver, lcd or recorder wants. As long as the recorder is setup to receive and communicate to the converter it wants 4k that’s what will be available.

[10' / 3 m ] I really like this cable. I'm a video Editor and Cinematographer in NYC and the other day, I was shooting with a DSLR with a full frame sensor and another camera which I operated. When I mounted a monitor on the DSLR he person I had shooting with the DSLR commented that he had done this before and the monitor kept going out. I had the same problem before and it got worse after the monitor fell and the cable I was using became very intermittent, worse then before. This previous cable had never been great to begin with and I wasn't sure if it was the DSLR connection or electronics that were not great. After using this cable, the feed to the monitor has been !00% reliable which is a great help when needing a larger monitor than the back of the camera which is clear but on the small side. What really impressed me is that when I bought this cable, it was only slightly more then the cheapest one while some of these cables even in this short length are 4 times as expensive, directed towards people who have become Leary of cheaper cables no doubt. The strength of the cable seems to be in the very solid boots that house the end tips and the body is a bit thicker. This makes it slightly less flexible than the cheapest ones but that is a negligible issue and the resulting reliability is high. 5

[0.285 lb] I used this cable mated with a 25 foot HDMI cable (made by Audtek) with a female-to-female HDMI coupler (made by QVS) and it worked with no issues. The application was a DSLR camera in Live shoot mode (with clean HDMI output) to a video switcher with HDMI inputs. 35 length of cable to the camera position. Worked fine! One thing I'll add is not a negative but an observation about the photo. I was expecting the cable to be slightly thinner than the Pearson HDMI which is less pricey (I purchased both to keep one as a spare), they are more or less the exact same diameter. Note equivalent spec cable made by Pearson was tested with the DSLR camera and also worked fine (but didn't test with extension length and coupler). This Kramer HDMI cable should last years and years (and so will the Pearson); to me, the Kramer seems a little more "hardened" but can't speak to one or the other's long term reliability because I just got them. 5

[10' / 3 m ] i found these on a search for narrower diameter cables and found that these meet industry standards.. and are priced great. other cables i used to use have no standard they meet and why they are built like they are. THESE ARE MY ONLY CABLE I WILL USE... unless forced to use a swiveling end they dont make. you will not be disappointed... 5

[10' / 3 m ] Purchased this cable because of features and price, to replace an older, low quality cable connecting a Sony PS3 to a 60 Samsung LED television. The picture using the old cable was low quality with frequent jumps and skips when watching both DVD's and online content. This new cable eliminated this problem. I can think of no cons about this cable. 5
