The XK-12 USB 12 Switch Interface by X-keysfrom XK-12 USB 12 Switch Interface by X-keyscan convert input from any contact closure switch into a USB HID command. If features six switch ports which use standard 3.5mm stereo mini jack audio connectors. Because stereo mini is dual channel, a total of twelve switches can be connected by using 3.5mm Y-adapters, available separately. You can use any 3.5mm terminating switch you want, or you can choose from a selection of hand- and foot-operated options from X-keys. Input from the switch can be mapped to any mouse, keyboard, game controller, or other USB HID command. Plus, you can program in macros for keyboard shortcuts like Close, Minimize, Save, or even frequently-used text strings. Free programming software is available from the X-keys website for Windows and OS X to assist in configuration, and SDKs are available for software developers.

X-keys provides free tools downloadable from their website to assist you in programming the XK-12. For Windows they offer MacroWorks 3.1 and for OS X they offer ControllerMate. In addition, SDKs (software developer kits) are available with support for multiple programming languages for Windows, Linux, Android, and Raw HID, the latter supporting any language and OS

A: This USB cable adapter will work well with a full or half cage from Tilta for the Blackmagic Pocket 4K or Pocket 6K.

A: Yes all of our Xkeys keyboards are compatible with Premiere Pro.

Q: 3. how do you connect the MG12XU to a receiver and 4 speakers ?

A: You can use the two XLR Stereo outputs and the two Stereo outputs to plug into your speakers left and right. Assuming they are active speakers and accept XLR and inputs. You will find these outputs in the far right at the top of the mixer.

Q: 4. Is this a good Mixer for the Shure SM7B? I recently bought this mic and I understand it needs a lot of Pre amp gain, at least 60+db.

A: While this can used with the SM7B, it is highly recommended to purchase a signal booster to add additional gain to the mic before the mixer. An example would be the CloudLifter B&H # CLCL1.

A: Yes, and it comes with the rack mouning hardware.

A: Yes anything applied to the main stereo mix is going to be transmitted through the USB connection to a computer

Q: 7. If I connect to a laptop via USB, is it possible to mix recorded channels separately with DAW software? E.G. Record a live band to laptop and then mix each input post recording. If so, which software would I need? Thanks

A: The USB interface is 2in/2out. You will be transmitting the main stereo mix to your computer via USB. Individual channels are not able to be routed to separate channels in a DAW via this mixer.

Q: 8. How stable is the USB connection? Can you use it during gigs?

A: I have not heard any complaints about stability of the connection itself. I have heard about some of the most recent Windows OS updates not being compatible with this mixer. Another small mixer with a usb connection that is known for its reliability would be B&H part # MAPROFX12V2.

Q: 9. Can the Tascam Model 12 output midi timecode?

A: Yes, the Tascam Model 12 Mixer/Recorder can output MIDI timecode while recording and during playback through the MIDI out DIN connector and through the USB connection simultaneously.

Q: 10. Will this work with small rig cage?

A: We're afraid not. This is for the Tilta BMPCC 4K Cage.

[0.515 lb] I have 8 XKEYS panels for 4 VMIX's, 1 for 4 channels of Chyron, 1 to toggle ENPS for news rundowns, 1 for the production truck that runs the graphics. Also a backup that's never needed to be used. Great boxes, no problems, easy to program. 5

[0.515 lb] This thing just works! Right out of the box we had it set up and programmed in a few minutes. Using it to bring up video grabs in a hurry during hockey games... saves us a lot of time and means anyone can drive the system without needing to know their way around the mixing software. We're in Australia and we received it from the US in three days. Very impressed! 5

[0.515 lb] I was surprised by the quality of this keyboard. I was also surprised by the ease of programming. One amazing note on my choice of this - super easy to find keys in Virtual Reality flight simulator. Exactly what I hoped for! I'm going to buy another one so both sides of my virtual cockpit are covered. 5
