Upgrade the memory in your 2013 Mac Pro (MacPro6,1) using the OWC 64GB DDR3 1866MHz RDIMM Kit for 2013 Mac Profrom OWC / Other World Computing. This memory kit features a total capacity of 64GB, which is made up of four 16GB modules. It also has a clock speed of 1866 MHz, a bus speed of PC3-14900, and a 240-pin RDIMM form factor. It operates using 1.5V, has a CAS Latency of CL=13, a module bandwidth of 14.9 GB/s, a component configuration of 2048M x 72, is registered, and is equipped with ECC technology. Registered memory places less electrical loads on the memory controller and allows single systems to remain stable with more memory modules than they would have otherwise. By offering ECC (Error Checking and Correcting) technology, this RAM will help your workstation encounter fewer errors that can corrupt data sets and introduce system issues. Additionally, this memory module is compatible with Apple Specified Thermal Sensor, which ensures that the RAM maintains a safe thermal operating range.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This is not an ECC type, but will it work on MacPro late 2013?

A: This memory is ECC memory and is made for the 2013 Mac Pro, but it is Registered memory which cannot be mixed with non-Registered modules.

Q: 2. Can I use those OWC in addition to my Mac Pros (12 core mid 2012) original Hynix modules?

A: I can tell you that those dimm work fine in your mac, but I don' t know if you can mix with others . In fact I had incompatibility problems with other dimm ( not The original).

Q: 3. Do these have heat spreaders attached?

A: The RAM chips in this kit have heat sinks attached to them.

Q: 4. I'd like to use these in a late 2012 mac mini (6,1). Will they work?

A: Yes, the OWC 16GB DDR3 1333 MHz SODIMM Memory Kit (2 x 8GB, Mac) would be compatible with the Mac mini (6,1).

Q: 5. Can i use this in my Asus motherboard that support DDR3 133MHz?

A: The RAM is compatible with Intel / AMD Process based PCs capable with the specifications listed above. Memory complies with JEDEC Specifications, document JESD79-3B

Q: 6. Will this work in a Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard?

A: From the limited specifications I can find on that motherboard, I believe the memory will work, but I cannot make any guarantee, as we have not tested this RAM with that motherboard.

Q: 7. Can I install this in my MacBook Pro Mid 2010?Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 DuoMemory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB

Q: 8. Will this work with the MacPro5,1 that has one Quad-Core Intel Xeon 2.66 GHz processor ?

A: This kit should work with all Quad and Eight core Mac Pro 5,1's.

Q: 9. will these work in a Mac Pro mid-2012 5.1 6-core machine?

A: If your Mid 2012 Mac Pro shipped with 1333Hz RAM it will be fully compatible with the computer. Note that some Mid 2012 models shipped with 1066MHz RAM. You can verify which your system uses by opening the System Information application in the Utilities folder.

Q: 10. Is this RAM compatible with this specifications?- PC3-10600E, 1333 MHz, DDR3 SDRAM UDIMMs and RDIMMs- Error-correcting code (ECC)- 72-bit wide, 240-pin ECC modules- 36 ICs maximum per ECC UDIMMIt's a mid 2012 12 core MACPROThanks

[64 GB] I very recently purchased a new Mac Pro 6-Core D700. Spending the money (hopefully) where it counts! Ha ha... After some googling around I came to the conclusion that I should aim for the least amount of RAM from Apple as possible, because it's really the simplest component to upgrade yourself and Apple charges an extra $ or so dollars for 64GB of their RAM v.s. an upgrade kit like this OWC! It was really a no-brainer. Anyway, it's been about 3 weeks with this memory and I have to say that I have really been enjoying it :) I'd recommend it for sure. If you know you're going to need some serious memory for multi-tasking or just intensive programs. There's not a better upgrade kit out there! OWC even sends a little tool to help you access the Mac Pro memory where Apple would just suggest using your fingers. Forget using fingers! This Mac is a 5k investment, LOL, I'm gonna treat it with some respect. Much-o thanks for the tool OWC! :D

[Yes] This was such an easy, quick upgrade to my 2013 Mac Pro trashcan! Literally popping out the original memory cards and putting these in their places. Took me maybe five minutes. I added 64gb RAM.
I just finished using the OWC SSD Aura Pro 1TB upgrade, and am looking forward to continuing to monitor the performance compared to the original 12gb RAM and 256GB SSD.
Replacing the SSD was surprisingly simple - I used Carbon Copy Cloner - just the free trial - and copied my original SSD over onto the new internal from OWC using the included SSD enclosure (available as a kit from OWC or here on B&H).
I bought the trashcan on sale three years ago (from B&H on Black Friday) I think and it was so much cheaper to buy the base configuration and make my own mods rather than paying out the nose for Apple's upgrades. Plus I could spread out the purchases and have the extra, original SSD in the new enclosure. Win win.

[240-Pin DIMM] There was only 3 x 4GB memory on my MacPro 2013 and I recently found it difficult to upgrade because no more relevant card could be found in the local market of my home town, unless I found this in B&H. Great!
