Some people just won't believe that one of the easiest ways to improve image quality is to ALWAYS use a lens hood---almost as important as making sure that the lens and filter are clean. Yet some people seem to toss it aside and then totally forget about it 5

[0.05 lb] This Sigma hood is made from a quality matte surface material (a plastic) which appears to be non reflective. Excellent design in the way that it rotates on and locks securely. A bonus of this hood is that you can use a 58mm filter on the lens AND another 82mm filter on the hood itself (I use an 82mm circular polarizer). 5

[0.05 lb] A very lovely addition for DP1 series users, its 28mm framing is very accurate for the camera. The main reason I purchase it is that DP series have such poor battery life, and not using LCD screen to frame(you have an option to turn LCD off)effectively extents the battery life. My recommendation for outdoor shot by using it is to set the the Focus to MF and always set the focus point a little bit less than infinity, in most of the good light condition, you can use a f/8 aperture, focus accuracy wouldn't be a matter. 5
