Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you lock this jib for long exposures?

A: Yes, this can be locked off.

Q: 2. Has anyone used 2 of these together in a pcie thunderbolt3 enclosure on the same computer?

A: While we are not aware of a specific example of this, it is possible with a large enough chassis and a computer that has enough power to run both.

Q: 3. 39.7 lbs or 26.4 lbs? Confused about the 2 different counter balances.

A: The counterbalance is 8.8 lb to 26 lb on the Manfrotto 612 Nitrotech Fluid Head with 645 FAST Twin Carbon Fiber Tripod System and Bag. The head itself can support a payload of up to 39 lb.

Q: 4. Will this work in a system with another identical card already in it? How will the second card present itself to video mixing applications (like OBS)? I'm imagining it being "Decklink Duo (5)" up to "Decklink Duo (8)", I just wanna make sure before I buy a second one

A: You can have multiple DeckLink cards of the same or different model in a system. Different video applications will label the cards and inputs/outputs differently.

Q: 5. Im confused by earlier q&a in here,Is the max weight for camera rig 15kg alone, or 15kg included counterweights, which means around 7.5kg on each side?My rig weighs around 10kg.(Ursa Mini 4.6 with 70-200 2.8)

A: I spent a lot of time asking around on this one. I posted the original question. Some companies said they would check directly with iFootage, and I received opposing answers, both claiming certainty.I think we need clarity directly from iFootage about this.Think about it. If it's 15kg for the rig only, then their product might have to take double? to balance. Is it really that strong? And what about the difference between shortened and fully extended arm in terms of physical pressure.No. I still haven't been 100% certain of the answer. If you want, try it slowly. And monitor the structure very carefully.

Q: 6. What accessories will I need (if any) to attach a DSLR?

A: The iFootage M1-III comes with everything you need to attach a DSLR camera to its quick release plate. However, You could add the iFootage Komodo K5 Fluid Head which would allow you to tilt and position the camera using the 75mm bowl adapter. iFootage Komodo K5 Fluid Head BH #IFK5

Q: 7. I have a Miller set of sticks with 75mm ball mount. Will the crane fit onto these? There are no specs on the mounting options at the base of the jib.

A: Yes. It can mount to a 75mm ball mount as well as flat mount.

Q: 8. Can I use this system for a 3-4 camera livestream setup where I can see every connection as an independent video source that I can switch between in the software? And if so, is there a 4k version available yet?

A: Many have suggested here that the decklink 8k Pro would be a comparable card with 4k resolution. Let me warn you, IT IS NOT! As someone who purchased the 8k card and have since returned it, know that the marketing material/ info is actually deceiving. It seems like it would allow for 4 separate in/s out/s at a time, but it doesn't actually do that. It's more of like a quad channel card, or a single input and output card, as opposed to 4 separate inputs or outputs.

Q: 9. Does this come with the travel case?

A: no this does not come with a travel case

Q: 10. Does this head use the same base plates as manfrotto?

A: No, this does not use the same quick release plate as Manfrotto. It uses the proprietary QR8PRO quick release plate. https://bhpho.to/3tqPKm6

[LC] For Tactical fiber cables, these are ultra light weight, but they do take a beating! Great Cables!

[Single Mode] While I wasn't a fan of the cost at first, this is certainly a product where we are getting what we paid for. Cars and trucks of all sizes run over these cables all the time while we are trying to set things up, and after a year, the cables still look new- no signs of damage or even wear. They have sat outside for over a month at a time, in the rain and snow (minus the ends), and they just work great.

[Single Mode] 6 strand LC cable works well. Very flexible and is weatherproof.
However this is NOT tactical cable don't roll any tanks over it!
Works well with LC couplers, I have joined 3 together with no issues.
Cable comes coiled very small. I laid it out in the sun for a few hours and removed most of the cable's coil memory.

[-55 to -45 dB] We pulled it through 3/4 conduit and it worked out great. We used a mesh so that the ends wouldnt have any tension when we pulled. We ended up connecting two of these in a dry location with couplers. Still working fine after a year.

[-55 to -45 dB] We use this to get audio/video to the front and back of large conference rooms, works great. The cable is only as thick as a single regular XLR cable.
