The Midas DL155 Stagebox 8 Mic Preamps AES I/O AES50from Midas DL155 Stagebox 8 Mic Preamps AES I/O AES50is a stagebox that features eight analog inputs, eight analog outputs, eight channels of AES3 AES/EBU input and output and delivers the company's legendary sound quality in a cost effective, rugged 19", 2U rack mount chassis. Equipped with eight MIDAS microphone preamplifiers with 2.5 dB gain steps and dual redundant AES50 network ports, the unit is the ideal partner to the PRO1 and PRO2 digital consoles, significantly increasing the network capacity through additional analog and digital inputs and outputs.

Interface controls and feedback are available via the intuitively laid out front panel. The controls and LED indicators provide ease of use and instant status feedback. All primary connections use high quality balanced XLR connectors and the road-ready unit is ideally suited for mounting in an optional standard flight case.

A: The Allen & Heath CQ-20B Ultracompact 20-Channel Digital Mixer (Rackmount/Stagebox) and all models in the CQ series are self-contained and are not compatible for use with digital stageboxes. Tracks can be sourced from the XLR inputs, an SD card, or the USB ports. The Allen & Heath Qu-SB Portable 18-In/14-Out Digital Mixer (B&H # ALAHQUSB) and Allen & Heath Qu-Pac 16x12 Compact Mountable Mixer (B&H # ALAHQUPAC32) are similar rackmount mixers that are compatible for use with Allen & Heath's 48k stageboxes.

A: Yes, the companion app for the Allen & Heath CQ-20B Ultracompact 20-Channel Digital Mixer (Rackmount/Stagebox) can be used on a laptop or desktop computer.

A: YES, the power can be supplied via the USB cable. I use it to connect a condenser microphone to an Apple laptop without issue.

A: We are shipping the Mini Stagebox 16 fitted with a single-cable Cat 5 MADI HD interface for connection to the host console using an approved Cat 5 cable (not included). If required, this MADI HD interface card can be upgraded (sold separately) to either redundant (dual-cable) Cat 5 or redundant (dual-fibre) optical fiber with the compatible MADI HD interface card.

[48 or 96 kHz] For a case made in China, this is still a really good quality build. While it's made for the Midas M32R, I purchased it for the Allen & Heath SQ-5 (it's a nicer board than the M32R for a whole host of reasons) because I wanted a foam lined case, not a hard rack rail and I haven't been able to find any other manufacturer making the case to accommodate the SQ-5. This case will do it with a little work, which is what I expected. Remember to save your Allen & Heath packing foam, then see my attached photo for details on how to make a SQ-5 fit nicely into this unit. Perhaps ProX will make an SQ-5 case as soon as that mixer gains popularity. Until then, my modification is really nice. (Note: out of the box, this ProX case looks like it will fit the M32R without any modifications.) 5

[48 or 96 kHz] This thing is well worth the price, as we use a separate computer to mix our broadcast audio through a DAW. This thing allows us to have that computer in our broadcast studio with no loss of audio quality! Much better than running 100ft of USB, if it would even send anything at that range. 5

[48 or 96 kHz] This is the second mini stage box I have purchased (the first was the 32 channel installed at our church). We are a church plant who sets up and tears down every week. The mini stage box makes that process extremely simple and easy to use for brand new volunteers. All our gear is mounted into two racks (one front of house, the other sits on the stage). We simply pull one Cat5 cable between the two boxes, run xlr cables to powered speakers and we are ready to play. The the inputs/outputs are easy to program on an Si Expression board (or any other Soundcraft board). I would highly recommend this product. To purchase a high quality traditional snake, we would spend at least $700. So, the $1,000 price tag isn't too bad. 5
