The DB-TPR2A Active RCA Stereo Audio Output over Dual RJ45 Receiver Module from RDL DB-TPR2A Stereo Audio Receiver Module Dual RJ45 Blackis a CAT5 to RCA phono receiver module. The The DB-TPR2A features a black front-panel laminate. The DB-TPR2A module features two RCA phono jack outputs, one for the left channel output and one for the right channel. The audio signals received from pairs B and C of the twisted pair cable are buffered to drive the output jacks at the standard -10 dBV consumer level.

This module receives signal from only two cable pairs, so the DB-TPR2A module has a second RJ45 jack to connect cables to additional receiver modules. A separate single-pair receiver may be chained to the second RJ45 jack. In addition to completing the reception of signals from all three FORMAT-A pairs, additional receivers may be connected to the same twisted pair feed. The bridging input circuits used in all FORMAT-A twisted pair receivers allow connection of up to 10 receiver outputs for each cable pair. The possibility of multiple receiver locations adds enormous flexibility in the design of audio routing systems using RDL FORMAT-A products. The power pair and all three audio pairs are fed through both rear-panel RJ45 jacks.

The DB-TPR2A may be powered directly from a 24 VDC power supply using the rear-panel detachable terminal block. Local power connected to the module is also fed to all connected remote modules. The DB-TPR2A may be remotely powered through the twisted pair cable from any other module, signal distributor or RDL power inserter connected to the same twisted pair cable. Module power is indicated by a front-panel LED. This module is designed to be mounted in wall boxes, cabinets or other enclosures that allow users to connect external equipment. The DB-TPR2A unit can be mounted in RDL WB-1U and WB-2U wall boxes, or in standard U.S. electrical boxes.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The R-S202 is right for my needs, simple, powerful, and bluetooth, but has no subwoofer out, so a sub would be wired via high level speaker outs, which is supposed to be the least prefered connection for a sub, any thoughts or experience with this? Thanks.

A: That would not be ideal but you can try going from the Line Out into an active subwoofer with RCA inputs or 1/8'' input.

Q: 2. This may sounds like an odd question, but are the feet removable? The only way this will fit in my cabinet is to remove the feet.

A: Yes you can remove the feet on the Yamaha R-S202.

Q: 3. connecting R-S202 to Pioneer FS52 Floor standing speakers should I use regular wiring or bi-wiring? Which is one is better?

A: The Yamaha R-S202 Stereo Receiver with Bluetooth (Black), B&H # YARS202BL, should sound more or less identical regardless of whether it has standard wiring or bi-wiring. Bi-wiring can potentially reduce resistance within the wiring, but this difference would likely not be audible on any equipment being used outside of a professional studio, and therefore wouldn't make much of a difference on this particular receiver.

Q: 4. In which country is this amp manufactured?

A: It is manufactured in Japan.

Q: 5. Does this work for both moving coil or moving magnet phonos?

A: Unfortunately the manufacturer does not specify which cartridges are recommended, however we would recommend this unit for use with MM cartridges for best results.

Q: 6. Can you play different sources on channel A and B at the same tine?

A: No it cannot.

Q: 7. Does the Line in connections work with a Bose Series 4 Equalizer? Mine doesn't. I think my equalizer might be bad. My old receiver failed that had tape in out connections.

A: In the traditional receiver there is a tape monitor feature allowing an equalizer to be connected to the input and output RCA connectors. You would then use the equalizer to connect your tape deck. This receiver has no provision for this traditional equalizer circuit. There are three lines available...DVD player, CD recorder, and tape deck...there is no tape monitor button or selector. Only one source is available at a time. I would suggest that you look for a receiver which has a tape monitor button as well as inputs and outputs utilizing the RCA jack feature.

Q: 8. What about power voltage? Is it available at 220V?Do you have a pre-voltage product?

A: B&H only offers the 120VAC 60 Hz model.

Q: 9. Will this receiver work with Harman Kardon home theatre product HKTS 16 ?

A: This receiver is stereo (2-channel) and will not connect to the HKTS 16 which is a 5.1 channel surround sound speaker system.

Q: 10. What is the effective range for Bluetooth Connectivity?

A: Have not used Bluetooth yet, but plan to.

[0.4 lb] Works exactly as promised. In our theatre sound system (anchored by a Yamaha CL-1 digital mixing console) sound from any laptop source (we tried three) would be clear until the laptop was also connected to the Barco projector. Once connected, an audible 60Hz hum would be created. It didn't matter if the projector was connected by VGA or HDMI cable, and running the laptop on battery instead of AC also made no difference. Hum Killer to the rescue. Problem solved.

[Power In] I was having an issue with a hum/buzz when connecting the camera-out of my Tascam DR-701D recorder to the mic-in of my Panasonic GH4 camera, while syncing both devices via HDMI. I tried a variety of ways to track down and isolate the problem, including a couple of other hum eliminators, but nothing consistently worked. The EZ-HK1, connected between the devices via its stereo mini jacks, solved the problem perfectly. I was also impressed by the overall build quality -- unlike so much stuff these days that's cheaply made, this is a solid, well-designed product that feels like it's going to last. It doesn't have XLR or 1/4 connections (I have other options for those) but for mini-jacks or RCA, it's excellent.

[2 x RCA Phono] Upon installation the hum was gone completely. Just plug it in and it is working, no external power needed.

[0.4 lb] Has been excellent to use. My only wish is that they integrated it into their audio mixer and/or offered this unit with several channels. That might help get the cost down. You almost always need at least one of these, and often several. Ground loops are just a reality and this helps.

[0.4 lb] I had an awful hum coming from a newly built PC. Research brought me to B&H for this purchase. I installed it in a few minutes, booted the PC, hum gone. Amazing, actually. This unit is Plug and Play. Worth every penny.
