Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Could I use this product for a video wall of three monitors? I would like to be able to display a 1x3 video on these monitors at 1080P resolution for each monitor.

A: Dear Kelly, This is Jules from product support at Symbiosis, Decimator's master distributor for your region. The MD-Quad has four 3G-SDI inputs, one 3G-SDI output and one HDMI output. Both outputs carry the same picture at the same format. You wouldn't be able to drive three monitors with different tiles of your source to produce a video wall. The MD-Quad effectively works the other way round to take up to four inputs and put them onto one monitor. I hope this helps but if you have any questions please feel free to contact us on support@symbiosis.com. Kind Regards Jules

Q: 2. Will 4 of the new larger sized 'Anton Bauer - Digital 190' mount nicely on this holder?

A: We are currently recommending this charger as compatible with the new shape Anton Bauer batteries.

Q: 3. What is the resolution of the HDMI output? My goal is to feed 4 1080p SDI inputs into one 4K HDMI output.

A: The DECIMATOR MD-QUAD 3G/HD/SD-SDI Quad Split Multi-Viewer with SD/HD/3G-SDI & HDMI Outputs Version 3 can only output a max resolution of 1080p via the HDMI output. The Blackmagic Design MultiView 4, BH #BLMV4, would allow for 4 1080p SDI inputs to output via HDMI in 4K.

Q: 4. Does this work with livestream studio?

A: Yes, this is compatible with Livestream Studio.

Q: 5. do you know if the inputs can be duplicated ? to fill out the quad view if you only have 2x-3x cameras (as in Smallhd monitors)

A: No, the SWIT 21.5" 1000nits 12G-SDI HDR QD-LED Field Monitor does not support the duplication of input signals. However, you could achieve a duplicated spit layout using the SWIT 21.5" 1000nits 12G-SDI HDR QD-LED Field Monitor and a 1x4 SDI signal spitter, such as the BZBGEAR 12G-SDI 1x4 Splitter/Distribution Amplifier (BH #BZGDA12GS1X4).

Q: 6. Would this support live color grading of an HDR signal inside of Resolve Studio? Signal would be coming from various game consoles.

A: Sorry - should have elaborated. Potential setup: Standalone PS5 outputting HDR signal to HDMI splitter; splitter output #1 to HDR monitor #1 for untreated monitoring; splitter output #2 to PC and into Resolve for "live" color grading on HDR monitor #2. By "live" I mean without capturing video clips to THEN be graded. A slight lag/delay doesn't matter too much - I'd just like the game to remain playable and have the preview in Resolve update automatically, and support setting up grades without needing to capture clips.

Q: 7. How on earth is the PCIe card [designed for a tower?] work in a Laptop?? [since some one asked if it worked with their MacBook Pro and the answer was YES?!]

A: I run several cameras into the Decklink Quad with HDMI cords and then run the Decklink into my MacBook Pro through a Thunderbolt 2 port. I can run 4 external cameras into 1 TB2 port. Camera into Decklink Quad then from Decklink to MacBook Pro into a TB2 port. I also bought a protective box (Echo Express) that powers the capture card externally. Don't install the capture card in your laptop. It is for external use. CB

Q: 8. What's the amperage out of this thing?

A: We assume you are asking about the amperage of the AC output. That information is not listed for this and for other AC power adapters that we can find. We would guess it to be in the 4400 to 6300 mAH range.

Q: 9. Will this pass visual time code?

A: If you are feeding this unit a signal that has Time Code Displayed it will see the Time Code and display it as well. If this is not what you are asking about and require some further assistance feel free to email us directly at provideo@bhphoto.com.

Q: 10. Can you replace the V-Mount to Gold mount? We are using Gold mount (AB) here in the Philippines

A: Yes you can replace it

[9 µm] Cable worked as expected. We use it for our field camera on football game days. We can move all over the field without a signal drop.

[9 µm] This unit is great and functions as both simplex and duplex feed thru panel. We are using this in our studio as part of our patch panel and video hub.

[OpticalCON QUAD] I have a reel with just one channel on it, but found out it's cheaper to buy this cable and just remove the bracket from the LC side. Comes right out without cutting anything.

[LC] The Complex Lemo Camera Cable with the jackreel is great! We have a system inside but since the pandemic we needed this product to run our camera and function outside. We are still able to function with our switcher in a control room because of this cabling. Great product for indoor or outdoor use. It has been a life saver not worrying about needing more cable... The jackreel is great for storage without tngles and messy wires.
