Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How thick are the walls of this case? It look flimsy and it feels that this model is meant to protect a bag for golf clubs? If I check this light stand case, with under 50lbs of tripods and light stands, will it arrive to my destination in tact? I'm concerned if dropped, one of the light stands will puncture through the case.

A: The light stands and tripods would not likely puncture the case. The case is not padded so the bigger concern would be the stands and tripods grinding against each other.

Q: 2. Does the Profoto shallow 33 silver umbrella have a beaded or pebbled interior surface? I like that type best as it seems to disperse the light more evenly.

A: The Profoto Shallow Silver Umbrella (Small, 33 ), B&H # PRUSSS, has a slight beaded texture.

Q: 3. are the TSA approved locking buckles replaceable? Love the case but both buckles broke after 4 flights

A: It appears that they are not, you should contact the manufacturer to find out for sure because this is not information they have provided us and our website, and we do not carry the exact locks this case has.

Q: 4. I am interested in the SKB Roto-Molded Tripod Case (24 Tall). Would two tripods (each under 23 inches tall) and two ball heads not attached fit in this case?

A: Hi Lynette, It depends on the diameter of the tripod legs to judge if you have enough room for the two ball heads. If you have tripods for still cameras most likely they will fit as they tend to be smaller than tripods for video. Two tripods each under 23 inches should fit no problem unless the diameter of the legs closed is over 6 per tripod. To verify you could use a piece of gaffers tape and tape the the two tripods together and measure. Thank you,Will

Q: 5. Will this fit Profoto B10? The specs say the shaft is 8 mm (same as Westcott umbrella -- which does NOT fit). B10 requires a 7mm shaft. So... does this Profoto umbrella fit the Profoto B10 strobe?

A: Yes, the Profoto Shallow Translucent Umbrella (Medium, 41") will fit int the B10's umbrella port.

Q: 6. Does anyone have the dimensions on this case? I noticed there is nothing showing under 'SPECS' on this listing. If you could give me height x width x depth. I will be putting it inside another case for transporting and need to know dimensions. Thank you.

A: Currently we are awaiting more information from the manufacturer. By looking at the illustrations and knowing the size of the PXW-X70, is it my guesstimate that the case is approximately 21 x 15 x 8 .

Q: 7. Is this the case for the Sony HXR-NX80 4K NXCAM?

A: The NX80 have very similar dimensions to the PXW-X70. The NX80 will fit in this case as well.

Q: 8. Does this case fit Ravin R500?

A: Unfortunately no, we do not sell a case for the Ravin R500.

Q: 9. Will this fit the secced reach 4 kit, tripod and fluid head?

A: This case can fit a tripod with a fluid head which measures no more than 46" in total length.

Q: 10. How does a medium silver Profoto umbrella differ from a small silver Profoto umbrella? (I'm shooting headshots)

A: One of them is bigger than the other. s=33 m=41

[13 lb] This rack is perfect if you need portability and have no need for a deeper sized rack. The covers lock into place very snuggly.

[13 lb] I wish I had just gone with these earlier - some of the bad reviews out there kept me away. Mine had no issues with thin walls, plastic shavings inside, etc. Perhaps buckles will prove to be a bit loose, but seems easy enough to simply curve them in a bit more with channel lock pliers/wrench.

Originally I thought I would prefer other cases with the equipment more flush with the front of the case when open, but there is plenty of space to get your fingers to adjust knobs even near the edges of the case on mounted gear, plus the recess provides a bit more protection.

These stack very well also. The tops do not sag very much, which some others do. (some pictures make them look very saggy, but all of mine are not)

Finally, I don't know of any others that allow for shallow racks to be mixed with full-depth when stacking - this is very useful.

[Plastic] The case was well built and I feel comfortable trusting my equipment in this case.

[Side Handle] Sturdy, protective, and everything I expected. Has rails on both sides. This thing is solid. I had to muscle the included rack screws carefully by hand due to the fresh coat of paint on the screws and rails. Once they had been fully inserted and the threads were broken in they began to glide in and out with an electric drill or by hand just as they should. Just be careful the first time in because it's all brand new. Great product; I'd buy it again. Best case right here if you're not in the market for a wood+aluminum road case.

[13 lb] I got this to house a wireless receiver, mixer, and power distribution unit. It works very well. I also put a drawer in the bottom to hold cables, batteries, etc.

[Side Handle] I use it for mounting my bass head and my Furman power supply. I like the weather striping on both front and rear lids. The newer handles are very strong, and the latches are sturdy.

[Side Handle] I purchased a standard depth SKB 4U rack case about three years ago for my amp and power conditioner. The quality, features, and ease of use impressed me as well as the way it protected my gear in travel, at the gig and in storage. So it a no brainer when I needed a rack case for my wireless gear. Since the roto cases interlock when stacked it makes it easy to transport and store.

[Side Handle] Never buy another BIG Rack case again in this day in age of smaller rack units.
