[7 lb / 3.2 kg] I have been an AM radio listener for over 60 years. Back in the 1960's most American-made radios were made with pride, lasted forever and sounded great. This Sony radio is a throwback to those old machines. The sound is terrific, with little static, even in normally electronically noisy areas that challenge radios such as the Sangean models. Yes, pre-tuning buttons would be nice, but the tuning light on the front makes finding stations easy. The knobs are all tight and the overall build quality seems good. The FM reception is crisp and clear as well.

[7 lb / 3.2 kg] This compact easy to use radio is so handy that I bought 3; one for bedroom,one for photo studio & one at my desk. The reception for my home is clean and steady. This radio is compact,has long cord for flexible placement and quick tuner adjustments.

[8.2 lb] As a long-time user of Sony electronics and photo gear I knew that the Icf-506 would fulfill my need for a simple AM/FM receiver to pull out weaker signals from a saturated urban radio listening environment. It does this job extremely well and the audio from its near 4 inch speaker is crisp and clear. Easy to understand voice and fully rounded music audio - even for a hearing impaired person like myself. I haven’t yet tried pulling in weaker nightime stations as yet but I am certain it will excel at this task as well. A winner all the way.

[28 W maximum] I bought it like a month ago and it has great sound and volume for being small, it’s simple and very easy to use and take with me on the go.

[8.2 lb] My first radio at 11 years old, 56 years ago, was a Sony. It performed wonderfully for over 20 years before being lost in a move. I was so pleased to recently discover Sony still makes portable, no non-sense portable radios with basic features, excluding all the unnecessary bells and whistles. I've had my new Sony portable radio for 2 months now and I can say the original quality standards that were so impressive over half a century ago continue to be instilled in their products. Very Highly Recommended !

[8.2 lb] Much better picture than using VCR for modulator and Radio Shack RF switcher. No lines much better picture. I only use Blonder-Tongue for modulators.

[28 W maximum] I've been looking for a radio that can pull in a low power classical musical station & with this radio I've solved search.
