Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it provide Phantom Power to the xlr inputs?

A: It does not provide phantom power.

Q: 2. would this work for Blackmagic cinema pocket camera?

A: The IndiPRO Tools POWER POD produces 7.2 VDC while the BM Pocket Camera requires 12-20 VDC. So this power solution is not correct.I would suggest the Switronix PocketBase and the Quick release as the best solution at this time.

Q: 3. Each xlr input is split into separate left and right or mixed?

A: Yes they are separate channels.

Q: 4. Will this work with the A7/m2?

A: Yes it will, this will work with all the cameras in Sony's A7 line up, including the A7SII.

Q: 5. How long does the power last with a metabones speed booster attached?

A: This unit will power the BM pocket camera a extra 3 hours or more depending on the LP-E6 batteries your using with the Metabones. Plus the BM pockets battery time.

Q: 6. can you power an external monitor with this as well as a bmpcc simultaneously?

A: No, it does not have a D tap or any other sort of DC out other than the plug for the Pocket Camera. Also, the power demands of the camera itself would make doing this impractical.

Q: 7. does it include the batteries?

A: No this unit does not include batteries. All batteries are sold separately.

Q: 8. does this also work (given the LP-E6 battery) with canon eos DSLR cameras?

A: This unit is designed to power the Sony A7 series of cameras, it will not work with Canon DSLRs that are powered by LP-E6 batteries. However IndiPRO Tools makes similar solutions that will. They have LP-E6 powered battery grids that you can use on cameras like the Canon 5D Mark III, 7D Mark II, 6D and more.

Q: 9. I've used this for the last few weeks with the black magic production camera but suddenly the camera is not recognizing power output. going off its own power. I've tried using different 2.5mm cables but the camera will no longer recognize it is there a particular 2.5mm power cable I should be using or will any 2.5mm suffice?

A: We contacted IndiPro regarding your issue and they said it may be the cable, it may be the camera. In order that your issue be resolved as expeditiously as possible, I suggest contacting IndiPro directly. 516-303-4465a href= http://www.indiproco.com target= _blank www.indiproco.com/a

Q: 10. Can this be used with 2.5mm indie pro tools sony a7s dummy battery regulated cable even though its 14.4 Volts?

A: Yes, you can use the IndiPRO Tools 69SA7 2.5mm to Sony a7s Dummy Battery Cable (24 , Regulated) cable with this POWER POD. The key word is regulated. This means the cable changes the current from 14.4 volts down to the cameras 7.2 volts operating current.

[19 mm Rod Mount] I purchased this unit and it worked flawlessly, then suddenly didn't work one day... I contacted IndieProTools and they responded within one day with troubleshooting ideas, and ultimately shipped a brand new replacement unit and paid return shipping for the old one. Great product and excellent customer service from IndieProTools, I don't anticipate an issue with this new one. Works great and adds hours of usability on to the Pocket Cinema Cam. I dont use the XLR inputs often but it's a nice addition to have when needed.

[19 mm Rod Mount] Amazing!! this thing works like a charm, I was able to record non-stop video last week at a live concert and still had 3 hours left on the batteries!! when fully charged two canon Lp-E6 shoud give you around 4 if not more hours of juice!!! :D. Did I mention you can hot swap them too? Yes, If you have let say 3 batteries and they are fully charged you can let two run for 4 hours and then hot swap one of them for the extra juice!! so far so good I had nothing but great experience with this baby!! Keep in mind that sony a7s can only record 29 minutes at a time, lucky me I own a Ninja Blade so I'm by passing all this limitations :) ... On top of giving you 4 hours plus power on the A7S it also has two XLR mic inputs that will convert to a normal mic jack so you can attach it to the a7s and get two channels (keep in mind this does not provide phantom power).. this is just the cherry on the top :) don't expect phantom power. Great amazing product and it comes ready to attach to any rod system rig like mine (look at pictures)

[2] It's nice to make that leap from shooting on a DSLR to working with the Blackmagic Production 4K camera. It makes the transition even easier when I'm able to use all the batteries I've accumulated over the years. Also, being able to plug in sound with XLR inputs is a HUGE bonus.

[0.65 lb] It is the best tool to potentiate the battery and make the shootings are practical and efficient.

[0.65 lb] This is perfect, it's lightweight, small, affordable and not in the way when I use a shoulder mount. Phantom Power for the XLRs would have been smart, not sure what they where thinking, but you can't have everything. That being said, I love the size. It allows my rig to stay small and very portable.

[2] Battery life on my A7s is poor, so I needed better battery life for portable work - this unit fits the bill. Its light, and allows me to use my collection of Canon batteries, for 4x+ recording time. Connects to my A7s cage, is light, and easy to use.

[2] I am currently using this product on a Canon 6D. It will work with both a Battery Grip and Body. Both have a rubber flap that allows the cord to come out the bottom. The batteries swap out well and hold into place. maybe the could fit a bit more snug but still works. if you are uncomfortable then you gaffers tape. with four off brand batteries it can extend shooting to around 14 hours. but if you swap out you can go continuous. The rod clamp I really cant use. would be nice if it were more versatile, but I have it sitting on another bracket. all in all,IMHO, this would be better than using a BG-E13 battery grip.

[19 mm Rod Mount] Works great no real complaint, except that I can't see the battery life This isn't entirely crucial seeing as how it goes into the power adapter for your camera that you keep a battery in so you will see that it's dead when you no longer see the charge icon and you are now running on camera battery only. I will say it feels cheap (but then again it is cheap, and works for now)

[19 mm Rod Mount] What a difference a little decent power makes! Many of us Sony acolytes have found out the hard way that even 6 FW50s is not enough to get you through a day; they drain fast and charge SLOWWWW. This nifty dual LP-E6 solution is a LIFE-SAVER for A7S ii users like myself and the added XLR audio inputs is a darn nice addition, to boot, even though I rarely use them. So far, it's been my primary power for the camera, giving me up to an hour & 40mins of sweet, sweet juice as opposed to the sad 40 to 45mins on a single FW50. I try to treat it gently, bearing in mind the plastic parts and the single 1/4x20 screw attaching the 15mm rod clamp to the housing, but that's easy to do at my age... nothing lasts forever but we can push are luck as far as it will go... ;)
