Q: 1. Is this a single layer keypad? I thought I've seen pic of this where the keys are back lit red and was hoping the red was a second layer.

A: You can only use a 'second layer' in Software Mode, not Hardware Mode. This requires the assignment of a modifier key, along with some logic to control the backlights accordingly. If you use a Mac, the included software will make this process very easy. If you use Windows, the included software may not support what you are describing.

Q: 2. What is the shaft diameter? Will this fit Elinchrom flash heads?

A: The shaft diameter of the Photoflex Convertible Umbrella is 8mm. It would not be compatible for use with Elinchrom light fixtures. If you are looking for a 60-inch umbrella with a 7mm umbrella shaft compatible for use with Elinchrom light fixtures, I would instead recommend the Photek GoodLighter Umbrella with 7mm and 8mm Shafts (White, 60"), B&H # PHU1060FGS.

Q: 3. Does this work with Lightroom?

A: The X-keys XK-12 Jog and Shuttle can be programed for various keyboard emulations so it can be programmed for use in Adobe Lightroom.

Q: 4. There are three questions on this product, and the answers given all contradict each other. can you clarify all the answers please?

A: The long answer is that the conflict between Xencelabs Quick Keys and Wacom tablet drivers is a very specific issue which arises due to the limitations of WinTab, an API which can be used with Wacom devices to allow pen input in Windows. This has mainly been an issue in older versions of Photoshop and other Adobe software; modern versions rely instead on Windows Ink, a different API which Xencelabs has stated creates no issues when using both Xencelabs and Wacom devices. Xencelabs has provided instructions on dealing with this issue in a post on their subreddit here: https://bit.ly/3tsqcaI The short answer is that yes, there have been issues with driver compatibility, but this is mainly the case with older versions of Adobe programs and only on Windows. There should be no problems with current versions of Adobe software, and for users who are still having trouble the link above contains a workaround.

Q: 5. Does this include the fabric grid for sure? Just curious if the BH description is correct, because the Nanlite site doesn't say that it is, and charges the same price.

A: No - It does not have the fabric grid. We will contact B&H to make the correction. You would have to order the EC-FZ60 as an accessory

A: It is a Mix

Q: 8. Does this device work properly with Big Sur?

A: At this time Big Sur is not supported.

Q: 9. Does this work with premiere pro

A: Yes all of our Xkeys keyboards are compatible with Premiere Pro.

Q: 10. Will this work with Hitfilm on a Mac?

A: We're a programmable keypad, the jog and shuttle have potions that are programmed in the same fashion as our buttons, alhtough I don't have any experience with Hitfilm, if you have a list of keyboard macros to control the software you can program those macros onto the device itself. For MAC users with jog and shuttle models you would need to program the device in Hardware Mode on a Windows machine with our programming software Macroworks 3.1 and then bring it over to the MAC for use.

[72 g] We're running control room software from Strasis Systems which directly supports all X-Keys keyboards. This keyboard provides our operators the ability to control what they see which greatly simplifies system interaction. We printed custom overlays for each key making it very simple to find a function quickly... the back lighting works great in low light conditions and is programmable (blue, red, magenta shades only). Overall a industrial grade product... we are very happy and have purchased additional X-Keys keyboards. 5

[2.11 lb] I use this keyboard to start programs, bring up websites, open documents, and to run macros and shortcut keystrokes in several programs that I frequently use. Once you start programming, it's amazing how quickly you fill up all of the keys. If the XK-128 wasn't more than double the price, I would have gotten that one. Basic key programming, which I use for 90% of the keys, is fairly easy. If you learn to edit the program scripts, which is non-trivial, you can pretty much modify any effect of the keys and/or lights that you would need.I have had to contact PI Engineering for a couple of programming glitches, and they were very responsive in helping me work through the issues. 5

[USB-A ] This thing just works! Right out of the box we had it set up and programmed in a few minutes. Using it to bring up video grabs in a hurry during hockey games... saves us a lot of time and means anyone can drive the system without needing to know their way around the mixing software. We're in Australia and we received it from the US in three days. Very impressed! 5

[Rubber Dome] I use this product in conjunction with Pfixer for Lightroom and it's cut my editing time into almost 1/3rd. If you're a photographer that loves hot keys and uses Lightroom, this is invaluable! 5

[Rubber Dome] So easy to program. I downloaded the software and set this baby up within minutes to use to replicate just the arrows of a USB keyboard. I plan on getting another differently shaped model too. The company was very user-friendly and it is all very intuitive to setup. 5

[72 g] I was surprised by the quality of this keyboard. I was also surprised by the ease of programming. One amazing note on my choice of this - super easy to find keys in Virtual Reality flight simulator. Exactly what I hoped for! I'm going to buy another one so both sides of my virtual cockpit are covered. 5
