[Aluminum] I wanted to buy a battery grip for my new T3I and i was looking for a reliable,sturdy and affordable battery grip. This met my standards and I havent looked back since buying it. Has been through all types of weather and still holds up to the Canon version!

[Aluminum] I have been using Canon gear since I was 13 (57 now). I was a strong believer that accessory item had to have the Canon logo attached to it. First I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy the Vello grip, it was a new name that I didn't know of. I inspected it before attaching it to my Canon T4i, it was sturdy, had a comfortable feeling to it. The batteries fit with no problem. I then took out my Canon 7D and it's battery grip for compasrison purposes. Both units looked and felt almost exactly the same. The buttons and switches are the same colors, do the same functions. Some people made mention that the Vello unit did not allow the camera to show battery strength. After reading the manufacturers guide, I made note that the battery grip has to be turned on after the camera has been turned on first. I have had no problems with this unit at all. The only thing that I noticed is that the battery lock door doesn't seem as sturdy as the Canon version, but it is not weak by any means so please don't that wrong. I would recommend this battery grip to anybody that needs dependable longer lasting power, novice or pro. B&H once again has the best price for this item, and have been great to buy from over a twenty five year period.

[Aluminum] Purchased one for my sister as a Christmas gift and was so impressed with the quality and price that I've purchased one for my own T2i. I have the Canon BG-E11 Battery Grip for the 5D Mark III and of course that is of better quality, but for this price the quality of this grip is exceptional, and it's very light as well.

[Arca-Type] This product is truly superb. When purchasing the battery grip for my Canon T4i, I had a moral dilemma. I could either A: Save money and go with a third party, less reliable battery grip (The BG-C5 Batter Grip); or B: Spend twice the money on a Canon certified battery grip. The main difference was that the Canon battery grip would be more trusted, and would be less likely to cause harm to my camera, since it was made by the company that makes my camera in the first place. Anyways, eventually, I chose to save money and buy the Vello battery grip. When it arrived at my doorstep, I must be honest, I wasn't exactly thrilled, because I had a sneaking suspicion that I was going to be disappointed with the quality of the product, considering that it was considerably cheaper than the Canon branded battery grip. I was pleasantly surprised. After taking the battery grip out of the box, I was shocked at how sturdy the grip was. The battery grip was stiff, sturdy, and superb overall in build quality in feel. I've already dropped it a couple times by accident (shhhh don't tell anyone) and the grip doesn't even bare a scratch to show for it. It's pretty light, but you can definitely feel the weight when you attach it to your camera. Other than that, it does exactly what it's supposed to do. It doubles your battery life, and when you run out of one cartridge of regular LP-E8 batteries, you can slide in the second cartridge that holds six (6) double AA batteries. Definitely buy this if you find that the battery life of your camera just isn't long enough for your needs!

[Arca-Type] I’ve seen these battery grips before and I’ve always wanted to try one. So, I finally took the plunge and I’m glad I did. The grip has two battery packs plus it has shutter button on the side of the grip. Very easy to use, love it!

[Aluminum] I was looking for a grip that would allow me to use 2 batteries for more shooting capacity for my Canon T3I. I was originally skeptical because of the low price, but thought I should give it a try. I was impressed with the overall build and quality of this battery grip. Install - you need to take the camera's battery compartment lid off, but there is a place to store it in the grip so that you don't lose it - what a great idea! The grip simply screws into the tripod socket of the camera, and supplies a replacement on its bottom. There is a switch which turns on/off the push buttons on the grip. That's something I was worried about. I did not want to have those extra buttons active when I was not using them. When the camera is being held for portrait shots, there's an additional button for focus/shutter release - right where you need it. There's also new buttons for Aperture/Exposure Comp., AF Point/Magnify, AE Lock/FE Lock/Index/Reduce, and of course, a Main Dial -- all just where they need to be when holding the camera by the grip. I have not had a chance to try the AA battery holder. I am so happy with this battery grip that I am going to buy a second one (different model) for my Canon XSi.

[Aluminum] This works well on my old Canon T2i. I had an old cheap battery grip that was made of some flimsy plastic, this is a lot better.
